Hi every one.
Is there a way to active fast boot(quick boot like phone's default) on CM7 Roms?
no answer!
change libs?
port default libs?
other files?
there is no way?
Please clarify.
Do you mean fastboot as in booloader or the fast start up that was an option on stock ROMs?
If the latter then I don't believe there is such an option no. To be honest I never used it. Hardly ever turned my phone off and if I did my life wasn't so busy that I couldn't wait for the phone to boot up.
If you mean bootloader fastboot then press and hold power button.

no
I do not think it is possible
Don't know about cm7 but LeeDrOiD has hibernate in the shutdown menu. Works like a charm and consumes next to no juice. Do you have something similar that would be useful?

It's not possible for the 'Fasboot' in CM7 as Fastboot is a supplement of HTC Sense. However there is an advanced power menu that allows a Hot Restart, however I guess this isnt a Fastboot sorry.

Yeah, many unexperienced users have reported this.
If you are running HTC Sense, and you want to get to the recovery on Fastboot, you have to do this.
Press Restart, Hold Vol - Throughout the Restart. And I mean whilst the device is on and powering down. It'll go crazy and vibrate lots, thats normal. Another fix is just remove the batter and do the Power On + Vol -...
I'm sure its possible to have hibernate (fastboot) in the shutdown menu same as LeeDrOiD? I have fastboot disabled in settings and yes have sense. Lee also has a no-sense patch, but not sure if it actually removes the hibernate option though. You have to throw that question to his thread. Maybe his particular feature is LeeDrOiD and all these custom ROMs including cm7 have their own features. ;-)

Yeah, the title says it all. Does anyone have a zip file that wakes and unlocks the phone by pressing the trackpad twice?
Have looked around but there are no mods for Sense.
Thanks
Edit: Now as the source code has been released, is there a new hope?

I think the problem with this one is that it's kernel specific?
I know it's quite simple to just flash a .zip in order to just wake using the buttons, but wake AND unlock seems to be more difficult...

There are only versions for MCR 3.1 there.
Somewhere the same for FroYo?
I think the source needs to be released by HTC first so we can integrate the mod into newer kernels. The same applies to overclocking Sense roms. We need the source.
No idea when it will arrive either
Ok, thanks
Sorry, perhaps I misunderstand the question. By using trackpad you mean that optical sensor? I don't understand what is in these linked packages, and why there is a broadcom Wifi module and god knows what included....
To activate the button in the middle, you just need to add /system/usr/keylayout/curcial-oj.kl. Grab it from some ready made ROM.
Why would anyone want wake from optical joypad???
That's annoying! What's wrong with lockscreens. (also, the phone will activate in the pocket!)

No, it won't activate in the pocket. I've been using trackpad wake for about 3 months and I've never woken up the phone unintentionally. The power button, on the other hand, is quite easy to press by accident...

Yes, that's true. The power button is quite exposed.
Sorry to both of you. I meant "Unlock" from trackpad is annoying.
I have nothing against wake.
i dont know if it helps but the CyanogenMod does support this feature.
i got it installed with the opendesire rom
bump, now as the source code has been released, is it possible?
It's May, 2011 now!! is it possible T_T
i want that for LeeDrOiD 3.0.5!!
TrackPad to wake is essential !!(trackpad to wake AND unlock is also welcomed )
(Bumping thread for development reasons not just missing around >> no ban :O )
Hey, i am going to maintain here a list of all thing which can be pressed and trigger some events in special occasions. I only know about two yet, thats where the community drops in. Post your find here and i will put it in this list.
Reboot
Hold Vol-Down, Trackpad and press Power
Reboots the system! Instant!
Prerequesite: Kernel must be loaded, so does not work the first few seconds after power on.
Warning:This does not unmount your sd-card or unlock any system files. Its basicly the same as removing the battery and should only be used in case your system crashed and does not react anymore. Think of it as a reset button on your PC, which you wouldnt press as long as windows runs fine.
Credits: myself
Bootloader/HBoot
Hold Vol-Down and press Power
Starts the phone and brings you to HBoot Menu
Prerequesite: Phone must be off for this to work
Notes: Navigate through HBoot/Fastboot with vol-up, vol-down and power as select button
Credits: myself
Bootloader during reboot
Hold Vol-Down and wait
Brings you to HBoot Menu
Prerequesite: Phone must be rebooting.
Notes: Make sure to press Vol-Down early enough. Must be pressed in before the boot-splash-image. Navigation, see above.
Credits: myself
Android safe mode
While phone boots, press and hold menu
starts up android in safe mode.only system apps are started, 3rd party apps are ignored
Prerequesite: None
Notes: You have too hold menu for a long time, from power on nearly until sim code dialogue
Depending on the rom you use, there is a small chance, it won't work, or the rom won't start.

Nice, the reboot trick is quite useful.
Thanks,
I know this one but I think it is common for Android. When your phone is off. Push menu button then power. Don't release menu until you see a message on bottom left of the screen. This mode is secure I.e. it loads only software of the ROM without 3rd applications.

By the way that reboot is not graceful. i.e. your sdcard is not properly dismounted and open files are not closed. It is the same as a battery pull, so I would only use if your phone it totally locked up ...

I would agree and would also suggest that the OP put a warning about this in the 1st post. This reboot method should really only be used as a last resort...
One more (probably well known) function is long-pressing the Menu key to bring up the soft keyboard. It used to work even on the homescreen, but it no longer does ever since Froyo. It will works elsewhere though. Really doesn't serve any purpose, though...
warning added. i am a bit surprised, there are not more combinations. seams we got them all now. wouldnt have started this topic, if i knew its only such few things.

It works on a stock Froyo running sense, but only when you are in an application and not on the home screen.
The reboot could come in handy!

I don't think it will harm the proximity sensor, it just that I don't like to see a red light on the proximity sensor light up when using this app as I guess it use more battery...and that's maybe the reason why they have a time-out to kill the app after certain time. Once the app is killed, you still need to press power on. Anyhow, this is my personal opinion only, nothing against the app; I maybe wrong.

Since Apr 3rd, two days after the HOX officially launched in my country. Do not really notice that, maybe because I seldom use the power button as my device is rooted, using quick boot for reboot, reboot to bootloader & recovery, swipe to power on and so on.
Why are you even rebooting once a day? It isn't necessary and will solve all of your problems.

I am rooted and I would like to keep the "stock" look and would prefer to mod than to install a program. I was hoping there was an Xposed module or a mod that I could simply flash. I guess once I get my computer back (God knows how long that will be), I'll make the module myself and upload it here. I'll wait to see if anyone has suggestions until then.
