LeeDroid 3.0 Questions - Desire Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi there,
because of I have no permissions to post in the official thread of LeeDroid Gingerbread Version I have to do this here.
I read all pages but don't know if the language is now full patched, so that there is evertyhing in the choosen language.
At the moment I use LeeDroid 2.4, can I update without any problems? Full-Wipe required? Any changes on data-format required?

Still the question when / if that will be changed?!

The most apps are in English;
For me worked.
1. flashing radio
2. wipe cache+data
3. flash leedroid
As we are already talking about the latest version.
Is it possible to transfer any Login data of all my wifi networks?

Will there be a fix for a full german (and other languages) support in near future!?
For your question, I dont think so. Perhaps the keys for wifi are saved in a file, but in my opinion this file could be secured.

This was recently asked in the developer thread. We'll see...
I'm currently back to 2.4 and downloading the new 2.4.1

Yes me too
So as many people do at the same time ^^ online 50kb/sek ... with 1mbit connection -.-

Guys, Since i cant post also in dev section, I have to reply here. I need help. After flashing the leedroid 3.0 A2SD, It was just in the HTC screen for 10 minutes. After failing, I tried to restore 2.4 and I got a message "can't mount /dev/block/mmcblk0p2" and hense, I cannot go back.
Tried to boot up and stuck at HTC screen. Now my phone is just sitting there...
Any help guys??

Go back in the recovery and flash your nandroid backup, which you had made before flashing 3.0?!

You have what is called a USB brick! It's happened to me too many times...
you will need to download the android sdk if you don't already have it, and then go to the android sdk 'tools' folder in the command prompt.
then type the following command 'fastboot oem enableqxdm 0' and then 'fastboot reboot'
problems you may have; 'adbwinapi.dll' something like that is not found - a quick search on google should find you what you need!

Trackball
Where is the trackball unlock?

In my opinion this release of 3.0 is an very early one, not like a beta, but also not a RC or Final. So we all have to wait

Well if you have successfully fixed the sd card problem, you should be able to now restore your backup, so do that!

Doing the command prompts is not going to fix your phone yet; it is going to fix the problem you have where you 'Can't mount...' - this is the source of your problem. So if you have done the command prompts then you should be able to access your sd card from recovery and therefore restore the backup you made too; restoring the backup should fix the 'stuck on htc logo' problem you are having

Does anyone know if 3.0 has plans for TUN/TAP support for OpenVPN?

LeeDroid said that help PERHAPS will check if there Iser a solution for the vpn problems.
Now I had flashed 2.4.1. Running stable André without problems.
I will wait some days and check the 3.0 later when it's full stable and translated.

wondering the same... is there an app that saves/restores wifi settings (or a file we can save from the filesystem)

2.4 to 3.0?
Hi all,
Sorry to hijack the thread. But I have some questions on flashing GB 3.0.
My Desire info are as follows:
HBoot 0.93
Radio 32.44.00.32U_5.09.05.30_2
LeeDroid 2.4
I'm considering trying out GB 3.0 but i'm nto sure if the new rom can be supported on my phone (software info as above).
Will anyone the ROM work for me? Can my apps+data from Froyo 2.4 be restored back using Titanium Backup and work on GB 3.0?

What is that second vibration on startup about?

When I first got my phone like many others, it vibrated when the phone first turned on and that's it. After flashing a few radios, I now have and have for awhile, the second vibrate about five seconds after the first. I think I read somewhere what it was, but can't seem to find it now. Did we ever figure out definitively what causes that?
I know in between flashing radios it stopped for awhile, and then came back and has been with me ever since. Not worried about it, just curious. Thank you.

Same here. What is the second vibration on startup all about?
I noticed this after flashing the 04.30 radio over stock.
I know someone knows or at least has an idea!
Sent from my HTC Vision using XDA Premium App
I think it only shows up when you flash radios. I haven't flashed a radio on my past two devices and I have only one vibrate.
Sent from my HTC Vision using XDA App
Shameless bump. I want an answer to this.
Sent from my HTC Vision using XDA Premium App
I think first vibration is when you push button and phone is "okay, got it, I'm booting up" and then second when "I'm ready, you can enter your pin code". I had the same on Spica and there it was useful because it booted about 1 minute.

That makes sense but none of our phones ever did that until we started changing radios. So it's obviously not part of the "normal" boot up process.
I have not changed radios on my phone yet. It is rooted. I get the second vibration also. I have been wondering why it does this also. It did not start doing this until I rooted my phone.
Bumpity..... I'm curious as to why myself

Not that im gonna try it lol, but i wonder if installing a pc10img that unroots, S-ON, and all that would make it go away?

I don't know what causes it but if you want to make it go away try this. Go to ROM Manager and select to download rom > virtuous > virtuous sense 1.0.2. Let it download all the way and then hit cancel, don't flash it. Then do a nandroid from within ROM Manager and it will be gone....back to just a single vibration at boot.
Ext3 vs ext4 ?
Ive Had This Issue A Few Times And After Trying To Fix It I Believe It Could Be Due To CWM Formatting The Devices Partitions As EXT3 When It Should Be EXT4.
Can Anyone With This Issue Please Confirm This By Posting The Result Of Typing "mount" In A Terminal.
Their Should Be A Line Which Says "/dev/block/mmcblk0p25 on /system type" And Then The Filesystem Type.
I Hope That This Is The Cause As If I Am Correct It Will Be An Easy Fix

I noticed a few months ago that after I took virtuous froyo for a test run that my second vibration was gone. Since then I flashed a new radio and the second vibration came back. I thought I'd test what had happened before and low and behold just downloading it with rom manager and creating a backup got rid of the damned thing. One of those wtf moments...lol. It must have something to do with the old vs. new ext. as OllieD suggests.

Just ran that in an ADB shell. Here's what I got:
/dev/block/mmcblk0p25 on /system type ext4 (ro,relatime,barrier=1,data=ordered)

So it's not the formatting. There's another reason why there's a second vibration, but that's really a minor bug.
Misc Partition?
Can Someone With The Bug Please Dump Their Misc Partition?
Run "dd if=/dev/block/mmcblk0p17 of=/sdcard/Misc.img" In A Terminal And Upload The "Misc.img" File From Their SD Card Somewhere ?
Based On The Previous Fix Mentioned I Believe It Could Be To Do With The Way Rom Manager Reboots Into Recovery.
A Command Is Stored Somewhere That Lets HBoot Know Which Mode To Reboot Into.
An Error With This Command Probably Causes The Second Vibrate And When Rom Manager Reboots Into Recovery It Clears This Flag. Although I Remember Flashing Various ROMs Via Rom Manager Without This Issue Being Fixed.

If you can access the bootloader then you are not bricked. If you can get into recovery then the first thing that you should try is to wipe the Cache and Dalvik Cache. If that does not work then something in your data partition may be messed up. The next step would be to wipe Data. You will lose all of you system settings and data by doing this and you will have to reconfigure your accounts and install all of your apps again. If you have a backup (using MyBackup or Titanium) you can restore that just be sure not to restore any system settings that were from a different ROM.

Try this PC36IMG file on your SD card, maybe it will work, or maybe not.

or try running a RUU file from your computer with your phone in Fastboot USB. One can be found here:

I'm not sure if it will work on a macbook.

Thanks for that link. i did finally get fastboot to recognize my evo on my mac but when i try flashing or erasing anything it say failed(status malformed)
Aso had no luck with tha RUU cant get it to connect to my device what do i need to do to get it to even run (somewhat of a noob question)
You've got to put the ruu on your SD card, as PC36img.zip

[Q] flash hboot

Hi guys ! I have a Desire rooted & S-OFF and i want to flash cm7r2 hboot to install Runnymede 6.1 with INT2SD. I've burnt a CD with alpharev.iso and booted on my pc ...but after it recognizes my phone it asks me about recovery, etc. so it wants to S-OFF my device. i don't want that, because i've already done this. i just want to flash cm7r2.so where should i type that "fastboot flash hboot.." etc ? do i need some apps installed to pc? (i use windows 7) Oh,and another thing: i'm using Runny rom. can i flash a hboot with a rom installed on my phone ? or should i wipe everything before that?
Thanks in advance
have you googled or searched in xda?
there is a thread called android flasher. check it out.
thanks, i'll try that ! yes, i searched on google, but i found just about this method, with boot from cd.
go to alpharev site, download the PB99IMG.zip file (or the one attached) put it on your SD card and re-name it PB99IMG.zip. boot you phone into bootloader and it should give you the option of changing the hboot after the initial SD card check. clear data and then reboot back into bootloader and it should have changed. much easier than farting around with fastboot etc.

If you are going to run a Sense based rom, it's ideal that you use a class 4 sd card or higher. I heard class 6 is the sweet spot but I'm not sure.

I am aware that this version of Sebs (?) rom is a beta so may be due to that. I have a class 4 card and every sense rom i have flashed has run ok with relatively little or no lag at all. As a standard, i just use the CM7 r2 hboot with the ad2sd+ scrip from amarullz. still gives 600MBish of internal memory and runs pretty slick

Should give you the option in the aroma installer, need to select custom install. also on the next page of the installer be sure to select market too. (not sure about the 6.1 Beta of seb's rom but on other versions it does, alternatively give the RunnyRom a try )

had RunnyRom before, but i uninstalled it because i believed that htcsense was a problem of the rom, but i've just found on the forum that it's a htc problem (i was receiving the notification "wrong password"). Yes, the option is in the aroma installer, but i 've selected int2sd (thought it's better) .

I would advise against int2sd, but that's on my personal experience. A really good sd card is sandisk 16gb class 4. But samsungs are pretty good as well, as are Adata.

[Q] Unknown problems with my wildfire

Hi everybody. I canot understand what's happening with my phone. It was rooted using revolutionary method. A half of a year everything was fine, then it begins....once I have installed a rom,and when I was changing maybe the kernel or just installing a script, the rom stucks on bootscreen and i couldn't even restore it from backup.. other case I changed once my recovery from 5.0 to 2.5 and when i decided to install back 5.0 i couldn't because none of the known methods helped me....today i tryed to nandroid my current rom(rempuzle) and it was written that it couldn't find the folder android secure(even if the folder exist) and i can't nandroid, after rebooting,my phone couldn't even find my sd card and i couldn't use my apps, now i saved the most important things from my sd and i want to ask you for advice....I am not sure but i still suppose that it could be a bad rooting process or something happened untill i use my phone, what can i do,i thought about restoring my phone to it's original state(cancelling root) and then root it again with another method or there is another logical explication to this issues? pls help.
anyone?
Presumably you can still get in to hboot. If so connect the phone to your pc and put the phone in fastboot USB mode then run a RUU to restore the phone back to stock. You can then start the rooting process again if you so desire.

A half of a year everything was fine, then it begins....once I have installed a rom,and when I was changing maybe the kernel or just installing a script, the rom stucks on bootscreen and i couldn't even restore it from backup.. other case I changed once my recovery from 5.0 to 2.5 and when i decided to install back 5.0 i couldn't because none of the known methods helped me....today i tryed to nandroid my current rom(rempuzle) and it was written that it couldn't find the folder android secure(even if the folder exist) and i can't nandroid, after rebooting,my phone couldn't even find my sd card and i couldn't use my apps, now i saved the most important things from my sd and i want to ask you for advice....I am not sure but i still suppose that it could be a bad rooting process or something happened untill i use my phone, what can i do,i thought about restoring my phone to it's original state(cancelling root) and then root it again with another method or there is another logical explication to this issues? pls help.

I'm not sure - just guessing - but do you have the possibility to use a different sdcard? Or do a complete format (you said you already did a backup) of the sdcard and apply the stuff you need again (apps, ext partition?). In case the card got corrupted a nandroid restore might not help there.
But like I said: just guessing...
You're s-on - right?

right, but I don't understand why I can't do a nandroid I am waiting nearly a half of an hour and at the end it's not done properly,it's corrupted :S

yep that's what I'm thinking. Due to the fact that the android secure folder resides on the sdcard (FAT32) it could be the card (and you can't do partial nandroid...) - but again: just guessing.
ok,I will try
oh yes,btw I don't know if it's important but for me the PC36IMG method never worked....can the sd be the problem here?
I changed the sd and i have done a nandroid(instead of waiting 1 h i waited 10 mins) but the same result Error while making a backup image of /sdcard/.android_secure ! (((

It might be some minor problem that could be solved easier, no idea, you could either remove your apps and their data one by one, check your filesystem if you see something suspicious or wait if someone has a better idea. If you don't want to waste too much time with that I'd suggest you make a full backup of your apps (e.g. with titanium backup), check if contacts, calendar & stuff is synced with google, do a full wipe/factory reset and reflash the ROM.
What ROM are you using at the moment?

I hope you are aware of these things :
>Make sure you don't rename the file "PC49IMG.zip.zip"(Windows hides known file extensions by default)
>Drop the zip file on the root of the SD Card
>Boot to BOOTLOADER and select yes to update
Try different SD card and/or SD card adapter.
PC36IMG.zip!!!!! dont you mean PC49IMG.zip???

hopefully dreamkill3r is also aware of that
I used rempuzle
now I installed a cm based rom and I hope that I will not have problems with it
about the PC49IMG.zip problem,I used a tutorial for flashing roms with this method.so my phone couldn't find this file and ofc it was located at the root of my sd.....but now whe I enter in bootloader,it was written that the system is looking for another file, not PC49IMG.zip but i can't remember the name, can it be a different filename for my phone?
O_O omg,now i rebooted my phone in bootloader to try to read the name of the file and now my phone got stuck on bootscreen....it's done again.......what can i do,i want finally a cm7(i think) based rom maybe with the interface changed(sometimes i dislike the standart look) wich i can use more then a month at least,tu have the best kernel for it and if it's necessary a normal radio version,to not see those troubles again...I don't want to change this phone, but I hate when I nedd to flash a new rom every half of a month and meet those problems again....help pls) or again my interesting question, can a restore and rooting again process solve these problems?

What is your HBOOT version ?
I think you need to flash the stock ROM then S-OFF and Re-root the phone.
Take a complete backup of your data as eventcom suggested and follow this guide.

help with getting mod loaded

Noob. Apologize for asking a newb question, but I believe I've done my homework and I'm sorry if my thread sucks. I searched the forums and could not find an answer.
I've collected data for you, first and foremost.
My system. (according to startup)
***UNLOCKED***
VIVO-W XB Ship S-ON RL
HBOOT 0.98.0000
Radio- 1.09.01.0312
eMMC-boot

I followed a youtube to successfully unlock and root my phone. I've installed clockwork mod, and transferred a mod over to the phone's sd (via USB from my work computer- I dragged and dropped and didnt "push" it via command line. I dont know if that is part of the problem? I also used the Rom Manager program to load/install/restart the phone. That's where I dont know wtf is happening.
Again, my most sincere internet phone newb apoloigies for humbly coming here and asking this...
When I use Clockwork Mod Recovery to install the ROM this is the output on the phone's screen:
Clockwork Mod Recovery v5.0.2.0
Installing sdcard/cm-7.2.0-vivow.zip
(it installs, no error message)
Formatting /cache
Restarts…
And goes to the white HTC screen (where HTC is in green) and never goes beyond that.
I've tried several different ROMs and always with the same result, so it's likely a "me" thing, not a software thing.
TIA for the help.

This is your first time flashing a rom?
If so, because you are Dev Unlocked you will have to take the boot.img out of the rom zip, and flash that with fastboot. I don't know the exact instructions, but if you search for that in the forums it should help you get the right directions.

From the viper thread in development:
1. Be s-off (or dev unlock)
2. Install a custom recovery (twrp/4ext)
3. Download the ROM and place it on your external SD card.
4. Do a nandroid backup!
5. Start rom install process and make sure you select to wipe data in aroma
6. Select your desired setup in aroma, and finish
7. Reboot the device and enjoy!
8. If you are dev unlock, you need to pull the boot.img from the rom zip and fastboot it in hboot
All credit to nitsuj, and yes you'll have to do a bit more searching for the particulars. I'd give better info, but I'm s-off (recommended ) and don't use your exact process.
You have to extract the boot.IMG from the Rom zip, then put the .IMG file in your folder where you have fastboot, abd, and other tools you used to unlock the device. Then you hold shift+ right click the folder and "open command window here" then type in the prompt "fastboot flash boot boot.IMG "

lol, well that worked-- to some extent-- My phone loads to cyanogenmod7 screen.. but then keeps doing that, over and over. I admit, it's humorous. Sadly, it's less functional than I was hoping for. What to do now?

Ok, I played around a bit, and I think the problem was that when I was doing it via recovery (not through the app I was using before I forgot to clear /data and /cache
Appears to be working now.
Thanks all.

I dont want to mess with that stuff again for a bit. For now, I want to just get all the settings the way I want them.
There's only one thing that not automatically the way I want it now that I've installed google apps and a few other favorites-- and it's a bluetooth question..
I dont know if this is the right place to ask- but I installed Cyanogenmod 7.2 stable. I really like all the features. Just like with my stock rom, when I get a call in my car, my bluetooth stereo that is paired for music and the phone takes over when I answer the call. I just want it to mute when I'm on the phone, not answer. I dont have a mic in my car, so I dont want to use the stereo for talking, as much as just letting me know I'm getting a call and muting when I pick up. Anyone know of an app/setting for this? My car stereo is a Sony xplod fwiw.
