Hey idk what's happening to my Evo but since I rooted I been having issues with the camera isn't working , I tried like 8 Roms already including cyagonem, mikfroyo... now I'm running Vaelpak 3.2 remastered and I love it but camera still doesn't work, just once and after that blank again,pleasea any suggestions?

What hardware version are you? Try looking in settings under hardware information (ex 0004). Are you flashing kernels with theses roms?

Is you camera not working? Or getting the messed up colors? if you've got the purpley/green look, your camera is broken.
It's 0003 and no man I just flash the Roms, but in this one I flashed like 3 kernels, Netarchy 4.3.1,4.3.2 and still nothing wat do u suggest?

Well netarchys kernels are only for sense. If you're running a sense rom right now try this stock kernel. Your camera is guaranteed to work if it doesn't then you have some problems. This is the stock #15 HTC kernel.

Yes wipe dalvik-cache after you flash the kernel in recovery NOT data.

Soon I rooted it it was still working, my 1st Rom was cyagonemod 7 something and camera sometimes worked but when I updated it to cyagonemod 7.0.0 camera didn't work, then I went back to sense Roms like Mikfroyo,Kings unleashed, and camera work once and after that camera isn't working nomore idk man, still in black screen

Have you tried flashing the stock sprint rooted rom and clearing/wiping EVERYTHING in recovery(before you flash). I would suggest you start completely from scratch man. Did you update anything while on sense roms(firmware, htc updates etc)?

I had a 0003 and had the same problem. Never did find a fix. Had to do an insurance claim. Now I have a 0004 with cm7 stable. I have flashed all the nightlies pretty much from 1 with no problem. Have not flashed a custom kernal to this phone though cause it scares me to have the same thing happen. If you find a fix please post so I can fix my 0003 and maybe sell it.

Here's the stock rooted rom.

You can grab the "deodexed" or "odexed" version to test it. If this doesn't work I have one more thing we can do report back and let me know the outcome. The first mediafire link will work just fine. Make sure you wipe first before the flash.

Lol ill be here dude. The only difference between "deodexed" and "odexed" is deodexed is for theming. They're both pretty much the same so if one doesn't work then other will have same results. If that rom doesn't work then we move to the last procedure. "Operation this is bullsh*t"

have you tried restoring your oldest nandroid, in case you did one right after root, also have you tried downloading any free camera app from the market,and see if that makes your camera work

Yeah, that's what I would do. Plus if it doesn't fix it, it's ready to send in. Just make sure you use unrevoked's s-on tool first (before the RUU) so you can send it back.

I'm having this issue with my camera. I can take photos but can't record. I thought it was mmy sd so I put a new one in and when I select record more it still says "Camera Failed". I formatted it and its still saying the same thing... any ideas of why this is happening? Thanks

Ohh and now for some reason when I turn the display off it doesn't turn back on.. I just rebotted my phone 3x .... this rom is garbage, it was working well for a while, and now its screwing up.. but the video recording mode has never worked with this rom, does anyone have any suggestions?
- are there any better newer roms? I'm looking fo something that looks pretty cool but runs smooth.. thanks

Urban fury seemed to run fine when I tried it. Try syndicate frozen rom 1.2. That's what I use.

About kernels.. can someone help out or post a link on a good kernel and how to install it.. I've honestly never messed with the kernel before.
My phone has been doing this on stock ec05. I was epicless for a while and then got it fixed and was dissapointed when at a concert i started getting video camera failed messages.
If you have the native twitter app, removing it and using something else. I had the same issue with my recorder and youtube app and uninstalling twitters app fixed it. Can't remember which thread I read that in but my video player/recorder and youtube player work perfect now.
Good news. Got a defy froyo tmobile rom with everything working except for camera preview
this rom can skip blur setup and has very little bloatware in its original form.
The good news is I was able to port our camera to it...

You can skip moto setup
It has no at&t crap so i didn't have to slim it down and it has unknown sources in settings.
It has hspa and 3g so faster internet

Maybe there was a problem also with the camera.
I made a port too of defy froyo and there is still the same problem.
I worked with adlx froyo for defy, its flasheable with with clockworkmod!
How do you guys move system apps from stock bravo to defy friyi running on bravo?
I think we have to get camera working on a defy froyo rom first, to understand all pieces of this puzzle
It was fully working... Camera and all.. This rom is what allowed me to fix, partially, the camera for Cm7 and miui. I just don't have the rom anymore on my computer

Well I guess if it's too hard for you then it's up to use to try to copy what you did earlier. My first crack was utter failure. Time to try again.
First just,install with bravo boot.img swapped into t mobile zip... It will boot... Then change out files slowly so you know what works and what doesn't

I made a port from DEFY froyo, everything was working exept for the photo camera as always.
I followed rdannar steps.
I made it from an ADLX froyo rom, it was flasheable and everything was fine.
Im losing all my hopes of getting a working photo camera with gingerbread.
Its camera files everyone knows about. Lib.gsl files. Lib/hw files lib/egl files. Probably a couple i'm missing

Cyanogenmod 7 is CM7, just the full title. Also the nightlies are daily/weekly builds with updates in them to improve the rom functionality. Every so often a break can happen, which is promptly fixed.
Man my rom is st ill synergy with no kernels or nothing, time to update

I would think it comes with the cm kernel I always flash one when I flash the ROM for sbc.
And wifi is working for me I'm on 180 and I was on 200 earlier today and it worked but 180 is working perfect for me I was getting reviews on 200 and didn't have time to set up 201.

Exactly...like the rom, set up, and what you were doing / what you did prior to when it started happening.
Been rooted for awhile it started I was running New Energy build. Tried wiping everything an flashed again dud same thing. So I flashed Warm two point three still wont install apps
