I am guessing you didn't root with Clockwork Mod 3.0.0.6 and didn't convert your file system to EXT4. You need to Odin back to a place where you can start over. Follow the instructions in the link here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=773032
Where I think the Odin link is dead so I have attached the Odin file at the bottom. Then use the EB13 prerooted deodexed file (2nd) one in this thread with the EB13-EXT4 pit included:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=853209
And then after the conversion to EXT4 flash Bonsai before rebooting.

I flashed my Epic to EC05 using the official google zip, downloaded from google. The system About Phone shows the following:
FIrmware Version - 2.21
Baseband Version S700.0.5S.EC05
Kernel version 2.6.32.9
Build Number FROYO.EC05
Hardware Version D700.0.5
So clearly the updated worked, yet I continually get the standard OTA update notification for EC05. When I click restart and restall it reboots into CWM and then the signature verification fails. Anyone know how to fix this?
I would try flashing using Odin and the tar for EC05.
Pretty good Odin tutorial here:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cW-PL7-T7_c&feature=feedf_more
EDIT
Ooops....looks like the tar is not available for stock EC05....in that case...odin back to eb13 and do OTA update to ec05.
EB13 stock tar can be found here:

EC05 tar and Odin instructions still good in this thread:

Cool...didn't realize someone posted such a detailed thread on this. Definitely the one to use.
Does anyone know where to find the STOCK ROM and STOCK KERNEL w/ no root or anything for the Epic Touch 4G? Does anyone plan on releasing the odin pit and tar files ?
There is no "stock rom" (I assume you mean the tarball) yet. Stock kernel and pit are readily available in this forum. BTW, questions go in General.

Does anyone know where to find the Q&A section? Oh wait! There it is!
Hello!
Today few times I've tried to flash EK02 Stock rom. I don't know what happened and what I'm not doing right but after flashing I'm getting reboots every 3 minutes. Sometimes it is changing by itself from horizontal to vertical and WI-FI not working at all.
What I did
Odin 30 modem
Flashed EK02 modem
Upgraded system flashed this file http://chris41g.devphone.org/EpicTouch/Stock%20Roms/SPH-D710_update_EG30_to_EK02-rooted.zip
Flashed Rogue EK02 Recovery
Also tried this 2 files
http://chris41g.devphone.org/EpicTouch/Stock Roms/rooted.EK02.tar.md5
http://chris41g.devphone.org/EpicTouch/Stock Roms/Epic 4g Touch Pit.zip
Tried deodexed Rom from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1368180
Got the same result I wrote.
Please, can somebody give me some advice what Rom is working and more important how to do it right step-by-step?
I need your help, please?
ODIN the EG30_Rev5 (EG31) stock tar along with the PIT file. Then start all over.

Hello All,
FYI: This is stock Not rooted.
I got the prompt this morning on my Sprint Galaxy S2 Epic Touch 4g for a system update to ICS It had a full charge I clicked to reboot it started counting down and all it did was reboot, it didn't update I checked the about section and the build and everything is the same and if I go to the system update area now it just says your phone is up to date. Any ideas on what happened?
Thanks in Advance.
Ryan B.l
Something probably went wrong and it didn't boot into recovery or if it did, it is possible the update had some issues.
There is probably a log file in the /cache directory somewhere.
If you really want FF18, IMO the simplest way is just download the pre-rooted FF18 ODIN OneClick here;

Thanks for the prompt reply, I appreciate it. I just booted into recovery and wiped the partition cache and rebooted to see if that would help at all. If not then I may just have to manually update as suggested.
I've been using one of Calkulin's ROMs - If I want to try out the stock ICS update, should I flash back to a stock GB ROM first or would I still get a notification to update?
If you are on a custom ROM, you might get the notification, but it won't pass the verification stage when it tries to install.
I would just use the pre-rooted FF18 ODIN OneClick (Full Version) available here:

Hellou guys this is the first time I actually opened a new thread since the day I sign up on this site.
I tried Leaked ROM from Samsung ( 4.1.2 ) and I didnt really like it. So I wanted to flash back to my stock rom which I downloaded from this site.
The problem is that after flashing back to stock rom I got stuck at "SAMSUNG" then I though that i bricked my phone and flashed back to the Leaked 4.1.2 With the Pit file otherwise it stucks at "Samsung" either.
So I still want my Stock Rom back and I think I need PIT file for my Stock Rom which isnt included in my Rar file for rom.
After flashing Leaked 4.1.2 I tried this rom: N7100XXALJ3 N7100MOTALJ2 - Download - Slovenia (Mobitel)
And Got stuck and the Samsung Logo then I tried to flash back the Leaked rom without the PIT file and got stuck at the Samsung Logo again.
Then i flashed Leaked rom again with the pit File and it works just fine But I want to go back to My Stock rom/Firmware or whaeva it is
I flashed these roms with the Odin V3.04
Sorr for my bad English I am Slovenian. (=

IT worked! Thank you again! ^_^ I needed to format system and data caches and I also wiped data and stuff.. Turned off the phone and flashed the STOCK rom via Odin and it bootet just fine everything works and Im happy with the stock rom. Now I see i have a counter 4. because I was rooting the phone. What does this counter mean? I mean will I be able to get new updates and stuff from Samsung now?
