How to Root??????

can someone point me in the right direction on how to root the phone? I can't seem to get it! Thanks

It's a sticky in the android development section. In all capital letters. Lrn2search

here, this method is the most succesfull for lots of people including me, you need some basic knowledge tho...

on a side note. i dont know why you guys take the time to post something completely useless and unnecesary... this is Q&A forum after all, he has a question (kinda dumb but still..) if you dont have an answer then dont post anything... as my little picture says "be nice or leave".
Im not trying to be an a$$ im just being honest. we've all been there at some point and when we needed help we came to the forums and someone helped us. lets just try to do the same n_n

The second one was shown not to work on like the second or third page because ROM manager can't successfully flash clockwork recovery.

Hello, i just installed igo my way and i wanna find the application directory, is't on sdcard ... where shell i look ?
Android version 2.3.5 stock rom.

You need a root explorer and look in /data/apps.

HTC Stock Rom with data2sd

Hi there,
Yesterday i tried to flash cm7 on my WS.
It worked but everytime i want to start a app it says:
"Process xxx has stopped working." and i have two chices :
"Wait" or "Force Close".
this sucks.
Now i want to flash the old stock 2.3.3 Rom (Europe) with data2sd and an extern ext4 partition as internal memory.
How can I do this ?
Do i need to flash the old recovery back ?
Or is there any solution on the problem in cm7?
ah btw. i flashed gapps & data3sd with cm7.
and I can speak german too.

In fairness its an easy mistake to be made i remember being caught out with it here, one thing that irritates me is that although the OP was wrong to post in this section people are too keen to jump on them and fill up the dev section even more by posting equally useless comments
So in response to the OP i would suggest posting in Q&A section

If you managed to flash CM7, you already know what to do to flash stock Rom.
Clear everything first, then flash new Rom.

You are right in what concers the tone matt5eo used. It's not necessary to talk like that to someone.
I myself was victim of that behavior by some "pseudo-smart guys" BUT also guilty of doing something similar to one or two users.
Please try to understand that people here get fed up with new users NOT reading the rules. That should be the first thing to do before posting.
There are different sections for different kinds of problems.
In this way it's easier to find solutions and also explain what problems you have. If you post in the right section there is a much higher probability of getting answers.
I hope that you also learn how to use the search function. For that please take a look at this thread by b02:

Can we all please possibly Keep SGH-T999,SGH-T999L and the ATT Roms Clearly Marked and Marked That the upgrade.Script Has been changed with the correct asserts please!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
