i want to delete the app launcher2 that is installed with leedroid but its a system app even if i delete it with titanium it does a full reeboot an is reinstalled...can anyone hlp me without damaging my desire?
Do it in recovery with adb or remove it from the zip before flashing if you're s-on. Mentioned many times before!
Also you probably gain nothing by removing it. So why do you want to remove it anyway.

Yeah not sure its gonna help you in any way by removing it. If you're worried about it running unnecessarily, you could just freeze it with titanium backup pro?

Hello guys, my phone is rooted, and running "stuck" HTC firmware. If I want to try opendesire or some other image, is there a way to backup my phone, including installed apps, then re-flash and restore data?

Hi! I have a Desire from T-Mobile with Froyo (2.12.110.2). It is rooted successfully but I cannot remove preinstalled apps. I have tried adb, Titanium Backup (Chuck Norris Mode on) and Root Explorer. The .apk is always removed correct. But after a restart it is back on its old place. I don't want to install a Custom Rom just because of some apps. How can I remove the apps from my App Menu forever (like Facebook, Peep, ...)

Edit: now I know I have to s-off my phone first. Root alone is not enough
How to remove stock apps ?
rooted HTC Evo with UnrEVOked 3 using stock 2.2 Froyo Rom
I was told to try titanium backup app but that didn't work either
Root explorer also didn't do much .
Anyone know a way that really works ? I just can't stand those apps running in the background all day .

Titanium Backup and Root Explorer should both work. If they arent, maybe you arent fully rooted. And FYI, the apps are not "running" in the background, just cached.
Good to know thx
So how do I turn fully rooted ?
Is this that Nand unlock ? That I keep reading in the forums ? I'm still new at this .
Thx for your help again

The problem may be that the rom isn't rooted. I'm presuming that since you are "rooted" you have a custom recovery (clockworkmod/AmonRa). Try flashing a stock froyo rooted rom. I believe Sprint lovers will do the trick, though i've never flashed a stock rooted rom. it will give you root privileges sufficient enough to remove system apps
I'm using the stock Froyo 2.2 Rom
Rooted via UnrEVOked 3 .

Can someone guide me the steps to uninstall rommanager.cynogen mod 7.0.3
Sent from my HTC Desire using XDA App
You can use the Titanumi Backup(root) to uninstall the app brings from the rom.
Or use the Root Explorer to delete the *.apk (I don't know it's full name) from system/app.

If your s-off. You can simply remove the app from the zip file before you flash it. Or do it through fastboot.

I've done it in such way.
1. Using Titanium backup I've performed backup of all the necessary applications, phonebook, sms, etc.
2. Removed RomManager from ROM'zip file
3. Flash it. (You should turn off signature verification before flashing modified ROM'zip files)
As far as i understand, rom manager is not installed in /system/app, but in /data/app.
So this guide might help you:

adb backup and adb restore should work (as well as copying the associated data from the SD card if it's used).
I'll look it up cheers
