If you bought your EVO 4G new, Sense came preinstalled as on all EVO 4G devices.

He's running the Jiminy IV ROM, not sure if he flashed it or bought it that way, but also a sense ROM.

Its something you either have or you don't. Most of the time the word common is placed in front of it and most people don't have that either.

The simple answer to your first question is:
Sense is HTC's own software they put on top of Android.
For example Motorola uses Android's software, without any changes to it. Which is why their phones are called "AOSP"(Android Open Source Project).
HTC, however, felt they wanted to advertise their own **** and put their "Sense" on top of Android, thus called Sense Roms.
Advantages and disadvantages to both. Choose whichever suits your needs more. I prefer Sense roms though. Sprint Lovers being my favorite since I can remove all the crappy carrier roms (Sprint Nascar, etc..) without all the added feature.
I like simplicity.
That is correct, but doesn't Motorla use Motoblur on most of there phones? Nexus S is an example of a phone that comes with AOSP.

I've only used Moto Droid and Droid X. They were AOSP.
Its the UI overlay that comes with the phone. It can be removed if you like. Its like what blur for motorola or well there are others...

All of the Froyo ROMs that first surfaced were AOSP I believe. There are plenty to choose from.

You can just turn off sense and use a normal android interface.

No, you can disable the Sense home launcher. You can't fully disable Sense by any stretch of the imagination without an AOSP ROM.

i believe it's still going to be rc1, so not everything is going to be working (wimax and hdmi come to mind right now).
but yes, still more than likely to be more polished than sense.
yea i saw the one rom looked pretty proising(except said there were still some issues here and there with it) i was hoping for a pretty much final build all done and good to go! oh well i can wait a bit longer i have a nexus one now so no big rush!

AOSP means Android Open Source Project
AOSP roms have Android that isn't molested by anyone else besides Google. No fluff added.

Is there a way I can get sense Widgets on there now or do I have to wait for the rom to be rebuilt with sense? And if so is any one working on that yet?

Check the Vibrant forums. You'll be happy you have the G2.
And in response to the post, I haven't tried MIUI myself, but I have a friend who absolutely loves it. I like having Cyanogen just because it looks stock. I've been using the Android OS since version 1.0 with the G1, and I've grown comfortable with the layout.

well as you may know thunderbolt hardware is almost the exact same as the evo so with a thunderbolt port it makes hdmi support on sense 2.0 roms possible and along with better camera support and also makes 4g possible since this will be the first port coming from a phone with 4g support im am looking forward to this
I am really looking forward to a thunderbolt port for exactly the reasons mentioned above. Basically a revised evo.

I am working on this, but i dont have alot of time. I Have it in my head on how the files should be,but havent goton to it yet, ill try tomorrow, but most likely(likely, not an eta) this week end i should have some progress(progress?)
its based off of froyo, so stock evo kernel will work.
First of all the thunder bolt is not that much alike to the evo, its a desire HD variant.
Different processors, diff 4g (no 4g on this port) and no HDMI is on the thunderbolt. Just because a phone has a 4.3 screen and is made by HTC doesn't mean its the same as the evo ...
The only thing this offers is CDMA sense 2.0.
Calkulin has been working on one

Yeah, and from what i understand they are really busy making ports, and some are probably trying to get the 2.3 with sense ported, as that would be huge for people.
Pretty big difference in hardware there, although it has a cdma radio so that is a plus.

I'm pretty sure the Thunderbolt has no HDMI output, just DLNA. Where it wirelessly transmits audio/video to compatible TV's and devices.
Next time do a search and post your question in the right section! No one is going to speed things up just because you and your mall buddies want a port of something!
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=910652
I wouldn't really worry about a thunderbolt port because there really isn't that much it had to offer. Evo already has a few Sense 2.0 roms and several excellent ports that offer somethings not available on the standard Evo rom. Plus htc is coming out this year with Sense 3.0. That is what I would like to see.

Just flash Virus Inspire 4G its the same version and it has landscape which the thunderbolt does not. I've created a version of Viruses ROM in my HD thread you may want to take a look at it.
Is there a ROM for the SGS2(Epic Touch 4G) with Sense? Is that even possible? I have yet to flash a ROM on any of my rooted devices and curious if there is a ROM with Sense so I can flash it on my SGS2.
There are not currently any Sense roms. In theory its possible but I don't know of anyone working on one for our phone.
You can get close with certain apps on the market.
Honestly, I like Touchwiz better in every way except for the launcher.

you answered your own question lol.
It's not a simple port. It's pretty much the same reasons why cm9 AOSP AOKP isn't fully functonal.
it takes a lot of work to get bits and pieces to start working. Most Developers want clean slate ROMs that's where CM9 AOSP and AOKP comes in.
Unfortunately/fortunately for us, there isn't a developer in the t989 forum that likes sense enough to put their time and effort into porting... more like building... sense for our phone. They also don't want to risk bricking their phone.
