I am running the stock ROM after having issues with CM7, I have cleared ALL cache and partions on the phone and remove the SD card. Anytime I go to install any app from the market I get Download was unsuccessful, please try again.

When you flashed the stock rom, did you go into recovery and do a complete wipe/factory reset beforehand? What version of the Market app are you using? You may want to try clearing the Market app's cache or uninstalling the Market app's updates.
Yep that was the first thing I tried. I ended up calling Sprint, HTC and Google. All with out any luck. So What I ended up doing was going all the way stock back to unrooting the phone. I then tested the market and it worked fine. Odd how it would affect 3 different roms, CM 7, 6 and stock. I have managed to root it again and it still works. Something goofy to say the least.
That is weird, but hey, you got it taken care of, my friend. Take care and enjoy the rest of your day...

Hello potential helpers in the CM community.
So long full days work or android updating story short, I was running 7.0.2.1 and updated to 7.0.3 with rom manager. I decided to not wipe all data, but to just clear the dalvik cache. After the update all the apps tried to reinstall again. I tried to do a titanium backup restore on top of that and everything froze up. I rebooted and tried again. Same thing happened. So i reverted to the nandroid 7.0.2.1 and did the entire thing over again but this time wiped the cache, and the same thing happened. So I wiped the data and cache, did a nandroid restore to the original 7.0.2.1 and then tried to do some different options. i changed up th order in which I did a restore, what cached I cleared, and anything I could think of. But Now I am stuck at either my nandroid 7.0.2.1 or 7.0.3. Both of these ROMs work fine with no issues EXCEPT whenever I try to install an app it fails. I have cleared the market app data and cache, but nothing seems to work. Any ideas?
Thanks
2 things.......
1. You should have posted this in the CM7 thread.
2. I would try reloading a fresh market .apk and see if that takes care of your issue. Usually just clearing cache and data will take care of those issues.

Also its good to make it a habit to flash ROMs in recovery after a cache and dalvik wipe instead of using RM

I will try that
Firstly, sorry have not been on XDA scene cm7 was out, didnt even check for that, and secondly I will try that. Thanks for the tips

NP good luck, hopefully re-flashing market fixes your issues. You can find the .apk floating around XDA. Let me know if it work.
fixed
So I ended up just reverting back to the nandroid and then flashing 7.0.3 before I reflashed the market. However the market worked fine right after reflashed the new version of CM. I did not change anything from what I did in the past, but it is fixed. Thanks for your. help.

Anytime. Glad everything is back to normal.
I recently updated to Fresh Evo 4.1.1.0. I have noticed that right after sending a message, the messaging app FCs. I have not wiped anything prior to updating to this. I jumped straight from 3.5 to this, and was informed if coming from 3.1 or higher, no wipe was necessary. I did try clearing the data in manage applications.
I would advise going back, wiping, the reflash it, as it could clear up the problem.
Thank you!

Hi, I received a Samsung I9000. Would not go past "s".
Used odin to flash to Gingerbread- still would not boot. Flashed to stock 2.2.1.
Takes long to boot, then force close keeps on popping up for all applications installed. After startup, I noticed the same user data and applications on phone. I tried *2767*3855#. No luck. Booted into recovery and wiped cache and formatted, no luck. What else can I do?

AFAIK as long as you still notice same user data on phone, you won't get any luck repairing force closes.
Try to wipe data/factory reset first, then do flash any stock Gingerbread with repartition checked using Odin.
After that, you should have a clean ROM without FC.
Then it is best to redownload your installed apps from market.
If you would like to restore your apps using Titanium Backup try just to restore app only (without data).
Good luck and cheers...

Sorry if it's a repost but I am trying to upgrade from T999UVLH3 to T999UVDLI3 but it fails as I have to go back to stock. What is the recommended way to downgrade to ICS from JB without wiping everything on my phone? or is there none? From what my search has resulted till now I will have to wipe everything, but i thought ill just confirm.
If i have to wipe everything then can i just use kies to do factory restore? I am using Mybackup to back everything up.
You really should be wiping everything every time you flash something.....

You could try just wiping the system.
If it doesn't work, then you will need a complete wipe. Question - did you have any complete nandroid backups

I used Mybackup to do a back. Is it good enuf?
Also i just read that I can't do a factory reset. I will have to download the stock rom and ODIN flash it. I am currently downloading T999UVALH2_T999TMBALH2_TMB.zip. Is this a correct stock rom?

Don't want to sound rude in anyway but you really need to just put your phone down and do some reading. Or you are going to end up with a really exspensive paper weight. If you have not even heard of odin you should not be messing wihmth any modems or radios because the wrong modem will brick the **** out of that shiny new SIII. Like I said no disrespect and we were all new at this at one point. But just take some time and do some reading. Google can be your best friend and the more you learn the more you will end up getting out of your device

Follow those steps and you should be good.
I flashed DLI3 right on top of LH3 using mobile Odin without wiping anything except Dalvik.
android.process.media started crashing after the reboot, but clearing cache and data for media storage took care of that.

I did that too but when it was crashing this idea didnt occur to me. So i flashed stock on top of it. Now its stuck on "FIRMWARE UPGRADE ENCOUNTERED AN ISSUE", kinda bricked. What do i do?
Try to boot back into download mode and odin back to stock.
There really is a reason these updates have to be applied a certain way. Sorry you had to find out one of them. Shortcuts CAN brick your device!

Look for "Media Storage" in the Applications manager list within System Settings. It will be under the "ALL" tab. Force Stop it then clear data and cache. If that doesn't fix it, disable it completely. You can tell that everything's been fixed if you open your Play Store without triggering a crash. Once it's fixed, you'll need to re-enable media storage again, and reboot.

Hey, everyone. I've recently come across an issue with Google Play. I'm running CyanFox 2.0.1 which is Android 4.4.2. I don't believe this is a ROM issue. I haven't bothered to wipe and reflash yet. I came across this issue about a week of running CyanFox 2.0.1, so it didn't pop up right away. Anyways, the issue is that I can not update any apps. When I open the Play Store and go to my apps, it tells me there aren't any updates. I know this is wrong because if I open up Aptoide, it tells me there are updates for my apps. However, if I try to update via Aptoide, I get an error that says the App Package name already exists and it can't install. Not sure what is going on, but I'm hoping there is an easy fix without having to wipe and reflash everything.
Thanks

You could try to remove your google account and then re-add it. I've been running this rom w/o issue for almost 3 weeks (unofficial and now official) of course I started by using the wipe for new rom option in Philz recovery (under factory reset)
As always, a clean flash is always recommended (the XDA mantra) :highfive:
You could also try clearing Party Store data and cache in the app manager first.

Thanks for the suggestion! I did clean flash when I originally flashed the ROM, I just didn't want to wipe everything and reflash just to get the apps to update. I tried removing and re-adding the account without any luck. I think I'll just wait for the next CyanFox build before I wipe anything. Thanks for the suggestion, though

I did wipe the Play Store data without any luck. It's not too big a deal, I can just wait for the next CyanFox build. Thanks!

Yeah, I've read their site and I don't know what their ROM cycle is. Not weekly as the Official came out the 18th.

I was looking around their Google + page and found a post that said they're trying to get builds out at least once a month. I know they just upgraded their servers, so build times are much shorter now. But yeah, I don't think they really have a release schedule. They're doing a good job, though. Looks like their user base is growing quite rapidly
yeah they're doing really great. I can't wait to see whats next.
