Just some questions to see if anyone has got this done before ..
1. Is there any app to link different emails and phone numbers like on sense?
2. I have disabled the stock lockscreen but still whenever i answer calls i have to rotate the locker. I hate the standard locker and thts the reason i bough widget locker. After disabling the stock lockscreen i thought i would be done with the ugly rotary but its still there. Anyway to get rid of it completely?
3. I love the miui music player and the sense camera. I know its impossible to get the sense camera on cm7. I downloaded a couple of miui music and miui cam apps but they are all either in chinese or dont isntall. Does anyone have a working miui cam and music that they can share?

You can do that by going into contacts, select edit contact, press menu and click on join. This will give you the same result.

MIUI Camera...Its working on CM7, just copy under /system/app and give the same permissions as stock camera.....reboot and you are done....

And that worked too . thanks. there are some minor issues with the spacing and text wrapping, but i think i can live with this. thanks a lot. Any chance on the music app???

I haven't tried that to work on CM7 though I have it at home. I am at work right now will try to send it once I reach home, which will be in another 5-6 hours...

Did not work. I searched for another one on google. I'll try that one now and let you guys know.
I tried the 3d gallery i found and it seems to be running as good as the stock one did. I'll update this if thats not the case. I have Vanilla 2.2 messaging and gallery. It is partially hybrid
Can you please port the .apk you found? My gallery app is acting up and doesn't read my pics. I'm rooted running stock de-odexed rom and am planning on deleting it and re-installing it..thanx

Still doesnt read my sd card..I've tried everything and it still wont read my pics Can anyone post the files in the thumbnail folder that obviously aren't the actual thumbnail pics??
FYI, this seems to break some of the options in the Sense Camera. The menu/gallery softbuttons don't seem to work consistently.

I dont quite get what your referring to. Explain it a little better.
He's talking about the little picture on the top right corner right that comes out after you take a picture..Now when you click it, it does nothing..instead of opening the picture.

And the bottom-most button below the "camera shutter" button in the Camera App. It looks like a little SD Card and normally takes you to the "gallery", HTC's Album. I'm thinking we have to change the link somehow.

The player need more work it crashes randomly and not as smooth.

mine doesn't crash.. icon top left takes you to the list.. but doesn't crash

The same player, but maybe this one isnt buggy... I will give it a try.
Edit: I just tried it for few seconds and it seems to be free of bugs, but it still eats lot between 20-30mb of ram. The jumpertest app also gets installed but I don't know for what it could be useful

Just tested, mine crash too :/ (DocRom 9.5)
Edit : even after a reboot.
Also, moving into the song is a little bit buggy (sometime can't move backward or forward twice, screen doesn't respond), not a big deal.
Anyway, thanks for the hint nanu_x2, first impressions : look very nice!
The player seems to work fine, apart from audio skipping when trying to run in background.
I am on latest docrom js5, using wp7 theme on 200dpi.
Also running latest speedmod with all audio enhancements on.
Still buggy on JS5 doc rom I tried to open it twice and it had an instant FC. I could open it on the third try...
Maybe we need aome new lib files..

Same for me on my JS5 deodexed.
I'm on Doc JS5 and the player is very smooth, no problems so far.
I just hope that the final version comes with a couple of more features.

Test it for around 15 minutes while doimg some other tasks like installings aps or browsing rhe web. It has also some bugs and scrolling is also buggy sometimes.

while cm7 and other AOSP roms can, either directly, in display brightness settings, or through apps (screen filter, Moon + reader etc)? The same apps don't work with the softkeys in sense.
Am currently on cm7, mainly because of the darn softkeys blinding me while reading or watching vids.
And is there a camera app for cm7 that does auto focus, like the HTC camera app? And how about internet pass-through?
It seems I need a combination of both types of Roms!
Have you tried the Miui Camera? I was using it with CM7. It's pretty nice, has Autofocus as well as Antishake.
It can be installed as a system app and replace the stock camera (rename the apk to camera, and place in the system app folder and change the permissions. or just install as a stand alone app. I chose to replace my stock camera.

I just installed it! First time I had a chance to use the barcode scanner.
Nice app! Is there a way to zoom in using video? And can I use the front camera with it? I haven't found an option for that, so far.

I don't know of any way to zoom on the video.
I have the front facing camera option on the left hand side of the screen near the top. It has a camera with arrows around it. I'm not sure if it is on the version I linked though. I've switched back to the Miui rom and using the lastest version 1.9.9 which has the front facing camera option (works for both camera and video)... I can try and pull the apk and see what happens if I flash it to CM7 later...

PS: I'm still hoping someone can explain why there is no control over the softkey lights in sense roms.
For example, screen filter and Moon + reader can both turn them off using AOSP roms, but the same apps cannot in Sense roms.
Is this something that is easy to add and nobody else wants this function, or is there something in the sense roms making it hard to incorporate?
Tried flashing the camera from the latest Miui build (1.9.9) in CM 7... no luck, just force closes.
I'm sure there may be someone out there that knows what needs to be modded to make it work. I wish I did...

I enjoy being able to kill mine when reading books. It's a nice feature to have. Crazy that on the sense based roms that dimming the display doesn't effect the soft key back lighting like it does on the Aosp roms Crazy..

The Fixed2 version doesn't have FFC support. There is also a TEST1 version which has enabled the FFC for some. The link in my signature will take you to the post about Fixed2 but it also links to TEST1. I'm currently working on the version from 1.9.2 so if you want to try it out, PM and I'll give you the download link. The only reason I'm not just posting for everybody right now is so people on various devices/roms give feedback about what needs fixed and tweaked.
As far as why we can't take the app right from MIUI and have it work is because it's dependent on pieces of the MIUI framework. Basically, to make it work the apk needs to be decoded and have some of the framework added to it. Would be a lot easier if MIUI was open source.
Lollipop zip provided by: asif4self & MarshMallow zip provided by @bumpaneer. I am just posting these for everyone to use. Be sure to thank them both!
There have been issues reported of not getting calls at all, if that's the case be sure to have a nandroid, no one mentioned in this thread will be responsible for anything that happens to your device.
For the record this will remove stock sense dialer so make sure to make backups!
How to install:
1. Download zip Lollipop here - MM here
2. Place in SD or EXTSD if you downloaded on your computer.
3. Reboot to recovery.
4. NANDROID (seriously don't get mad at me or @asif4self or @bumpaneer if anything goes wrong and you don't have your own backup)
5. Wipe Dalvik Cache + Cache.
6. Install zip.
7. Reboot and enjoy!
If you have any questions just ask here. Also, don't forget to thank @asif4self & @bumpaneer.

It works! Didn't have sound for a bit, but it's up and working now.
As for professing love in a manly way, it's a lot of fumbling my words and kicking the dirt and I stare at my feet. Oh, and I possibly offend you unintentionally.

Thank you for this i like the GPE dialer instead of the sense one
I still use ExDialer, but would love to switch to GPE if I could get the same look out of it... black with dial-pad taking up less than half the space and at least 3.5 contacts from Call History showing at the top (plus swipe contact row right to call or left to txt).
Is any of that possible with any mods?

My keypad works just fine during calls? What's your setup? Maybe try wiping app data via settings>apps>all and choose phone then clear data.
No dice. I had messed with trying to install GPE Dialer before finding this mod, so tomorrow I'll RUU and try it fresh to see how it goes.

Working fine with stock rom and Viper for me. Was buggy for the first few calls though, but seemed to settle in.

Are you rooted? I'm running non-rooted stock Dev Edition ROM. Flashed the zip but new dialer does not show up. Still have Sense dialer and cannot find the GPE Phone icon in app drawer. I can see in the app in all Apps but no way to open the app.

I am rooted yes ... If sense still shows up means it didn't flash right... Or maybe disable sense phone app in settings>apps and reboot see if it shows up.

Keep in mind, it was buggy for me for about 5 minutes. Been working fine since.
I'll install one more time and give it a few hours. Is there any chance this is a problem for me because I'm on Verizon? Are dialer/phone mods like this carrier/radio agnostic?
