Hi,
I have a branded HTC desire running CM7 and I would like to set it back to stock (overheating problem). I didn't do a goldcard, because when I rooted it, the Unrevoked app said it wasn't needed anymore.
How should I proceed ?
Thanks in advance for any help.
Nooooo CM7 rocks, don't do it!
Do you have SetCPU or similar app? Check if you have high CPU, maybe it's related with the overheating.
No... lol you don't get it, I'm sending it back to HTC, so I have to do it.
But nevermind I used a official HTC RUU.exe and it flashed the phone. My problem which is considerably worse now is that my screen doesn't turn on anymore !! It flashed the firmware "RUU_Bravo_HTC_Europe_1.15.405.3_Radio_32.30.00.28U_4.05.00.11_release_121865.exe" and now I can hear it boot but nothing else...
Someone knows what I messed up ?
Why that?
Try this:http://www.shipped-roms.com/shipped/Bravo/RUU_Bravo_Froyo_HTC_WWE_2.29.405.5_Radio_32.49.00.32U_5.11.05.27_release_159811_signed.exe

You probably flashed SLCD RUU on Desire with AMOLED screen, or vice versa.
AMOLED ROM on SLCD - that RUU was the VERY first from over a year ago! Get the 2.29.405.5 RUU and flash that and you should be good to go:
http://www.multiupload.com/LEJCW182AH
Yes I figured out => Amoled on SLCD ^^
It's back to stock now !!
Thanks for you help.
PS : If anyone actually ends up on this post because he wants to go back to stock from CyanogenMod, you just need to get an official RUU .exe file (the correct one ^^) and follow the instructions. The HTC software will recognize the phone even if not running an HTC official ROM.

Hello,
i flashed my hboot back from ogxygen to default hboot, after
reboot i just saw a black screen. The leds are blinking green and orange if i put out the battery and if i insert it, the leds are orange.
If i start the desire the leds are not showing something and its still blackscreen. How i can repair it? =(
sry for bad english
i'm no expert but have you tried going in to the Bootload menu (power off phone, hold down the back button and power on holding both button down unlit phone starts up)?
Then if you can get in to the Bootloader screen you can then try to go to Recovery option or flash from your PC using ADB.
Have you made a NAND back up before you flashed your Hboot?
Yes i already did, but always blackscreen not vibrating or something like that
no i dont have a nand backup, why i need 1? someone could give me a link?
or make a backup and upload it?
if you connect phone to pc , is it recognized by PC?
if yes try to run an official RUU from shipped roms.

no my pc isnt showing something up
It is a bit late but check the md5 of the hboot you flashed, if it does not match I think you are pretty screwed otherwise it probably is still fixable.
how i can fix? damned thats my dads desire he will kill me :/
i don't think you can, you have to take it back for repair.
or you can find someone with jtagbox.http://www.jtagbox.com/jtag-news/riff-jtag-htc-desire-unlock-unbrick-imei-repair-supported/
will they repair my desire if i send it back? cause its flashed
It depends on how much they can see from it.

ähm... what they will do after repair when they see thats my desire is flashed?
If they find out that it was a rooted desire or that you caused the fault, they are happy to repair it but they will charge you big time. Somewhere around here someone named 200 euro i think. But you might get lucky and they repair it cost free, has also happened before.
What you have is the slcd desire brick. Follow the thread in my signature with the ruu for your region- how to unroot the desire.

No, any Android 2.1 RUU (1.xx.110.x) will black screen your phone. You're stuck so you'll need to send it with the stock ROM on it and hope they still do it

Hey,
I know there's already a thread on this but I wanted to ask which order I need to carry out the process and any help would be greatly appreciated. I need to return my DHD as there are problems with the speaker. I have a new radio, eng-off, s-off and a custom ROM. Which ones do I revert first in order to return to stock without messing up the phone?
Thanks !
You may be able to get away with sending the phone back even if it's not on a stock ROM. I have read other posts on here where people have sent their phones in for repair with custom ROM's and HTC have not been bothered about it, and whenever you send your phone in for any type of repair - they will always wipe the phone and re-install the phone with the latest stock ROM.
From what you have described about the problems you have got with your phone, I imagine the first thing HTC will do before doing any physical repairs on the phone is to re-flash the phone with the latest stock ROM to see if it fixes any of the problems on the phone.
My DHD has been back to HTC twice for the same camera blur problem and I had previously rooted the phone, Radio S-OFF and installed a custom ROM but then I did revert it back to stock with Radio back to S-ON right before I sent it back to HTC for the repair. The first time it went back HTC, all they did was re-flash the phone with the latest stock ROM and sent the phone back to me and hoped that it cured the problem. Within 10 minutes of getting the phone back I knew that the problem was still present and then within a couple of days it was back with HTC again for the same problem and that is when they finally physically repaired the phone.
Edit - from what I have just found out, it doesn't matter which ROM you have installed but the most important thing is to make sure that you revert the phone's Radio back to S-ON before sending it back.

Thanks, so I just have to get radio S-on back? What about eng-on ? I used the two tools to do it originally, so I'll just have to use them again ?

Yes that's right, just use the tool to revert them back to ON. When I did the process and after I used the tool to revert them back to ON, I just downloaded a stock RUU ROM that you run through Windows and then the program re-flashes your phone back to the stock ROM.
Liam
i would back to stock, just in case... i really don't think htc bothers with it, because it's way more simple to fix the phone than fight against the client.
but, since with the original RUU is very easy to back it to stock, i don't see why you shound't do...
regards!
Ok thanks. I have got radio back to S-ON but I still have eng-off. Will this matter? I can't seem to find out how to revert it back to on.

Did you read the instructions in my tool's thread? It says pretty clearly there that you should run stock RUU
I've been thinking this for a while, since I have an issue with volume rockers (they aren't as outside the chassis as a friend's) from the very first moment I bought.
Does anybody have this issue? or think it's a hardware problem HTC would repair?

When you install an official RUU you revert to original factory state. I believe bootloader,root,ENG/SOFT-OFF etc... dissapears

almost everything desappear by flashing original RUU, except Radio S-OFF, that can be changed by jkoljo's tool.
but, since you lose the root when you flash RUU, you will root your phone again with visionary, after that, use the jkoljo's tool to get s-on, unroot and uninstall visionary. done, just it.

Not exactly but close. My volume rockers work, it's just they are sunken to bottom and haven't that normal touch i've seen on other DHDs
Anyway, thanks for linking post. I'll talk a bit there
hi everybody!
i just bought from ebay a desire device.. first boot.. everything's fine, config wizard, although it's an used phone.. well.. satisfied.
rebooting the device and.. stuck to the splash screen (the vithe screen with the HTC green logo)
i supposed something went wrong with wiping datas by the previous owner..
try to reinstall a shipped rom.. same results..
trying to downgrade and root.. same
the curious thing is that the phone boots up only after half an hour i turned it off..
xD seems like it needs to rest! if i try to boot it early, it sutcks again at the splash...
any ide? 'cause i really dont know what to do!
many thanks in advance!
when you finally get the phone to boot, I suggest you S-OFF with revolutionary, flash recovery and try using a different ROM. If the problem persists then it must be a hardware issue.
this time whe it boots up it immediately restarts..
i should try to reflas the latest shipped rom? as it was at the beginning?
if you're talking about the RUU make sure you are 100% positive that it's the correct one! or create a goldcard and flash the latest WWE RUU. It could help I guess, if it is a software issue.. sounds like it is anyway
It sounds like hardware problem to me... Check is it overheating?
yes it's always too much worm for me.. the ruu i flashed is the one i had before downgrading.. but it is the last step i guess.. cause version 2.36.161.12 it is diffult to manage in termos of rooting and so on..
but sounds like i will be compelled to try that step..
Do you have a Desire or a Desire HD?
2.36.161.12 its for Desire HD i think..but this is the Desire (not hd) section
sorry mate.. wrong note.. 2.29.405.5... that's the real one
s-off with revolutionary, put the clockwork rec but, when i recall the recovery from bootloader.. again stuck at splash..
Seems like you were cheated into buying a phone with hardware issues.. If you get it to boot, make a goldcard and reflash any wwe ruu

yes and no. You need to flash the downgrader from the alpharev.nl website, which will "unlock" the bootloader and will allow the RUU to overwrite it and turn it S-ON again
Hi,
Please can someone help.
I have a desire which was originally Vodafone. I rooted, s-off, clockwork recovery etc and have been running custom roms for ages (Though I don't flash at all often.
I tried to bring it back to stock and flashed an original Vodafone ROM through RRU. It seemed to work but errored at the end. Now I am stuck.
I have no screen display at all. If I press power the phone vibrates once but nothing else. no splash screen, nothing. Pressing "back+power" doesn't do anything either.
If I load a stock RRU it used to run through but give me a Cust ID doesn't match error 131. I have now made a goldcard and now I get a bootloader 140 error. I have tried to use androidflasher but that reports I am now s-off so fails.
RUU reports I have image 2.33.161.2 now trying to change to 1.0.2.10 (although I have tried a number of wwe and vodafone RRUs
rru goes through bootloader. erasing user data and sending signature but then fails to the 140 bootloader version error
Is it the conflict of coming from custom roms or just that it will not downgrade to a lower rom? does anyone have a higher rom? Please help. I can't even get anything on the screen to know I am in bootloader although RRU obviously thinks I am
Please help. What are my next steps. I am now totally lost!
Thank you

No, That was the big stupid move! and I think what trashed it. That and the not having a Goldcard.
I have however finally solved it. I put in the goldcard and flashed rru from the HTC developers site.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1772499
That fixed it. I guess it was complaining that the Vodafone version I had flashed badly was of a higher version number than the other one I was trying to fix with.
Took all day but finally got there.
Thanks for the reply
Cool, glad it works now

First off all you flashed amoled ruu to slcd device, or the opposite.
Once more, nobody wants to search the forum to see experience of other people ans simply use 2.3 RUU.
