As the title says, I can't mount my SD card in CWM to flash my zip files. My theory is that I might be missing something because my last SD card got killed while in my phone and this is a new card. Also when I boot up the phone the SD is accessed normally, only unaccessible while in CWM.

Need more info. What are you trying to access, what version of Clockwork, what ROM? Have you tried rerooting?
I'm just trying to access a folder on my SD card to flash my zip files. I'm currently running SRF 1.1.0 with vision kernal 1.0 and CWM 3.0.0.6 on ext4. And I'm still rooted, just using a different SD card

I ran into this issue as well and the dev for midnight rom explained that the redirector is broken I had to shut my epic off manually and do the 3 button start up to get into clockwork

Does CWM see anything on the sd card or it refuses to access it at all?

The sd card has never given me an issue, I can always make changes to it and the phone reads it fine. But when I go to recovery mode to flash a rom it gives me an error that it can't mount the sd card. I've already rebooted the phone, took the card out and still the same. Any opinions? Do I have to format the card or something? I really want to avoid that

A noble request. I, too, would like the solution to this if there is one. The specific error I receive is "E:Unable to open ums lunfile (No such file or directory)"
Thank you.

I had same/similar problem and had to format the card in the phone not in a computer. Would not convert to ext4. Back up your card, format, and install CWM. Transfer back your folders. Worked for me..

What he said.
Sounds like your cards have became corrupted. Just back up what you want to save to your pc. Format the sd card using cwm.

I guess I was misreading the post.
I thought you were saying that when you attempted to Mount your SD card you received an error as I did. I had no problems converting to ext4 and installing ROMs, my error only occurs when I attempt to use the Mount SDCard function.

Thanks for that. I wasn't actively looking for the solution as it really didn't bother me that much and just opportunistically jumped at this thread when I saw it.
My apologies.
If you have cwm then.boot onto cwm using the three finger method. If you use an app or adb then you will get that message due.to the redirector.

I think I need to update cmw again, cause I found some ppl with the same problem when they tried mounting the sd card using v3.0.0.6. Is there a newer cmw out? And is there a way to update without using a computer?

More than likely, you need to repartition and reformat your SD card. If you're able to, copy the contents of your card onto your computer. Afterwards, repartition and reformat the card. When you're done, copy a freshly downloaded copy of amon_RA onto your card as well as the rom you want to flash
preferably a freshly downloaded one, and then flash it. Flash the recovery first from the bootloader and then flash the rom.

My phone is working right now it just popped up 3 times I only had to fix it the first time now it just goes away in like a minute also I never partitioned my sd card but I've been thinking of doing it anyway the only thing thats been stopping me is that I've seen people having these kind of problems after partitioning so I guess that doesn't matter anymore LOL.
Thanks for your help.

You're very welcome. As for partitioning your SD card, it's very easy. Probably the easiest is probably with a card reader. It can also be done from within recovery especially with amon_RA. Simply select "partition SD card" and set the parameters to your liking.

ok here is the situation, i got clockwork recovery installed and wiped all data to flash a new rom, but my phone wont read the memory card so i cant flash the rom. How do i mount the phone to move the rom over to the internal storage with clockwork or how do i flash a rom using odin.
Does the phone boot up? If so, are you saying that the SDcard isn't being mounted or are you referring to inside clockwork?
the phone boots up, but i dont know how to put the rom in the phone so clockworks will see it
Im trying to mount the sd in clockwork but my computer is not seeing it, any ideas?
Get an actual sd card
Dont use the phones virtual sd card

In the blue clockwork, go to install zip from sd card, then select the option above the "go back" option, I believe its choose from external or something.
Sent from my SPH-D710 using xda premium
Edit:
you can flash from the external from the external sdcard if you go to
Mounts and storage
and mount emmc - if you have the option. Once that is done go to flash zip from sdcard, then (and this part is counter intuitive but) select
Internal sdcard - and this will actually take you to your external sdcard.

It depends on what kernel your running. Some kernels with CWM are not "fixed" to see the external sd card. To make things worse some of the kernels won't allow usb mounting. I'm on Chris41g's kernel and it does in fact see and flash from the external sd.

Hello!
My Epic 4 G died and today I've bought Epic 4G Touch. Right now it is rooted and installed Clockworkmod recovery 4
Only one problem I don't understand. I took SD card from Epic 4G hoping to restore everything trough Titanium Backup. But I couldn't see nothing from SD Card. Put that SD card to the computer and everything is here. And available space saying that SD card not empty. But how can I use it?
Is this possible?
Help me, please?

That's the problem. Update to new CWM where you can flash from internal or external SD card. Also, I recommended restoring apps only. I don't know if restoring data is a good idea...possible data corruption
Sent from my SPH-D710 using xda premium
Just thought you may need root explorer to copy that file from sd to internal ...or just do it on your computer
Sent from my SPH-D710 using xda premium
Had the same issue coming from my EVO 4G. Just used my computer to transfer over USB into internal memory.
Shortly after flashing CWM 5 (because I searched the interwebs for an answer) I was able to see everything on the SD card again.
The easiest way to fix this is to open titanium, hit the menu button, preference. Scroll down to "backup folder location" then hit "detect" then save and your done.

Yeah, I had this happen with the CWM flashed from Rom Manager. I ended up going back to bytecode64's.

Copy your SD card to your computer (all the files), reformat the SD card in Windows, and then copy your files back on it. Then CWM Touch will see the files.
Thank you, kernelpan1c. Worked perfectly. My next step is to check out your rom. Looks pretty sweet.

I haven't done it with card in the phone. Go get a microSD adapter and format with Windows (considering you have a card reader).

Enable usb mass storage on your phone and windows should let you format it or boot in cwm, go to mount and storage, select mount sd card and then format sd card.
