Not sure of this helps Mich but usually when this occurs the device must be reset to factory settings to get out of rebooting. Usually makers/carriers have an RUU file that downgrades the device to factory settings. Google your devices RUU and it could help fix your issue. Hopefully you did a back up of your items before you rebooting issues.

Don't know what you did to downgrade/unroot nor do I know the error, so I can't really help you there. Maybe a little more info?
I used the DI_unroot.zip and it downgraded me to 2.1 and it also got rid of my super user and wifi tethering app. I waited for the ota but nothing so I went ahead and downloaded the official ota update file from Verizon to try to update manually but the installation aborted. I know how to update the incredible because I manually updated my girlfriend's incredible. Idk what could be the problem.

If you are sending it in for warranty why do you care if the OTA is applied or not?
Just send it in.
I figured that if I got the update that would mean that I got rid of the root completely i don't want there to be any traces of root.

I tried pushing the update.zip manually again but again it gives me this "there's a problem with SD card/update.zip (status7) installation aborted" Then I have to reboot my phone.

Browser trouble since 3.29 update

I just flashed the 3.29 software update yesterday and everything was great, but I discovered today that I have a new problem with the built-in browser - whenever a page is loading and I touch anything (like x or the back button) the browser instantly force closes.
What can I do about this? Could a different kernel (I'm on stock now) make a difference?
Any ideas are appreciated.

Go into manage applications force stop the browser and clear all data/cache then reboot and see if that helps.

I did what you said, but it hasn't fixed the problem, only made the force close delayed by a few seconds. What else can I try?
Sent from my PC36100 using XDA App
You can try booting into recovery and wipe cache and dalvik-cache then reboot. And if that still doesn't help I guess you could re-flash the rom or try an entirely different one.
Sent from my PC36100 using XDA App
Thanks for your help, man. I tried flashing a custom kernel and in the process I wiped cache and dalvik, but the problem has persisted. You think just reflashing the ROM could solve the problem?
Sent from my PC36100 using XDA App
Yeah that would be my next step...I'd wipe the important 3 then re-flash. Trying a different ROM wouldn't hurt either.

Thanks for your help. I think I'll reflash the current ROM. I like stock Sense UI.

a few more pieces of information needed. are you stuck in a bootloop or does this only happen once and then all is ok. what roms have you tried? are you doing a full wipe in between flashes? superwipe? fastboot -w? when did this start hapening? can you boot into recovery? logcat?

Reboot when charging..

Hi everyone.. I'm using vj 4.2 and having problem while charging it reboots, unless back cover removed. No gprs connection, no task running.. Not over cloked.. Any suggestions? No problem while using 4.1 cm/aokp by vj.. Thanks in advance..
Sent from my HTC Desire using xda app-developers app
It reboots due to overheating. Might be a motherboard fault.
Does it happen on other roms too?
No.. With 4.2 only.. No issue while using 4.1 of vj..
Sent from my HTC Desire using xda app-developers app
I'm now using 4.1 by vj.. No over heating or rebooting while charging.. What could be the problem?
Sent from my HTC Desire using xda app-developers app
Try doing a clean install of 4.2 again. Maybe your download was corrupted? Check the md5 of the zip with the original one.
Thank u.. I'll try.. Right now using 4.1 no problem..

You can't do nothing about it

Could be caused by an app ! Maybe a factory reset can help. Or un-install some "strange" apps
