Anyone tried it on their Arc? Does the color become noticeably worse? I really wish I could just avoid all the smudges on my Arc's screen (and the glossy black cover.. if such thing exist)
Ive orders some and will report back, the ones on my galaxy s give it a pixeilated tint but thats more than worth the for a non smudgy surface.
Had one for my X10, it works well to stop reflections and glare and also reduces fingerprints, but it makes the screen slightly blurry. So It wont look as sharp. Is it usable? Sure, but I prefer regular ones.
Ive ordered mine, will giv the results later..
Had one on my x8, not too noticable in terms of screen quality but its better than hav a smudges on the screen
So... has anyone tried it?

Would it be possible for you to post some pictures for comparison?
I have used matte anti-glare screen protector but I remove it after using a week.
There are no finger print on the screen but the sharpness of the screen resolution will become less sharp so I change back to clear screen protector after that.
Just my sharing.

Sorry for bumping my 1 week old thread
Did you remove the built-in screen protector when applying the anti-glare one? Is there any difficulty when removing it? need some tips on this.

Hello folks,
as title, i have two little scratches on my desire's glass.. damned sand!!! ok, i want to remove them, in some forums i have read about displex, a paste that can make scratches magically vanish.. But in their site, they recomends to NOT use on touch-screen displays... How can I remove this fuxxing scratches???? Thx
displex is really bad for our screens , I tried on a HTC HD .. was a total failure . I d say to avoid it .
No ideea how to remove the scratches tho ..
well, i think i'll write to htc..
Would the toothpaste work? I use it for old CDs and clear model parts, it's basically very fine polishing compound. But then again, that was plastic, and this is glass.
Don't think you're going to get the scratches out - since t is glass.
stick a screen protector ontop. it minimised the visibility of existing scratches. I had a few scuffs... can't see them anymore with the screen protector

Is it better to use Ultra Clear or antiglare screen protector?
Which is better to make scratches "disappear"?
Thx.

I'm using Martin shields. I've read a lot of reviews if different screen protectors and that consistanly got good reviews. After using it for a few weeks, I can see why.

Well I got my matte screen protector today. I bought it from Netimes.com and so far its working quiet well at keeping the fingerprints at bay. Before when I was using the stock screen protector and then without any protectors I always had a ton of ugly looking fingerprints and face grease.
It's also quiet good at cutting down the glare, but there are a few downfalls
1) it causes the screen to look more pixated. It's especially noticable on white backgrounds
2) it causes your contrast to drop 5% or so from the normal
still worth it so far, but these problems, especially the first one is quite annoying

yeah same problem with the one I bought on brando.com, it's perfect for its resistance and quality, but the screen looks as yours. maybe I'll try the other one not matte
Anyone has tried Zagg invisible shield? i bought one but i havent installed it yet, i want to know if its worth the effort.... and the money too lol
The stock one is much better, Zagg is kinda hard on the screen makes it more difficult to swipe or slide something.

I know they posted this topic for other phones but i just got these anti glare protectors for the tb and they blow ass! I just asked for the plastics and didn't look. i didn't even know they made this garbage. Reduces the quality of your screen tremendously! So if you buy screen protectors make sure they are not anti glare..because they suck......really bad
To each his own. I prefer anti-glare/fingerprint over all other screen protectors. I used them on my Droid 2 and now use them on my ThunderBolt.
The negative, as you said, is reduced screen quality, but to me the pros outweigh the cons. I love not having to see ugly fingerprints/smudges across the screen, as well as being able to see the screen in the sun.
I agree, I can't stand the anti glare/fingerprint screen protectors. It was nice to not have fingerprints all over my screen, but definitely not worth the diminished quality of the screen. Everything was cloudy and full brightness looked like it was on halfway. They do blow!
Steinheil Ultra Fine
Have one of these on my TBolt. Changes the texture of the screen, but works incredibly well. Comes with two in a pack, kind of a steep price, though I find them better than the Zaggs which are kinda.... too slick?
They reduce glare by a good margin, fingerprints are much less noticeable (pizza grease from idiot friends still shows up) and will protect the screen from most scratches you can throw at it

Does it affect brightness?
i guess your right the fingerprint factor is good but i use slingbox and watch my cable on the phone and it makes the video very grainy. seems like video is darker. after getting used to the hq screen, i cant get used to it. like you said to each their own
Not really. I have my brightness set to about 60 and its still pretty good. Not gonna lie, you can tell theres something on the screen, but the texture of it plus the reduction in fingerprints is just amazing. Will always have a steinheil protector on my phone from now on

Yes they do, I used to have one on my phone and my dad had the ultra crystal and with the brightness turned up on both phones mine was like half as bright.
I just replaced my ultra fine with the crystal clear. Best decision yet! Now I can actually see how colorful the lcd is, before it was too cloudy.

Just got the Ultra Fine after using the Verizon screen protector. Very disappointed. Verizon protector had a lot of glare in the sun, and fingerprints but could easily be wiped off. Ultra Fine kills my colors, is just as difficult to see in the sun, and shows a rainbow effect on white webpages/documents. I'm sending them a complaint and some pictures, paid way too much for this... texture is nice though!
They even advertise on the package "no rainbow effect" urgh.
wow im surprised so many people rather reduce the quality of their screen over a little glare or finger smudge. i guess if you watch a lot of video on your phone, you can deal with the glare like i do. they are nice not to wipe your phone all the time, but the way they pixelate the screen drives me nuts
Hi,
I finally got SGP Ultraclear screen protector and installed it successfully last night. It is very clear and screen looks same as before. But I found a few issuea which I didn't expect.
First, I can easily see a lot of finger prints. It was not noticeable when there was no protector but now I can clearly see it.
Second I also can see rainbow effect from side view. It is hard to see from normal angle though.
I may take off this protector later. I am wondering if this is normal.

That is the biggest downside to the Ultra Clear. That's why I get the Ultra Fine nowadays but to each their own.
i go screen-protection-less because its gorilla glass.

gorilla glass is scratch resistant, not scratch proof.
and the galaxy note doesnt have gorilla glass. it has a form of hardened glass, but its not gorilla glass. or so ive read in one of the threads here.
personally, i prefer to have a screen protector for those times you accidentally drop your phone on something or you drop something on your phone. i cant stand scratches on displays since they tend to refract light and annoy the hell out of me.
i think u should go with SGP ultra optics screen protector , i havent tried it personally but people been saying good things about it.
what concerns me about it is that does it affect the display an way or another ? grainy effects ?
for the moment i have a Brando ultra clear screen protector , its very good and clear but its a fingerprint magnet , supposedly with SGP ulta optics u should get ultra clariness and no fingerprints.
would love some feedback from someone who already tested it
cheers

Do u recommend it mate? The ultra optics?
if the display quality remains the same,& no finger prints, then I might consider it offer my Brando ultra clear screen protector

I recommend it! I don't think the term 'blur' applies, clarity is still there and no finger prints. Best of both worlds!

highly recommend! It may be the best anti fingerprint protector, tried the anti fingerprint from SGP on SG2, many "color spots", ultra optics has NO "color spots" produce, of coz it not as clear as the ultra crystal, but really worth it.

it mentions that it does not have gorilla glass.
some places mention it has gorilla glass, some doesnt.
its not listed on the samsung website and its not listed on the corning website so i'd say we cant confirm or deny it. all we do know is that the galaxy nexus isnt using gorilla glass either, its using hardened glass. so the best we can hope for is that the galaxy note is also using hardened glass.

I purchased the same product from Amazon. It is really clear and does fit the whole screen, even has a cut out for the home button. Went on relatively easily without the need for a solution. Cant even tell it on there.
It's not a solution aided style protector, if you add solution you will ruin it.
The trick is being in a clean room with no air flow, then you can have as many goes as you want without getting too much dust, and what you do get you can remove with the dust removing sticker.
I got 3 Screen Guard protectors with a TPU S-Case from eBay. I really had no interest in the protectors, but I like it a lot better than I thought I would. Fingerprints don't wipe off completely but they seem to blend in with the plastic. You almost can't see them anyway when the screen is on. I see no rainbow effect and there is no image distortion unless the screen gets too oily.

Cracks me up every time I read something like this
I used to be very careful up til the day my wife got a screen protector installed by a guy in the Beijing subway (yeah, anything can be done at those subway exits). And believe me, it is windy, and dusty! Those who may know Beijing know how true that is
Result really is perfect....
Sorry don t mean to offend, just funny to see how good care we put into it and seeing how one guy sitting in a dusty, windy area can pull it off just as well
Cheers
No offense taken
But, keep in mind that the dude in the subway is experienced, it takes him 15 seconds prob to clean + fit + charge you.
Where as normal user who have done it maybe 3 - 5 times, will need more time!

Its a great screen protector, plus they give you two. Its thick, clear and so far doesn't seem to cause any display issues. The fingerprints wipe off easy enough.
any chance you can show us the cut out? is it a 4 edge hole at the bottom instead a U shape?
Hello guys!
So, I'm big matte fan tip of guy. Love matte finish.
And I want you know if you know a excellent screen protector, because I'm done with these cheap one from ebay.. They get easily scratch and I definitely hate rainbow effect.
Any suggestions?

Some hate it, but I love it. I like the matte look and the feel. No smudges or finger prints too.
The cons, top and bottom don't stick because of the curved screen. They should have made it a little smaller, but doesn't really bother me. Noticeable pixelation of screen and rainbows on whites, but that's normal with matte screen protectors.

I was hoping to find a similar SP but without rainbow effect and it would last a lot.
These "6x screen protector" for 5 bucks usually last for 3 weeks and they suck.

Impossible. The light diffusion is the reason why you get the rainbow effect, you can't have one without the other.

Are you saying that I can't have a screen protector without rainbow effect? I have seen a lot that haven't, but none of them with matte finish.

I had the Basal ones, but it had a LOT of rainbow effect to it. I recently got this (link above) and I love it. Still has some rainbow effect and reduced clarity of screen quality, but its much better than the Basal one IMO.
