The gapps r the same. If ur looking for them check out the cm7 thread. There is a link within the first post or two. They r universal now.
If you're just updating between, you don't need to flash. Also would recommend the final version over RC4.
Latest gapps either way.
http://goo-inside.me/gapps/latest/7/universal/
I think you can download the GAPPS from Rom Manager now.
thanks guys i was jus makin sure i had the right one cuz i was lookin around n i found the link to the gapps but didnt kno if there were updated ones.. thanks for the info

nighly's and rc's are both experimental. nightlys are released every night. rc's are released when the devs think the rom has reached a 'checkpoint'. you are allowed to post bugs about rc's not about nightlys.
btw stable is now out!!!!! i will personally be keeping up with any new nightlys but still that is a big deal. it's newer than rc4 btw.

I have done some digging, and am having trouble getting the answer. What are Cyanogen's Nightly builds? Everyone keeps mentioning these, but I would like some clarification before I move from Fresh EVO to Cyanogenmod 6.1.
...come to think of it, I may not be entirely clear on what builds are lol.
Thanks!
PS - I'm rooted with s-off via toastcfh's old directions, hboot 0.76.2000
Nightlies are builds with small bug fixes... think of it as someone finding small errors on the code for a day and then recompiling the ROM with those errors fixed.
A build is a version of software..in this case Cyanogen which has a nightly version or build of all compiled fixes etc for the 24hr period. Thus nightly build or version of all fixes for previous day or since last nightly build.
Thanks, appreciate the quick response.
Follow up Q: after I flash Cyanogenmod 6.1 is there an easy way to get these frequent updates installed?

Not really. They aren't really released as flashable patches. Instead, each night the rom is automatically compiled with the current sources. Some people get good luck with flashing these roms on top of their previous CM rom. They won't wipe their data in order to hold onto their installed programs. This could cause instability.
The other option for updating is to wipe everything and reinstall a fresh nightly. I'll do that maybe once a month if there are any good updates. Right now I'm running build 191 and things are running so smoothly that I doubt I'll want to change unless there's a new feature or critical bugfix.

Cyanogenmod Nightlies are available if you have Rom Manager Premium but you still must install them from there. Not a bad way to do it.
Very good. Now last question:
If I download the Latest Version from the link at the top of http://wiki.cyanogenmod.com does that automatically include the latest build (199)?
go here for nightlys http://mirror.teamdouche.net/?type=nightly&device=supersonic
and dont forget to flash gapps after the rom
Easiest way to get nightlies:
http://goo-inside.me/cm6/supersonic/nightly/ <--Scroll down to the last entry. This is my mirror which automatically pulls the newest nightly as soon as it's compiled.
Official mirror: http://mirror.teamdouche.net/?device=supersonic&type=nightly
Check what's been changed: https://twitter.com/cmsrc
To flash a Nightly, just put it on the root of you SD card and flash it from recovery. You *shouldn't* have to wipe cache or dalvik, and after the nightly is flashed, you can flash your custom theme/kernel/whatever.
Also, the link at the top of the CM wiki is not the latest Nightly, it's the latest stable version (in this case, Supersonic-6.1.0).
EDIT: You do not need to flash gapps after each nightly, only the first time, or after a complete wipe.
its recommended to do full wipe before flashing a nightly, some of the updates might not be updated if flashing over an older version

Wherever you saw that is BS. 99% of the time, going from one nightly to the next, or from nightly to a just-released stable version, you don't have to wipe. The only time you do need to wipe is if there's a major framework change, or a bug that's been addressed, in which case people will say to do so in the Nightly thread.

It might be dumb to you, but I enjoy being on the bleeding edge when it comes to CM. Yeah, I flash a new rom almost every night, but I will also get the bugfixes and new features before you do. In my opinion, that makes it worth it.

you can find a link to 'github' on the original cm7 threads first post, there. and yeah, nightlies can be unstable, but can be more stable than the rc, too! for example, the nightly 110808 is much better than the rc1 in every aspect i think...

You must wipe cache and dalvik before (and I suggest after too) installing nightly zip for reduce possible bugs, but not wipe data, so you can keep your settings and data.
Thanks, Nightly work way better than RC1. I've installed cm7-110814-0202-NIGHTLY-Jordan

Thanks man. It is not what I was expecting, but what to do now... I am afraid that 7.2 nightly wont be stable enough for everyday use...
Don't worry this rom (cm72-111223.0500-NIGHTLY-Defy+.zip) is very stable for everyday use. Just some modifications made by the official dev team of Cyanogen Defy to improved the CM7.1...
CM72 nightly is fine but in few latest builds (23. 12. for example) I had camera and videos upside down.
And even if I use defy+ build on defy+ it sees right battery capacity it charge only to ~85%

Ok, I installed it. Videos and pictures are upside down, what a iritating bug
Everything else is just nearly perfect.
edit:
Hell, every video is upside-down. Can some good soul can tell me what version do I install without this ridicolous bugs?

It did not help.
Now I ask myself why I installed 2.3.6 in first place when I wanted CM7. Ufff, I guess too many ROMs just make me confused. I want ALL OF THEM...
Nothing, I will sit tight, maybe it come eventually some nightly that make normal quality pictures and videos...

You might sit for a while as it seems that much of the devs' effort goes to ICS now.. Epsylon has recently commented that he will try to build a CM7 nightly every two weeks or so from now on....
I don't have a Defy+ but an orignal red lens one and I've been using cm72-111213.0943-NIGHTLY-Defy+ (Dec.13th) nightly since its release and I can assure you that it is a very stable build [the best CM7 I've ever used] and that camera/video recorder work fine here after changing the two files as described in my previously quoted post.
So the easiest thing for you to try (if you're still on Dec 23rd nightly) is to download the Dec13th nightly from here , and replace the 2 files in their repective appropriate folder within the nightly zip before installing it; no need to bother with files permissions that way... But again: don't extract the nightly zip; just "open" the archive [right-click] with 7-zip [or winzip] and drag and drop the files overwrite the original ones.
Sorry though; I have no clue on how to fix the reported Defy+ battery charging issues.
Edit: asah! I've realized too late that you don't own a Defy+ but flashed the full sbf... and might have green lens... so in that case, you can try the above, but it's unlikely to work - sorry..

Anyhow, I don't want to highjack this thread, but since other Defy+ owners might end up here...
...I would suggest you (and any other Defy owners) to read my thread here on tweaks for CM7.
You will find which CM7 Defy+ nightly to use to get a properly working camera, a guide on how to add a few tweaks before and after flashing it, how to get transparent statusbar, my modded GingerBlur theme AND my latest addition: how to fix the Defy+ charging problem.
That's it, I hope you enjoy!
flashing Kernel
I came with the non downgradable 2.3.6 and I have flash this
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1445259
And works fine without any problem.
I dont get it. Should I flash some of these kernels, after the custom rom?
http://defy.wdscript.fr/kernel/
And which one? Are there advantages?
Thanks for any reply.

What you've flashed is simply the December 13th Defy+ nightly with 2 files changed to fix the camera and 1 more to fix the Defy+ battery full charging problem.
That nightly needs a gingerbread kernel to run but you already got that when you flashed the full 2.3.6 sbf. So no you don't need (or won't see any advantage) to flash the signed CM9 kernel again.

I've been running CM10 for a while now, but haven't updated it since 11/1 due to some of the issues I've seen in the nightly thread. Is it safe to assume that the stable release has most of the issues ironed out? I'm a bit hesitant because of what I've seen, especially since some of the things I've read about the 11/11 release. Should I update to the stable or nightly 11/14? Or should I wait for a few more builds before updating?
Thanks for your help guys.

Most of them are ironed out. I would try the 11/14 ( havent checked commits lately but i dont think MUCH has been added if anything) if you arent already on a later build.

I'll give that CM 10 a try, will it work with the 5660M?
Any issue/problem with it?
yup it works... just go to OldDroid's topic and download RC1 release which is not in the first page but in the latest pages of the topic.
it is build on android 4.2.1.
it has some minor issues but its perfectly stable and go0d for average daily usage imho.
