I'm running Google Voice for my voice mail. Would it be beneficial to now remove any files for the stock visual voicemail program?
Under running services, I always see CM_Service. I kill it manually with no adverse effects noted. Maybe things would be a little snapier if it never got started?
What about some of these other services that I'm not sure what they are for:
SanService
snsphotoservice
makesimdbservice
Networklocationservice
Thanks!

Hey guys - this might be a noob question but I have been searching around and have found nothing as of yet. Are there any mods that incorporate visual voicemail? I am running cyanogen RC1 and it really annoys me that I cannot access this feature. Thanks again!
You can install the vvm.apk. Do a search for that and it'll come up all over the HTC EVO section.

You could also try Google Voice, which gives a visual voicemail.
Google Voice does a lot of other cool things too: gives you a new number you can pick, calls all your phones (home, work, cell) when someone calls your Voice number, emails/texts voicemail transcripts.
or of you don't want all that other google voice crap you could use youmail.com for free with the free youmail app in the market!!
You can customize greeting for each friend and even sync it to facebook etc.
OR you could just be old fashion and hold down the 1 key in the dialer and it will take you to VM and you could visualize the person who left you a message.
You're running Android , the answer is def.ly Google voice, you got so much options...
I have google voice and Youmail service which are great and FREE services.. However after flashing a MikFroyo Rom ( The best Rom I've used) I was wondering if there is a way I can use the Sprint visual voicemail app as a connector with the other voicemail services??
I know I can use the Youmail App and get visual voicemail...If I do that, can i delete the sprint.apk without causing other system functions to stop working?
Has anyone tried that? Is that possible to use the Sprint app to have other voicemails coming in?
is there a way to use the Sprint visual voicemail to work with the Google voice? Again I know I can use the google voice app..
my question is can I use the sprint visual vmail app to get and retrieve my voicemail? I have already set my speed dial #1 to youmail.. but if I get a voicemail from youmail I want it to show in the sprint visual voicemail...
Thoughts
So I installed Google voice to use their visual voice mail, and found that it installs fine, sets it as the default VM in the phones call settings, but when I received a call, tmo voice mail gets the redirect. I can't seem to figure this out. Anyone have a clue on this?

Bump... Anyone?
It's not just GV either, any of the market visual voicemail apps are not working either.
Any ideas?
You did go to http://voice.google.com and actually enable Voice on your line, right?
Interesting enough, that was the issue. I had google voice installed on my previous MT4G and it was all automated and worked fine before, but now that I'm on jellybean it said the install was fine but it never would trip over to GV, but now after re-registering the phone in my google voice settings, it worked.
Thanks for that.
I seem to still get an occasional voicemail in the sprint app eventhough my sprint number has been fully integrated with google voice for years now. The majority of my voicemails come in through google voice (now hangouts), but occasionally, one or two go into the sprint app and i have to go into it to check and delete them.
Does anyone know why this happens and a way to fix it? I want everything in google voice/hangouts. Also, i do have the new version of hangouts.
With google voice installed you dont get a promt to leave a message sign out and it uses sprints Voice mail i think they're conflicting. Maybe when i root and completely remove the stock visual voicemail this will end.
