Does anyone know how to or if it has already been done to change the color of the text without using a third party lockscreen? I have Widget locker but I like to use the system. As you can see in the screen shot it can be difficult to see the light text on the light back ground. I am on Cyanogen Mod 10 final. Any thoughts?

Use Aokp JBMS1. They have an option for that. That's why i prefer Aokp, lot more customizations.

Is there any way to do it without flashing an entirely new ROM? Is the AOKP as stable as CM10 stable version?
Aokp is very stable. I haven't ran CM10, so I can't compare. I would assume they run equally as smooth.

I'm running stock ROM now I switch back and fourth between asop and lg custom ui but I like my qslide apps that I have on my lg optimus I was wondering how to make battery life better like it is with asop ROMs like carbon thanks buddy

The biggest thing that kills battery's is widgets and background apps that update frequently.... Minimize the apps update frequency and minimize ya widget use and along with brightness Control u should see a pretty good jump in battery life...

You can try the Xbatteries module for Xposed. They have a green circle battery among other options.
