[Q] CM7: Sound Quality - Desire HD Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello there,
is it possible to get better sound recording quality in cm7?
All Videos and voice records got a very terrible sound quality, wasn't so on Gingerbread Sense Roms...
Any way to change it?

no idea anyone?

noisy sound in camera recording

when I play recorded video with my oneX I hear the noisy sound.
What I do ?
Can you explain more? What sort of sound?

Stereo sound recording is broken (and, presumably, of dubious worth).

Improve audio

been away for too long and lost track of tricks to improve audio volume on Gnex, especially on notifications (not only music).
Anything new and really working?
Mostly interested in improving volume for notifications through external speaker.
Thanks
MegaBassBeats is the way.

Sorry but I must say a huge... NO
As an audio enthusiast, Beats must be the ****tiest sound I've ever heard.
There is/was an app called "Volume+" which is said to work pretty well. Though I can't confirm it.
Otherwise some ROM's and Kernels do have a bit of volume boost built in.

volume+ was working with ics but broke with jb...
plus I need only volume increase on ext spkr for notifications
I fixed mine with trinity kernel. They have an audio slider that helps with that.
On the topic of audio is there any way to control the gain of the mic when recording video?

I've been pretty pleased with Misledz's work over here. Works well for JB to improve audio quality and boost volume.

There is a pinhole-size notch in the top edge of the rear cover, toward the right side as you look at your phone from the back. Behind that is supposedly a second microphone that is used when recording video. There have been complaints that it is set far too sensitive, and garbles the audio in loud environments. I don't know of any way to adjust it with software. You could try reducing the MIC's sensitivity by holding your finger over the pinhole.

Voxer sound quality

Does anyone use Voxer and notice that the mic quality on the Inspire/Desire sucks? So much background noise it picks up.

please replace the [dot] thanks
Does anyone have the same problem?
Same here. Recording high frequencies causes same screeching type sound in videos.

ahhh, I guess there are limitations to this device. their music was a bit loud anyway. I did several recordings and the audio seemed fine albeit not crystal clear as it's only a smartphone.
Ive noticed similar problems with all of the galaxy s/note phones ive owned. Its improved alot from the galaxy s1 though where to much high or low noise would sound distorted. I noticed that using a pair of headphones with the built in mic helped me a bit on older phones but I have yet to try it on my note 2. Maybe if there was a audio tweaking mod like voodoo that we could try?

Best Audio Mod for LGOG

There are quite a couple of audio mods for the LGOG, I would like to know which one do you guys prefer best?
I currently have the Beat audio mod but I only chose this I had great experience with this mod before.
Are the other mods any better?
Please share your comments.

I found that incorporating the beats Audio scripted in my old s2 always outrageously distorted the bass, even while using beats Audio headphones. Now I just use power amp and it does the trick

I tried so many mods like acid and beat but the best so far is power amp like kmull4 said. You get powerful bass and rich highs. It actually adds more power to those Hz.
I've only used Acid +nooxide and love it. As long as you don't push the effects too hard. The" wider" sound option is actually achieved by manipulating phase coherency which if overdone will result in some may nasty sounding audio. I'm curious about power amp. Are you guys dust using the built in eq settings on the app?
Ps: I'm an audio engineer so I'm always looking for the best sound possible
Yeah built in. Way better than DPS manager

For me yes. I've used a lot of music apps and I feel that this is the best one. Although in your case being an audio engineer, you might want to check out jet audio in the play store. It has more options to change the sound.

Are you really surprised that Beats distorts bass with all the artificial bass added in for no reason in the first place?

Lol no I'm not, but I read that some people claimed it gave them better clarity. Unfortunately that wasn't the case for me

Thanks for the heads up on jet. I'll check that it out for sure. The ui is kinda meh though but that's secondary to the sound IMO. I am really digging noozy player. Especially the podcast section. That's a nice feature.

I have really good headphones that support a high current/voltage. I put up the dB on the DPS manager and it gets distorted. With the poweramp it does make the freq. more clear and powerful.
Poweramp and good headphones are all I've needed for clarity. Even without fiddling with EQ the clarity is good.
