[ROM] Doc's RomMod Froyo (XXJPK) 23/9/10

Update 29/9-10: i will change back to HTC Desire and will not update the sgs-roms in the future.

My version of modded froyo stock rom.
Cred to a lot of great devs... and the XDA
Latest version is based on the XXJPK
3 versions: (all with stock graphics)
Full:
all stock, deoxed, zipaligned and rooted
Slim:
Lots of stuff removed (look in the system/app folder)
Deoxed, zipaligned and rooted
SuperSlim:
Almost all Samsung things removed, to my liking.
Deoxed, zipaligned and rooted
Added seguie default font
Multi-language swype added
Semi-functional recovery 2e (can flash update.zip without change of kernel, THANKS to LeshaK at samdroid)
Update: if you get lockup's when press "home": install the jobmanager update.zip in post no 2

How to install The Rom:
Place the rom as update.zip on the internal sd.
Start odin, put i9000_Kernel.tar in the pda
Flash, pull battery when flash finished
Enter recovery and flash update.zip.
Pull battery after flash finished and flash I9000XXJPK_KERNEL.tar.

How to install the Theme addon:
Rename the zip to update.zip and install with recovery.
Make sure you have 2e recovery installed

You can take the apks u like from the full version.

Both version will install root so.. no need to root separatly

Yes, bootloaders are included

I have the repackaged firmware, the firmware is split into 3 files so it can be flashed with or without re-partition, no pit and no re-partition should be fine though.

Ok up & running...installed the version with bootloaders....completely stock..no rooting...no custom kernel etc.... 1st expressions very fast... I had GB JVK stock before...Seems as snappy as GB JVK.....Included languages are ENG (UK & USA) & 4 chinese versions (i don't know the difference). GPS lock very good. Wifi Good, signal good....No major bug or problem noted. of course i'm in Netherland to access 3G had to put my APN manually....3G / HSPA signal & speed good. Installed about 40 apps... Now going back to more testing.....one more thing included keyboard are Swype, Samsung & Chinese.

One update...i know most will say quadrant doesn't matter...but this is the fastest stock rom in quadrant I tested getting between 1200 - 1250.. Wowwww...amazing...seems samy has really polished last bit of froyo before going official with GB....

Since JPY, the SGS has been very good. the last 5 or so releases have been amazing. However, it seems a bit redundant that Samsung are continuing to polish froyo when GB needs attention...Too little too late????

Yes but there is even a lot of difference between jpy and jpk. U can try and feel the difference.

+1.......... using it for 3.5 h. it is super duper fast no bugs so far......definitely faster than js8 & jvk GB.

How is the battery life?

It is too early to comment on battery life. It's been just 4 hours. I'll like to try for at least 3 days before I can comment on battery.

omeryounos: when you moved from GB JVK to this one did you use the bootloaders file or no bootloaders, also did you use pit

Very fast rom, wifi had some issues at first but no problems at this point.

T999V LH2 update CWM ready

This the Mobilicity LH2 OTA update. All I did edit the update script to work with CWM recovery.
This is just an update so you will be require to be on LE6.
Requirement : Must be on Stock LE6 & CWM (can be rooted)
To install:
- Go to recovery
- Make backup safety measures..
- select install update.zip & wait till it finishes
- Once finish it'll ask something about not installing the recovery from the update.zip. go to yes. [VERY IMPORTANT NOT TO FLASH THE RECOVERY THAT COMES WITH update. YOU WILL LOSE CWM]
- flash root & kernel of your choice
- reboot

BTW this my first time doing this. The main purpose of me doing this was I didn't want lose CWM recovery and want to update my modem. I flashed on my phone (Mobilicity T999V) and it worked. The version of CWM I'm using is 6.0.1.2 touch. Hopefully it works everyone else. Haven't been tested on the other T999V from other carriers, try update at your own risk.

Hey once you flash the custom ROM through Odin,then flash the CWM recovery via Odin...wouldn't flashing the CWM recovery increase the custom counter?

Select pda in odin? Can i flash it even coming from lollipop? Or must be on MM? Does the lamlazy rom has twrp in it? In case of problem can i restore my former rom? Thanks for clarification

Great ROM. But it is better if you can remove Users account feature (my opinion)

And If I unzip the tar file I get the usual : system.img, boot.img,recovery.img and cache.img

I don't think so. Maybe the developer has made changes in TAR file and has kept it as TAR, hasn't converted it in zip. But even so I am an amatour, I don't really know how the ROM development works
