[Q] ROOT and factory reset - Desire General

Hello
first, sorry for my bad english...
here is my trouble : i rooted my HTC desire with the unrevoked method, and it went well.
then, i have made a factory reset and applied the OTA update from 2.10 to 2.29 (OTA_Bravo_Froyo_HTC_WWE_2.29.405.2-2.10.405.2_R_P_release8gn61bgo3rswcw24.zip)
but now, when i'm trying to use an app that request the SuperUser rights, i don't get the pop up asking for this authorization... (i.e. titanium backup)
and i can't update the superuser app in the market...
i tried to re-root with unrevoked, but that didn't solve my trouble...
i need your help
thanks
Adrien

Never apply OTA updates on rooted phones.
You still have CWM recovery? If yes reflash your/a rom.
Otherwise use a ruu to unroot properly and reroot.

yes, i have still CWM recovery
i don't understand what you mean with /a rom ?
and, if i do this way, how to update from 2.10 to 2.29
thanks
Adrien

You can reflash the rom you already have or flash a new custom rom. The custom rom will most likely be the newest version.

[Q] Installing OTA when root

Answered at least a million times.
It doesn't work no matter what you try. My Desire's now back to factory default because I sent it off to be factory reflashed after rooting it and finding no way to install the latest OTA update.
All the threads with people having issues after doing it says something different. Also a Ruu should have worked fine to get latest official rom. Which is the way to go if you don't want a custom rom but do want the latest OTA update.

[Q] no rom??

The other day i got LeeDrOiD 3.0.3, but i now want to get rid of it and get my phone back to how it was before i flashed a rom and rooted.
So how can i get rid of a custom rom and get it back to stock android 2.2 and be able to update my phone with normal android and htc sense updates.
(I didn't preform a nandroid backup as at the time i thought that it was just backing up all my photos and music and stuff.)

[Q] Help needed to get OTA 2.3.4

Purchased a used G2 on ebay - phone was rooted and I believe CM7 installed - clockworkmod came up and I tried to install a custom rom and was only getting white HTC screen.
At this point I really just want the latest official gingerbread 2.3.4 on the phone (even if it means getting an original stock rom then getting the OTA update thru t-mobile). I don't care if its rooted or not. (Picture of HBOOT screen attached below)
What is the easiest and fastest way to do this from what I have on my phone at this point? If I just factory reset from this menu will I still have to get a stock a rom and put it on my sdcard?
Just flash the rooted version from the dev thread dude

Either that or if you don't care about root, flash pc10img of ota gb.

Updating software after rooting

Dear frens,
I've rooted my HOX and unlocked bootloader. However, I still use stock rom and kernel.
My question is, can I update the software straight away without unroot back my phone? Some of my frens told me that once you unroot your phone, you cannot update your software even though u r still using the stock rom. Is it true?
Please advise.
Thanks, guys.

You will have to relock your bootloader and flash stock recovery to perform the ota. Some people recommend unrooting first before doing an ota just incase there's any problems

As you are on stock there is no need to relock your bootloader so long as you are doing the update via OTA (over the air) i.e from your handset.
you will however need to flash stock recovery before doing the update.

Can I ask where to find the stock recovery file?
..... Manage to find it at www.androidrevolution.nl/ARHD/index.php?dir=OneX/Recovery/

[Q] What is the easiest way to install Clockwork recovery?

I want to install Clockwork recovery on my Desire Z. I have tried to use HTC's bootlocker unlocking tool, but it doesn't let me update to the RUU, telling me that I need to get a newer firmware from the OTA update. I already have the latest one.
So therefore I need to find another way to install Clockwork recovery. What would be the easiest and most up-to-date way to do it for a Desire Z?

I ended up using both straw metals http://d-h.st/j97 and Cyanogens http://wiki.cyanogenmod.org/w/Install_CM_for_vision#Rooting_the_T-Mobile_G2
There was something I needed that straw metals didn't have that I got from cyan. I also went from clockwork to 4ext the next day. you might want to just start out with it.
