tried flashing cm7 and now my phone is in bootloop. I have tried everything. When I go to hboot and try anything, it just goes to clockworkmod and will not do any commands. Tried connecting to pc, but will not read the device. Any help would be greatly appreciated as I love this phone and hope it is not bricked.
To me it doesn't sound "bricked." This may be redundant if you have tried them all already.
But all I can think of doing is battery pull, and waiting about 5-10 min.
Boot into hboot and then recovery and restoring a nandroid if you have one.
If you don't have a nandroid boot into hboot and do a full factory restore.
If those don't work I have an idea you can try, it can't hurt. Try getting into recovery and reflashing the rom or flash a new one altogether.
I have tried the battery pull about 25 different ways. It does not allow me to do anything when I get into clockworkmod. I can't flash, reboot, factory reset/wipe data or any of the other options, It just goes into "hat screen" and stays there forever. It will then go back to clockworkmod menu screen if I press the power button. I have tried everything with both the sd card in and out and while pullin it out or putting it in during the processes. I have tried connecting to the pc and flashing a rom, but it recognizes the drive, but does not allow anything to be out into it. I think she's dead.
could be another dumb suggestion but in recovery (clockworkmod) you don't press power to select an option you press the trackball.
you can flash a stock rom while in HBOOT. for example download the rom below rename the file to PB31IMG.zip put it in the root of your sd then boot into hboot. wait awhile and HBOOT should detect that you have a file to flash and ask you if you want like to update.
http://dougpiston.com/files/RUU/bui...and-2.15.00.07.28-hboot-0.92.0000_PB31IMG.zip
that worked, thanks.
I had this problem once flashing from cm7 to something else i forgot which. In the end i found out it was just me being an idiot. I was using the power button to try to select my options in CWM instead of using the optical at the bottom lol. If you use the power button in CWM it just gives you the hat until you press it again. I was freaking out big time and almost slapped myself when i found out what i was doing wrong lol. I see your problem was resolved but by chance do you know what button you were pressing?

While booting a back up of MIUI 1.1.28.1 my phone rebooted went through the process fine, then right after I got past the lock screen it shut off, and I couldn't turn it back on. Just before this I updated to the newest Clockworkmod 3.0.0.7. I thought my phone was done for so i let it sit for the night on the charger in the morning i tried to turn it on using the power and volume down button and it booted into recovery so I went along and tried a normal reboot, same thing got to the lock screen, powered down on it's own again. I've been trying to turn it on again now just to get it into recovery and maybe work with it there but it's not going for it. Any suggestions?
Since you can get to recovery screen it is not bricked. In general you can not brick by flashing a rom, only brick by flashing non-working radio or hboot
Here is how to fix it.
1) Download another ROM to the SD Cards. Pick a stable one, I recommend CM6.1
2) Boot into recovery and enter Clockworkmod
3) Wipe everything (Cache/Data/Dalvik cache)
4) Flash new rom in recovery
I got into recovery once after the initial shut dow, now i'm having the same problem as prior it simply will not turn on i've tried most combinations of the buttons and nothing seems to work any suggestions for getting it into recovery again? I realize that I need to boot another rom now but I need to get the phone on first haha. Thanks again
There's only one combination that should boot into recovery.
Turn it on holding down the volume up arrow. If it doesn't do that then you may have seriously messed up or even bricked your phone.

Volume down* up is qualcomm diagnostics. And that's to get into HBOOT, not recovery lol. Also, holding down on the optical trackpad works just the same as if you're holding volume down.

This happened to me yesterday, and here is how I eventually fixed it.
Let the phone boot up as far as it would go.
Pluged in my USB to PC
Ran reflash_package.exe from unREVOlked
Booted up normally.
Hope this solves your issue.
John
Thanks everyone got it all figured out it ended up being something really simple I just jumped to thinking my phone was done for, thanks for all your help!
Slong427 could you let me know what your fix was? i have been plagued with this issue for two days now and any rom i try gets to the unlock screen and shuts down. thanks, ian
Sorry to bother yet again but im flipping **** right now, I installed an overclock kernel from ROM Manager, rebooted and now it shows HTC, Vibrates, turns off and keeps looping.
I'm pretty worred right now, I've got clockworkmod installed (
Can somebody please tell me how to get into clockwork recovery before I have a panic attack.
Turn off phone, hold down power+volume down+up+camera button then scroll with your volume keys to recovery. Then restore a backup if possible.

Shows a black screen with the orange led flashing in the speaker.
Pull the battery, put it back in press volume down +power, it will boot into Hboot, then use volume to scroll down and select recovery, then restore a backup or flash another rom. The post two up from mine is telling you press all the buttons at once and is wrong.
What you are seeing is what happens when you press volume up+power.

i also have the exact same problem trying to do the same thing you did. Only my phone wont go into recovery. Tried power with volume up, down both and all buttons together. Nothing is working. Anyone? Please help!
Read what joemm said and then do it (volume down+power)

sorry to open this back up but i have searched and done pretty much everything, I am bootlooping on the white HTC screen.
I can boot into Recovery but when I select Bootloader, it gives me a Red triangle with the phone. I have searched and tried flashing via fastboot to no avail. I can get ADB to recognize the phone... totally stuck.. Is there a way to flash clockwork from an SD or maybe flash the PC10IMG to return to stock? This is my freaking work phone and I really dont want to have a conversation with my boss as to why my phone is shot...
Any ideas?

I`ve the same problem... I can´t go to the recovery, The phone don´t recognise the image of rom to flash again, and if I press volume up + power, the notification led blinking in red, if I press volume up + volume down + camera + power the notification leds get "green".
Im going to try to put another rom in sd...
PD: Sorry for my english.
Hi,
I rooted my DHD today and tried to flash the CyanogenMod-7 for Desire HD & Inspire. It seemed to work but now keeps re-booting every couple of seconds. It won't actually stay on long enough to put another ROM on. Can anyone help? This is the first time I've done something like this and it seemed to be going so well!
Thanks!
Pull the battery for about 10 seconds. Then hold the vol- button down and power your device on. Now you should see a white screen with some text on it. Navigate to recovery and press the power button. Now it should boot into recovery.
In the recovery choose wipe data/factory reset ald let it finish. Once its finished choose wipe cache partition.
Then go to install .zip from sd and then choose zip from sd. Now search for your rom and reinstall it
Tapatalked with Tapatalk from my Desire HD using Tapatalk.
This is common. Simply wait for it to boot and power off or use the power button to select reboot. You only have to do it once.
The instructions for installing CM7 all say to install ROM then reboot after first complete start up. Shouldn't need to reinstall anything.
Having been left alone for a few hours it seems to have sorted itself out. Thanks! I just wasn't expecting it to spend quite so long re-booting.
I guess you have enabled wi-fi just after flash cm7. Seems like there is a bug or whatever, all you need is re-boot device after first boot.
And about the re-boot loop, just remove battery to turn off you device then turn it on, enter recovery and flash cm7 again WITHOUT do wipe operation. OK, In this time remember to re-boot after first boot.
I got a bit trigger happy and tried to flash Android Revolution HD 3.3. I did a full wipe from ClockworkMod Recovery and tried to install the zip, exactly like I did for the previous ROM. That kept aborting the installation so I mounted the phone and re-downloaded and copied it onto the SD card again. Same problem. I then tried to re-install cm7 and that also kept aborting.
I now have the message "Back menu button disabled" and if I use the power button to select anything it goes straight to a white triangle with an explanation and the Droid, which I think is stock recovery? I'm getting there from what I think is Clockwork though. Is this recoverable or have I managed to brick it?
I had a similar issue a few days ago - it turned out that the battery stats were screwed up so a fix for me was to boot into recovery and then wiping the battery stats.
Everything was fine after that.
How do I do that? I don't want to reboot out of Clockwork as I'm not 100% sure I actually have a ROM at the moment.
Can boot into menu. Highlight recovery. Press power button. Powers down, not completely though. Screen stays on slightly. When waiting 5 minutes and press power button boots into loop again.

open recovery, goto advanced and wipe battery stats
Going to leave battery out for the night as read in other posts. Fixes the problem of not totally shutting down for some. Thanks.
Well leaving battery out didn't help. Continuous boot loop. Put on charger after turning off orange light came on and didn't go to green after 10 hours. Restarted when I got home and boot loop again. Had CoreDroid ROM installed. Working fine than tried to load Kalagas Mixed Theme and that is where I am now. Looping.
Even a blind squirrel will find a nut now and then. During HTC Hboot menu, noticed it was looking for PD98IMG zip. So I shut phone down. Inserted card with it on it and it restored to original firmware. PHEW. Hope this might help someone else.
My little sister's G2 has been stuck at the hboot screen every time the phone boots. Her phone is completely stock, with the most recent (that I know of) update, the one in PC10IMG.zip. She didn't do anything to damage it at all, it just started booting like this out of the blue.
When at the hboot screen, no buttons work at all, the only way to get out of it is to do a battery pull. I even tried using ADB but it wouldn't detect the phone.
Any suggestions?
first thing i would try is to somehow wipe the phone... push power & volume down to enter bootloader; choose recovery (a red triangle or something like that should appear) then push power & volume up (the recovery menu should appear); then wipe everything...
if this doesn´t work post here again
EDIT: sry, just recognized that i didn´t read your post carefull enough... if your buttons do not work, you probably have to flash a RUU

i booted it with vol down+power, then i pushed vol up+power and it started searching for zips. I had pc10img on it and it found and tried to update with it, but it gave "main version is older! update fail! press power to reboot." and rebooting again brought me to the bootloader.
edit: i don't have any experience with ruu files, so if that's what i need to do, can you tell me how?
Search for a RUU which is similiar or higher than your actual version, download it and put it on your pc... on your phone push power & trakepad to enter fastboot mode, connect your phone with pc and start the .exe on your pc...
Before you do this remove the pc10img.zip from your sdcard and try what i posted before again...

i tried doing this, but it failed, saying that my phone model wasn't right or something like that. but it did make the phone boot into the rom! and it appears to have all of its data still, hopefully everything works now.
rebooting will make the phone enter fastboot still. none of the ruu files i've tried work. is there a link to one that will work? i haven't found any.
ok, before you do the ruu thing, try to do a factory reset (either in the booted rom or through recovery)
here some links:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1074391 (this is a pc10img.zip - you have to put it on your sdcard)
or
http://www.filefactory.com/f/b8dc837b1ed80be8/ (...all official ruu)
pls use the thanks button
htsger 3
i used the pc10img you linked me to. gives me: "main version is older! update fail!"
i tried the ruu files you linked me to and those failed as well. they kept telling me my phone image was wrong or something like that.
Try some from shipped-roms
You'll want to try the 2.15 rom

same error as above
I did some thinking and thought that getting it to boot by trying and failing to use an RUU, downgrading it, rooting it there, and then flashing another rom would solve my problems.
I managed to get to downgrading and rooting the phone, but after apparently flashing cwm through rom manager, I turned off the phone and tried to boot into recovery by vol down + power. Those are the buttons I use to boot my g2x into recovery, and through searching I didn't find any other combos for the g2.
That didn't work. I got sent to fastboot again, and no buttons work. I then tried RUU again, and this time it worked, booted. I turned it off and back on to see if it would actually load the rom this time. Alas, fastboot screen again. Still no working buttons.
I tried the PC10IMG.zip again. It flashed, but when it says <Press power to reboot> and I press power, I get sent to fastboot.
I pretty much consider this phone a lost cause, but if anyone has a suggestion that might help, please tell!
I can only tell you that I have same problem, just happened to me y/d and I am stuck on white HTC logo not having adb access and can not flash any stock rom for signature errors. not sure how to continue. thread is: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1614042, good luck for both to solve it
Can someone help please?
I was using the Venom ROM but decided I could not live with the battery life, so flashed the Revolution ROM. I must have installed something it does not like, so it is now saying Android.process.acore has stopped, and requires force close. I can sometimes get into Clockwork recovery but on selecting to flash a zip by pressing the power button the DHD boots up the ROM.
Is there a way to bypass having to use the power button?
Thanks
Alex
Whether the cwm recovery is touch based? If not try flashing cwm touch recovery or 4ext recovery or twrp recovery. With these recoveries you can select menu by touch no need of power button to select menu.
Thanks doesn't hurt....

Did You do a Clean install? If You didn't do a full wipe do that And then reflash The ROM, if You did, just boot into recovery And choose fixmpermissions from there To see what happens.
Yes use a touch recovery as suggested above
I don't seem to be able to do anything in recovery because of the power button starting the ROM.
Trying to get into the bootloader using adb on the PC doesn't seem to work either, as I'm not getting into fastboot, being unable to select it. I get device not found error in all the screens I can get to on the DHD.
Edit.
I've now, I think, got into fastboot by taking out the SD card and Sim card. I think the DHD knows it's in fastboot USB as this changes to fastboot as I put the USB cable in. However, I get no response to fastboot devices, and still device not found to USB reboot bootloader.
I'll keep trying, but not sure what else I can do.
Nightmare, but eventually managed to get into recovery and flash a new ROM by putting SD card in at the last minute.
After several attempts when the on/off button loaded the old ROM, got the recovery to work correctly, and the new ROM is flashed. adb now works as well.
