Ok, I am an idiot.... I have done it in the past, but now I can NOT figure out how to do a multi-quote... Anyone care to help me out? Haha
Just press the Multi-Quote button on each post that you want to add to your reply. Then when you've done all the multi quotes, press reply and the quotes will be in there.
The multi quote button is like a toggle. You can press it for a post and press it again to remove it from a post.
Hope this helps
That still doesn't work for me... Tried on Firefox 4 and IE8.... Clicked on the "Mulit-Quote" box, and then clicked on 'Post Reply' and nothing ported over...
Multiquote is not working for me either. I tried firefox 4 also, IE8 also, and google chrome, press multiquote on two or more posts then press post reply and the message window pops up but the window is empty no quotes. The single quote works fine. I have used multiquote a number of times previously, never a problem. It seems I am not alone in this issue. I cleared browser cache, no change. been going on for a couple of days or so I guess. Gonna try a reboot now. Anyone have any ideas?

I just tested it with your two posts and it's worked fine...not sure why it wouldn't be working for you guys.
Just press multi-quote on each post, then press reply down the bottom.
It's not working for me either.
I can select 2 posts to quote, and click Post Reply, but then I get an empty reply box.

Okay good to know, It's probably not working for anyone at the moment then. Hopefully it will be fixed.

Here working well: Opera 10.60, Win7 32bit
Hm, i've tried Firefox, IE and Chrome all three give the same message. Gonna install Opera and check. But anyway, there must be some kind of problem with the feature, can't be right that it should only work on Opera?
Edit: Nope, not working in Opera either here. Don't suppose there is on option in my User CP here on the board i must enable or something?
We're trying to fix - it has to do with the Twitter API we're using. Thanks for the note!
Ah great, looking forward to when it's fixed =)
Hello I just joined xda developers and immediatly noticed something very irritating >
1. The capcha before posts - a capcha at signup is enough for most people , aren't u guys a little too paranoid.
2. Quick reply options in threads and removal of the title bar for posts - haven't yet seen even one post which uses a title bar in 5 hours
captcha needed to stop spammers

If you saw the amount of spam that manages to slip through then you would see why the captcha is still necessary for a time after signing up. It should stop after your next couple of posts however.
Unfortunately people are sometimes in too much of a hurry to type a title in for posts and the titles don't show in the XDA app, but they are still important to keep and use.
Captcha's unreadable
It is nice to know that the captcha's go away eventually. I have seen other forums that have been entirely taken over by spam-bots, so I understand the need, but the captcha's in use on this site are about 90% unreadable. I mean literally unreadable, the text is clipped so that only a corner of one of the letters is visible. I have to click the next captcha button on an average of 5 times bfore getting to one that I think I MIGHT know what it says...
P.S. This is a wonderful example of that, I tried to post this without the PS, and it turns out I was not correctly reading the captcha. This one looks a little better, so here is hoping...

But as the quoted text says capchas are very much unreadable and some simple math instead of the capcha would be great

Seriously? So you'd prefer having to go to a post, click 'quote', be taken to a separate page to type your reply (on which you won't be able to scroll through the thread gathering info or whatever for your reply), clicking post and then being redirected back to the page again causing it to refresh? Quick reply is fast and handy (hence the name).
As for the title bar, you've got to be kidding me. I don't think it even deserves an explanation.

The fact that their are captchas really isn't the problem. It is that they really are almost 90-95% unreadable. I have had some captcha pop up that literally was just the bottom corner of a letter and that was it during registration. I had to refresh about 20 times before I found one that I could sorta read.

Maybe its a problem with Firefox then? Do You have installed some add-ons that could block the quick reply?
For me the quick reply works perfect on pc(chrome) and my stock HTC one s browser. And I'm using the 2013 theme as well, so the theme would not be the probleme I think.
Why don't you try some other browsers like opera, chrome or safari ?
And you could reply back here on this thread or tell an admin if it is a problem with Firefox, and maybe its getting fixed then.

That's true, but in a mobile community where most US US are using the smartphone and the creepy autocorrect or our fingers are doing mistakes, I guess at least the edit function should be allowed without waiting 5 minutes. Any word posted mistakenly here can be seen at least 10 times in 5 minutes (and there is judge chance to get a reply with quote and the mistake will be visible forever)

The reason it is not allowed is that spammers would use it to add links that they would not have been able to include in the original post. I know it is a pain, but "read twice, post once".
No quick reply here too. Do I need 10 posts for this too ?

Sorry Men Actually I identified the probelemn that i was using the nightly of firefox and that seemed to be the problemn everything works good with the stable version of ff with the same profile and addons as the nightly build.
Hi, I've not found anything that relates to my problem so I'm hoping I can get some clarification here.
I seem to have got stuck in Multiquote mode. I think I pressed it one day and now everything I do will add to the same post, ie. it gets multiquoted.
The way I understood it, if you press 'Multiquote' then it will ... uhm ... multiquote. If you press 'Reply' it won't.
Currently it doesn't matter if I press reply it still gets added to the same post. So the question is, is this a toggle and if so how do I turn it off and more importantly, if it's a toggle is there any indication which mode I am currently in?
Multi-quote allows you to reply to multiple people in the same post. You can quote several posts simultaneously. You reply by either clicking on "reply" or "quick reply."
Looks like you received your answer, but Moved for assistance. Thank You
I don't think clicking quick reply after multi quoting works..Though, I am not sure about it, i forgot.
However, pressing "Reply" after multi quoting works for sure

... in the latest Chrome browser, after editing the post. If I pressed "Save" after editing, I just getting a spinning indicator.
But if I switch to "Advanced mode" everything works as it should be.
Update: same behavior/bug on "Post quick reply" button
P.S. Hmm... I'm confusing: it works now...

yup, @bitpushr should be aware of it and hopefully solve it for good some time in the future and its not the only issue XDA site is going through , so in the meantime the work around might have to do for now. :fingers-crossed:

Sorry, I'm not seeing edit or advanced edit buttons under the text field. I see Post Icons, Image Verification, and then Submit Reply & Preview Post. I tried both Firefox and Internet Explorer, even turned off ad blockers.
I just realized, you meant edit an already existing post. What I am trying to do is attach a file to a post/reply.

If you click on the reply button, it will open a new screen allowing you to write your post, above the text field you will see lots of buttons, don't you see this "manage attachment" button in this create post screen like shown in my screenshot?
The UI may differ depending on the used theme of course.
No that button is missing for me. Tried to attach a screen shot, but it won't let me do that either (only put in a URL). Tried on mobile device too, and that button is not there.

This attachment feature is not present for members below 10 posts but you are above this limit so it should be there, I don't understand. Some ideas of tests:
- wipe cache of your browser
- try Google Chrome
- try another xda theme
- wait 24h or 48h and it may be fixed by itself
- or if still not working we may need admin assistance

I've no experience with IE but I'd the same issue quite a while ago on FF when I used the add-ons uBlock Origin and NoScript. For this reason, I've created an own profile for FF to use XDA.
