No, you can't flash an AmonRa backup with ClockworkMod or vice versa.
You're just going to have to flash Clockwork back, flash your Clockwork nand backup, flash AmonRa, and then backup with AmonRa and delete your Clockwork backup.
Or cut your losses, and just delete the Clockwork backup.
No, you can't use backups from different recoveries.
That sucks ! So you can't just move the file to the nand file? also can you rename nand backups from ra in a file manager or will they not work if you do?

Well I only wanted it cause it was the stock rom but I could just get that from this site so I guess its just wasted sd space... lol

Negative on all of the above. They are not interchangeable at all, no matter what you name them. As someone else suggested already, use ROM manager to flash back to clockwork. Then restore your backup. Once its restored, flash back to amon ra. Create a new backup with amon, then delete your clockwork backup. It wont take long at all. (As was already posted, just agreeing that is the easiest way to resolve you're problem)

I've tried to flash cwm it says I'm on it but when I flash anything I go right into recovery and I'm in ra any idea why that would be?

I guess you are trying to flash from the Rom manager. You can try this. In the rom manager at the bottom it says Flash Alternate Recovery, which is Amon-RA. Click that let in install Amon-RA again then go back into Rom manager and try to install clockwork recovery again. I can not find the Clockwork recovery image so if anyone knows where you can get the actual image file to flash manually then that may be the next choice. I have found on my sd card a Clockwork recovery image v3.0.0.5 by it is not zipped.
Also Amon-Ra says that you could do this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=705026.
via terminal app or adb - (Make sure your rom contains flash_image!!)
Copy recovery-RA-supersonic-v2.3.img to the root of your sdcard
start the terminal app or launch adb
su(press enter)
flash_image recovery /sdcard/recovery-RA-supersonic-v2.3.img(press enter)
reboot recovery(press enter)
Now the above is for his rom, but you should be able to replace recovery-RA-supersonic-v2.3.img with a clockwork recovery image and it do the same thing. I have not tried this so do it at your own risk. If you try the rom manager with no results and can not find a flashable clockwork-recovery.zip file then I cnapost the image file i have for you to try but I don't promise anything. Maybe someone else has a better idea.

I made a NAND backup using Amon Ra, but flashed to Clockwork in order to use Rom Manager (It seems most custom roms need Clockwork to install properly)
Is there any way I can make the Amon Ra NAND backup flash using Clockwork?
I just don't want to have to go through installing all the apps and entering accounts again...
EDIT: If there is no way, how can I reflash Amon Ra to get my NAND backup
Yeah, you can copy the contents of the nandroid folder created on your sdcard by the amon ra recovery and paste it into the clockwork/backup folder. Clockwork recovery will then see your ra nand backup info. Also, I'm using rom manager but I also have the ra recovery image on my sdcard and there's an option in rom manager to flash an alternate recovery and mine displays amon ra since the image exists on the card.

Well that didn't work quite as you wrote it, but I did notice on the bottom part of rom manager that you can actually flash different recoveries.
Guess I should have poked around a little more before asking questions
I suppose I could have clarified that the folder you copy into the clockworkmod/backup directory is in the nandroid/HT05(whatever else). There should be folders with a prefix like BCDS and those folders are what you will copy. I verified on mine again that it does work and the backups are then visible upon booting into clockwork recovery.

I don't understand. After I rooted using simpleroot, I flashed RA_recovery onto my phone using simpleroot. The option to flash using an alternate recovery is greyed out in rom manager though. What gives?
It only shows up once you flash the clockwork recovery using rom manager. When you reboot, you will see the option to flash alternate recovery.

I was on the AMon RA Recovery v1 8.0 and I could use quickboot to get into recovery and do nandroid backups easily. Now I flashed the clockwork recovery and tried using the full version of Rom Manager to do a nandroid and all it does is ask me what to name the file and reboot me to a white screen with options to reboot, recovery, usb toggle and that is about it, no option to do a nandroid backup. When I thought it was supposed to do it itself seeing as that is what the menu says.
I guess I need to reflash the RA Recovery and do it manually. But before I try anything else is this clockwork app good for anything? Can it install ROMs ok or has this app been forgotten and is no longer updated?
Because Clockwork does not restore a nandroid you made using RA, and vice-versa.
I know that. I need to know if clockwork is broken currently. I saw a similar thread for a different phone and they are having the same problem.
I just went ahead and flash the RA recovery so I could make a nandroid backup. Then I can flash the clockwork recovery again and then try installing CM... Nah screw it clockwork is buggy. I'll just download CM6 and install it via RA.
I used clockwork to make a backup. You have to go into the recovery menu, and once in there, then you have an option to do a backup. They probably should have re-worded that top menu option to recovery/backup instead of just recovery.
I think CW and Rom Manager are both buggy in my experience I would stick with RA.
Im about to root using unrevoked and have been reading about the rsa keys and clockwork not backing them up in nand back up.
My question is how do I go from a fresh root with clockwork recovery to AmonRA recovery.
Do I need to do nandroid back-up in clockwork then flash the AmonRA recovery with rom manager.
Also, can I change to AmonRA recovery with the free rom manager? If not is there another way to do it.
Basically I want to be with (for now) a stock rom, rooted, with amronRA, a nandroid back-up, and wireless tether.
You can flash to amon-ra with Rom manager. Open up rom manager and scroll to the bottom of the menu. There's a button that should say Flash Alternate Recovery and then RA REcovery v 1.80. Push that and it'll install amon-ra for you. Just be warned that rom manager won't be able to flash any roms for you after that, and you'll have to push the roms to your phone and boot into recovery and flash everything manually.
Yes use rom manager to switch. You can nandroid with clockwork if you worried, than use rom manager to switch to amonsra, than redo you nandroid with amonra!! Easy to do. Just don't think to hard about it!!!

Pardon my ignorance but I am trying to figure amon ra out. Do I have to have the zip files on the root of the SD card to flash them?
Reason is because it won't let me navigate to my download folder or my roms folder.

Yup, and 1.9 or 2.x (whichever Amon_RA releases for EVO) will have folder navigation.
ok i tried putting amon ra recovery on my evo and i was unsuccessful. I was using clockwork at the time when trying to install amon ra. so since it didnt work i install valpaek rom cuz it has an option in settings to use amon ra recovery. now my question is if i change roms again will i lose the amon ra recovery once my new rom is installed? cuz i really dont wanna use clockwork mod...
Wrong They do NOT need to be on the root with AR.
I have a folder on my SD Card called XDA, and in there, I keep all my zip files, etc in sub folders labeled ROMS, APPS, Themes, Divers, etc....

Don't use ROM Manager to flash AR.
Don't use ROM Manager, period, tbh, except to fix permissions.
Rename this file PC36IMG.zip and put it on the root of your SD Card, reboot to Hboot (Vol dwn/Power) then when it scan and asks you to update, hit yes and it'll install AR.
Then when it reboots, hit no after the scan and then hit Recovery
So I was using Nandroid to backup everything, but then I switched to clockwork and upgraded it to the newest version in ROM Manager.
I want to flash the recovery I made yesterday with nandroid. Ive switched back to Nandroid in the rom manager but it still wont flash the recovery.
How do i get my nandroid backups installed again?
Clockwork wont be able.to restore nandroid backup. You must switch back.to RA recovery to do.this. Clockwork makes a different type of backup format n its located under clockwork folder.
You can use Rom Manager to switch back to RA Recovery

I have switched back to RA recovery via ROM Manager.
I get part way through the recovery and it says "oops, something went wrong".
RA Recovery is at v2.2.2, when I was in the process of recovering before I got the oops message it says RA Recovery v2.3.
Is it possible I am using a version of RA to restore than the version I made the backup with, causing me problems?
Really appreciate it.
Still can't get this recovery installed.

In order for you to flash your recoveries you need to go back to Clockwork Mod recovery v. 2.6.0.1. It's at the bottom of the article by Koush. Flash it, reboot, turn off your phone, and then do a manual restore of your backup from recovery using v. 2.6.0.1.
Here is a PC36IMG.zip if you want to go that route instead.
I got the 'oops' error before....I solved it by wiping all, flashing a rom.zip then once booted back up I was able to use my backups with no issues
