[Q] LeeDroid 3.0.3 - putting phone on silent? - Desire Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I installed LeeDroid 3.0.3 on my Desire this morning and it seems to be working very well so far. But when I hold down the power button to bring up the Power Options menu, there's no longer an option to put the phone on silent mode - is there any way of doing this quickly other than by using the volume keys (which is too fiddly for my liking)? Maybe some way of readding the Silent option to the menu? As it's both the first Gingerbread Rom and the first LeeDroid Rom I've tried, I'm unsure which one of them introduced this change...

Just had the same problem :S
Running stock 1.34 ROM with ClockwordMod (latest version in ROM Manager)
A normal reboot worked but it still scared me for a bit
To get to the bootloader (and from there you can get to recovery) you need to press power + vol DOWN.
I'm sure it didn't permanently mess up something, your phone should be fine. As to what happened, I don't have a clue, weird thinhs can happen to the phones at times
If you have USB-Debugging turned on, then the DHD creats a logfile in /sdcard/logs, while rebooting and holding VOL-Down.
This is normal, and the vibration is a recognize for this action.
Creating this log file needs some time... > some minutes.

[Q] Cant access bootloader on leedroid 3.0.5

Hey all,
I am running leedroid 3.0.5 on a HTC Desire and I want to install another ROM. I went to run bootloader by turning the phone off, holding down the lower volume button while hitting the power button. The phone is just restarting but in a quicker than normal mode. I have tried this a few times and it is still the same. I tried also hitting the power button and then holding down the lower volume button - this just brought up the HTC logo and the device was delayed for several minutes.
Can anyone tell me what is going on or what I can do?
How to explore each menu in the settings after u install a new rom?
Settings/applications/disable fast boot

Hey. Anyone else have any idea's? I turned off the setting as you suggested but it is still not working.
Takea out the battery. Wait few secs. Put back. Hold POWER + VOL DOWN.
Pull battery and try again. If it doesn't work then it may be that your volume button is acting up. If that is the case, pull battery and press power while holding down the back button. This will bring you to fastboot menu. From there select the first option to enter bootloader.

Thanks guys. I got it working by pressing the back button instead of the volume down button.

[Q] Attempted Root Using Ace Hack Kit - Bricked?

I just tried rooting my desire hd using the Advanced Ace Hack Kit.
It got to the part that said push volume up button and then power to flash twice or something like that. After doing that, on the phone it said updating on the screen. And then it rebooted to the hboot screen and was frozen (volume and power buttons don't do anything). I left it like that for 15min just in case it was doing something. But then i decided to take out the battery and go back into hboot. Now when i turn on the phone it just stays on the HTC logo with white background. And when i go into hboot, the volume and power buttons don't work (hboot seems to be frozen).
I have attached a photo of the hboot. Can I fix this? Or is the phone bricked?
EDIT: I just realised that when i go into hboot, it doesn't even do the SD card check thing.
EDIT 2: I just took out the SD card and things seem to be happening. The volume buttons and power button works. However it is on the official recovery and it apparently hasn't rooted.

HTC One M8 hardware buttons working weirdly

Hello everyone! So I've had my phone (HTC One M8) rooted and custom recovery and rom installed for a little while now. The latest rom I've installed was Android Revolution HD 22.1. I also have twrp 2.8.1.0 installed. The other day my phone got wet and started to constantly reboot itself, wouldn't shut off and stay off, would never actually start. I put it in a cup of rice for 2 days, then proceeded to plug it in to charge it. Once charged enough I tried to turn it on. It only made it the HTC One logo screen and would vibrate every 10 seconds or so. I tried rebooting several times and no matter what I did with different button combinations I could not get it to load into bootloader. Eventually with restarting different ways and "mechanically stressing" the phone (short temper lol) I managed to get it to loading into the rom itself. From there I opened hasoons all in one toolkit to reboot directly into recovery and recovered to the stock rom. So the phone will now reboot with no problem into this rom. I haven't tried reflashing the ARHD 22.1 rom again because im afraid it'll break again. However, while in the stock rom everything work fines except for the volume up button which does nothing, except for while the screen is off, if I turn my phone to landscape the camera app will open without me even pressing the volume up button. If I reboot into bootloader via the quickboot app or hasoons toolkit, my volume down button with make the cursor go up, the volume up button does nothing, and the power button does nothing. The only thing I can do in bootloader is to hold power+volume up to get the phone to reboot. I also cannot get bootloader to load by holding volume down+power. So, After all that explaining, my main question would be, do you think that the buttons are shorting in a weird way because of water damage, or do you think my software got corrupted because of all the rebooting it did? Any help is appreciated, thanks!

(PS: I posted this in XDA assist originally but figured it would be better being posted here.)
UPDATE: my power button will now lock my phone but not unlock it.

Power and volume buttons don't work properly

Hello guys, how are you doing?
So, yesterday my htc one m8 started to do one thing very weird: the power button could unlock screen but couldn’t lock it back. Also, the volume buttons go all your way up or down with only one click.
I managed my way to restart the phone but it entered on HBoot Screen. Now, in HBoot, up button go to next item and down and power button don’t work.
I already restart the phone just waiting ir run out of battery, but it entered in safe mode. Here everything works fine. I restarted the phone and it entered HBoot again, with same problems with buttons.
I’m familiar with fastboot, flash and everything, but I can’t enter on any option in HBoot, anyone know what should I do?
Fixed
Well, in HBoot screen I pressed Power + volume down and everything is working fine now.
