I had the same little bug today. Experience no others. Flashed LeeDrOiD fresh after full wipe.
I don't have it right now, not 100% sure. Wiped market cache, boot into recovery and wipe dalvik. Still no good.
As I am in Thailand, don't have access to market paid apps, so used market enabler to fake, opened market / accept (cache wiped) / my apps /apps / all apps / just in
Worked, no more force closes
I have restored my settings through market enabler, and even rebooted, don't know if coincidence or what, but all good now.

[Q] Market won't update: stock ROM

Hey.
I've been waiting for ages to get the market app updated to latest version but my DHD still keeps 2.3.4. Tried to clear Market data several times, still nothing.
I maybe screwed something when I installed it manually before?
I am running stock ROM, no root.
Thanks for any help.

Make a factory reset and try again
Wiped. The problem persist. Weird enough, young padavan :/.

Well, google tells you to open the market and press the Home button(not the back button, the HOME button backs it to the homescreen and leaves the Market running, being able to update itself).
BUT, that did not work for me. So i downloaded it from here
Its v: 3.1.3 i believe.
Should work, but if it doesn't, hit me up.
download market.apk manually and before install clear data market app.

Caulkin's EK02 v2.0 market fc or maybe not?

I randomly started having Android Market not really force close but it just exits out to my home screen when i try to install a app or update one. The apps wont update. Its also randomly exiting to the home screen. I went into recovery and fixed my permissions. I cleared Android Market cache and data. I wiped Cache and Dalvik cache just as a last resourt because i dont know what to do. ***** does some one have the lastest market app i can download*** maybe that would be a solution? Uninstall Android Market and fresh install of a newly downloaded one. Or maybe a slightly older one that is know to not have issues? This is the first time i have had problems with the market. ***has any one else experienced this problem before and if so what did you do to get it up and running correctly again***
Thanks in advance guys and gals. Mahalo!

Suddenly cant download ANYTHING from android market!

The android market just gives me that striped animation anytime I try downloading an app. Have tried clearing the market cache, google framework service cache nothing seems to work! Just the new EU firmware OTA and rooted and removed the bloat apps and downloaded script manager from the market without any problems. Then tried to download a busybox app...thats when the market just stuck on the stripped animation and its been that way with everything else I've tried from the market incuding updates to my apps. Please any help guys??

Done a restart ?
If it does not help: Because you are rooted, you should be able to delete the Android Market. You can get the AndroidMarket.apk from the net and reinstall it(Unknown Sources have to be checked). But before doing something fancy, you should do a BACKUP, with CWM or RZR.

Yeah several restarts. Just got an update, it appears the youtube app also gets stuck with the rotating circle...cant load the video. Cant help but assume these are related. And also I've tried this on both wifi and 3G, same.

This is strange indeed. If even the solution above doesn't help, I would recommend you to flash you ROM via ODIN. Usually it should replace the missing files, so this could work. Do a Backup as mentioned above.
BTW: But generally your internet works? (via Browser)

Yes my internet works fine. I actually cant do anything requiring a usb cable since I lost mine and wont be getting a new one till the weekend maybe. I actually tried some other things like clearing the cache partition in recovery (stock) and logging out of gTalk and relogging in which solved similar problems for people online. Just seems everything is fine...except the market cant connect and download stuff, and youtube cant connect and load videos...I feel its a google account problem surely but dont have a clue what to do. Thanks for your response all the same.
First......Ensure SD Card is properly seated, open phone and make sure of this!!!
Do these :
Settings/Applications/Manage
Applications/All/
Downloads/Clear Data.
Media Storage/Clear Data....

I cant quite explain what happened, but I fixed it. It had to do with a botched backup/uninstall of google books with TB. I tried to back it up but it seemed to just hang up. Then I killed TB in the Task Manager and restarted it. I realised a backup had been made for the older version(1.46) instead of the new version(1.52). Google Books showed up as a system app after my last FW upgrade and I updated it (through the market) but the update made the app unusable(FC everytime I start it). I ignored all that at the time since I didnt use it actually. Tried to remove it yesterday and I guess that set this whole mess in motion. Thanks to all

"Not Supported" message
I'm having an issue with the Market (Google Play): About 70% of the apps I look at in the Market tell me "Your device isn't compatible with this item".
At first I thought it was a botched ROM flash (tuesday -new beggining) so I did a full wipe & reloaded the same ROM; same issue (about 90% of apps gave that error).
I recently loaded Paradox II (the 3/05 release) and did a full wipe as directed (flashed the wipe util's that were posted). Before restoring any of my apps I checked the market for the paid ones I use that were installed while on the rooted factory ROM (like MyBackup Pro) and got the same message. Some of the apps that "weren't supported" when on the Tuesday ROM were all the sudden supported & downloadable.
I had all apps backed up with MyBackup Pro and installed just the apps (no settings) using the BusyBox option. Every app worked just fine & market links restored but when going to market to update one of the installed & working apps, it'd say not compatible.
Thinking this was a market issue, I uninstalled the updates, cleared data/cache, and installed various versions of Market (including the new one) that were talked about in other threads about Market errors... did not fix it.
When going to the Market on my computer and looking at apps that are installed or were installed pre-custom ROM, it has my SGH-T989 grayed out. I checked build.prop and couldn't see anything with the device identification that looked wrong.
This is preventing a lot of my installed apps to not be able to be updated... Any ideas as to what is causing this? Did I fubar something when doing the first custom ROM flash?
Here are some of the major apps that are saying they are incompatible:
Adobe Flash Player
Astrid Task
Documents to Go
Dolphin Browser HD
DropBox
MyBackupPro
SuperUser

Is there a list of these files anywhere that you know of? I ran in to an issue a while back on my G2x when doing something similar to this after a failed theme flash.
Under system/app I have marketupdater.apk but nothing else...
/data/app. Mine is called com.android.vending

Update on this issue...
I cleared the cache/data for Play Store, uninstalled updates, turned off data, cleared cache/data for Market, went through and deleted all Market related apps/folders:
data/data/com.android.vending (folder)
data/data/com.android.vending.updater (folder)
data/app/com.android.vending.apk
system/app/MarketUpdater.apk
system/app/vending.apk
- I reinstalled the last version of Market that was posted on goo then let it update to Play Store. This resulted in more apps being "compatible" but still had quite a few coming up as "incompatible" (that I had installed & knew worked on the GS2). After further research I found a scenario on another Samsung phone that the lowering the LCD Density caused this same issue. After setting it back to 240 & reinstalling the Market again, the issue was resolved...
I would love to lower the density again but don't want to mess up the Market. Does anyone know of a tweak that will allow this (I'm thinking a build.prop mod)?

[Q] BCM RC2.2U4 GSM - Market/PlayStore issue

Hello,
I just installed BCM RC2.2U4 GSM on my Desire.
PVT1 AMOLED
16gig Class 6 SD-Card, 2 gig SD-ext
no swap
Stock hboot
latest radio
I went through the Aroma Installer and chose Play Store to install. Dalvik and Apps m2sd.
Everything went fine so far, I booted, did a reboot - then stuck on boot animation.
Pulled battery - second boot worked fine. Everything looks good.
But the PlayStore wasnt installed? Tried the same process again - same.
Then pulled the APK from the gapps.zip from cyanogendmod wiki and installed it myself. Install went through, but the PlayStore keeps FCing. I did clean cache and forced to stop and tried again - same behaviour..
No I dont know what to do?!
Thanks for you help,
David
Additional Info:
Chose Nova Launcher
I came from BCM version b0.3.6_1 so first time with HWA
And I installed the update for Camera Preview fix
If your "Android Market" works, just be happy and let everything as it is. There is no "need" to upgrade to Play Store.
Hi,
well I did have the Play Store on my previous installation, too. And it did work fine!
Just tried it again. I can open the app now and browse all the apps. But when I want to update an App it FCs immediately...
Also I noticed that the Play Store seems not be a system app. It appears under "downladed" in settings->apps

Try to unistall market using root explorer or root uninstall and then extract market .apk from RC2.2U4 or older version and then install it
Unless I'm wrong, which, you know, I'm not...
I got it to work with a complete reinstall, this time choosing the "old market " option in aroma.
Still it is shown as play store?! I didn't know about the different apks so I guess I had the regular market before, but it just has a new icon and name.. I was not aware of this.
Now everything works just awesome. Love this Rom!
And thanks for your help!
