[Q] Battery calibration? (Power off at ~11%) - Desire Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

My HTC Desire consistently executes "power off/shutdown" at 11% battery (which then states 0% on a reboot).
Device is about 9-10mths old and I run the battery down daily.
How can one recalibrate the battery meter?
Any chance HTC/Telstra would replace battery under warranty (if this is a battery issue)?

Cwm3.0.x.x >advanced>wipe battery stats
Meybe it helps, i dont know, giv a try and report.

Issue persists after wiping battery stats in ClockworkMod Recovery 3.0.0.5 (fake flash method).
11% today, but it actually shut down at 15% last night.

Hello, I have the same problem. Does someone know how to calibrate the battery (wipe battery stats doesn't fix it).

hi,
look to this thread, there is also an app so called in the market

[Q] CM 7.0.2 battery stats issue.

Hi Guys,
I am facing a strange issue with battery stats indicator. When I charge the battery it does not go beyond 85%. Mt vitals are as under
CM 7.0.2-buzz
Radio 13.55.55.24H_3.35.20.10
Kernel 2.6.32.39-nFinity arcotuxbox #1
I have already tried to wipe the battery stats and after rebooting i am able to charge upto 100%. However, on my next charge-up the battery stats get stuck at 85%.
any help is appreciated.
Get the battery calibrator app from the market. (Made by a dev from xda).
I would recommend turning device off charge for 5-6hours. Turn device on(PWR+VOL DWN+TRACKPAD). Let it charge for another hour with the battery calibrator app open then wipe the stats and unplug. Use device til it goes flat and recharge.
I'd recommend wiping dalvik cache before you start and cache partition.

Thanks f0xy for the help.
Battery calibrator solved the problem. All I did was to charge the battery fully, reeboot into recovery, wipe the battery stats, charge to 100%, run battery calibrator and reboot. Problem solved.

[Q] high battery drain on all roms!

Hi! Before i have got a drain of 3-6 mA with most of the roms, but suddenly all roms dain 16-20 mA. No matter if it is MIUI , cm7 or sense roms. They all have the same drain .. is my battery bad ?
Got my phone waterdamaged 2 weeks ago , but this bad battery time started yesterday...
First you need to calibrate the battery.
Charge your phone until Current Widget shows 0mA. Then go into recovery and delete battery stats. Let the phone discharge until it shuts down by itself, then charge until it is back to 0mA. That will calibrate the battery.
Secondly, new ROM's do take a few days to "learn" how to use the battery most efficiently so you wont get the best battery life instantly.

I know that ROMĀ“s need a few days , but i have waited a few days ,and noticed that it is allways the same drain... But i will try calibrate my battery next
And please make sure that during the period of charging it the second time that you do not take it off the charger. That will mess up the calibration and you will have to start all over again.
you might want to try a new radio too
same for me. I tried everything I could.
I tried these roms:
-coredroid
-ARHD
-honey
-virtuous
-MIUI(current)
I tried these methods:
-multiple new recommended radio + ril
-battery calibration app + clear battery stats(recovery) @ 100%.
-full wipe 1.5
-re-root(hack kit v12.3)
-different kernels
When I first rooted my phone battery was perfect on any roms until I flashed ARHD,thats when my battery drainage happened.

how many hours you are getting now....with regular usage ????
I'm getting the same here... Started with ARDH too, then LeeDroid, now Virtuous.
Clean installs each time, apps restored using Titanium. Also re-flashed the recommended Radios too and calibrated the battery once.
Current drain is 15% / hour on Standby ~70+mA.
I noticed no unusal Wake Locks either.
I'm loving Virtuous, but thinking to go back to stock if the new Viruous update doesn't solve this.
Just whilst typing this I lost 2% :-(
Yeah this is no fun...

lately i got a problem with my battery.
using cm7.1 stable for htc desire gsm and my battery was fully drained in the time from 1:00am till 6:00am.
it went from 60% to zero and i couldnt get my phone on in the morning.
used a battery monitoring app (during that time) to see what is going on and the battery status report said "no data" for this time.
recalibrated my battery a month ago. took another month to come back.
can anyone help me?
or is someone facing the same issue?

I am also using cm7.1 on my desire. I used a tool from the market called 'Battery Calibration' and i have noticed a significant difference in my battery life. I do intend to change my battery to a new heavy duty one in the near future.
Hope you sort yours out.
Mark
i did battery calibration manualy and i tried an app to increae battery life (like juice defender), but it still occured.
but thx for your reply
Install OS Monitor from the market. Put CPU graph in the notification bar and look what's eating your cpu and memory. Maybe only one app is making trouble. (and you can switch to nightly, it's stable enough)

Look for better battery stats here on XDA and check your wakelocks. There's probably a rough app keeping your phone awake and draining your battery. Calibrate your battery as the others suggested. You can also try and change your kernel if needed. But I suggest that you check your wakelocks first.
You should set you wifi sleep policy to never
settings -> wireless & networks -> wifi settings
press menu -> advanced and set wifi sleep policy to Never
press menu -> save
This should save you some battery

is it usefull to use a Battery Calibrator?
I have done almost always battery calibration with all my androids.
-Battery Calibration from Market
-Load battery full, do calibration
-Use battery till phone shutdown
-Load battery full when its turned off
After these steps regular use and battery acts like it should
In CWM go to advanced - batery calibration
do this with 100 procent batery
let the phone run dry
charge 100 procent while phon eis still turned of.
You can repeat this until it is good again
good luck
i try latest doomkernel, from the review it said that battery use just average 1%per hour, but when i try it,my battery drain faster,in 6hour my phone dead,so i think maybe i miscalibrate,ok i will try all the method above, thnx for help
