been doing some reading and also tried a few apps like wimaxnotifier but nothing seems to fix my issue. here's is what i am trying to accomplish. what i want to do is have me LED stay on or flash makes no difference. whenever i get a text, email or phone call. i used to have a palm pre. and it used to flash and keep on flashing until i picked up the phone. well my evo does flash for awhile but if i don't touch the phone it will eventually go off after a few mins. is thier a way to make it continue to flash until i get to my phone?
It does? I have been using mine with no issues... did you adjust the start delay? I put mine on 10s and works fine... also if you use 4G the notification service FC's
yup i have tried alot of different configurations. still wont stay on. is that 4G notification service and app??
At this point in time i do not know nor does anyone, as far as I can tell, of a way to unroot and have everything working. I have got my phone back to stock after a lot of trial and error, the only thing that seems to be off is that wifi will power cycle the phone until its turned off, and the other thing is that I am keeping decent signal but not receiving calls or texts, basically 4G works solid, and the rest not so much.

Yeah, no official restore tar from Samsung...but do you understand what root is and how it's removed? Unless you did something really dumb...you should be able to go back
Anyone else having this problem? My E4GT's network randomly freezes. If I'm on a call and it happens it drops the call but I can't close out and end the call. If I don't notice it has frozen, I just won't get any calls or texts until I reboot. Data over wifi works fine. If it happens and I put it into airplane mode then off again I get the circle slash no network symbol. Nothing works besides a reboot. I'm running a stock kernel and stock rom on a rooted phone. Anyone figure this out yet? I came from an evo to a photon to this and the data speeds were horrendous on this phone compared to the other 2. With this issue the phone is almost unusable. I did an SCRTN reset on the phone and that took care of the data speeds. If I can get this resolved the phone will be great. Thanks.

I'm on stock rooted EL29. This issue is so annoying. As soon as I pick up a phone call it goes straight to speaker mode. Anyway to turn that off?
are you using voxer? that app effs with the calls and speakerphone
I'm not using voxer and I have the same issue. Whats voxer? Stock Epic no mods nothing, phones been on since day one, Oct. 29, 20011. No issues since day one suddenly speaker on while answering calls. (not my phone - wifey's phone) my rooted phone does not do this.
Anyone ???
Pp.
Dnt know what Voxer is but this problem is annoying the **** out of me. I'm thinking of maybe using the Go Dialer to see if that works.
That happen to me when my car charger was going bad it would activate car mode.. So annoying and it will throw my calls into speaker mode.. A reset cured mine along with a new charger
Sent using my E4GT Blazer rom 1.7ghz d-core
Will try reset.
Thanks,
Pp.
ive since moved to ics and dont get this anymore. im pretty sure its related to el29.
I've just gone through my first day of use with the LGOG, and a few issues have come to my attention.
The first is that while I was at work, i felt the device getting hot in my pocket. When I checked to see what was going on, it was searching for GPS. I had tried to use Maps, and it couldn't find me so later on I turned on location services/satellite GPS so it could actually find me. I haven't noticed it since. Could that have been the solution?
Issue 2 was that it seemed that my WiFi was turning on by itself, and it was draining my battery searching for a signal. I had turned it off when I left my house, but it seemed like it came back on and started searching in vain for a signal. I turned it off again, and haven't had that issue since. Has anyone else had this happen, or did I accidentally activate WiFi without knowing it and that's all there is to it?
One other issue I was having was with the text cursor freaking out and going to the front of my texts. I can't really remember for sure if it has happened since I updated to ZV9, so does anyone know if ZV9 had a fix for that or if I've just been lucky the past few hours?
Thats all I can think of for now, thanks for any help you guys can give me!

For your wifi randomly turning on make sure you have connection optimization off (system settings, mobile networks). ZV9 shouldve fixed the crazy text issue. Not sure about your device heating up with gps, maybe you had Google maps running in the background trying to pick up your location. Hope I helped!

I turned off the connection optimization, what exactly is its function? Will I get decreased mobile network performance with it off?
Also, I am wondering if anyone knows about the Qualcomm Enhanced Location Service. Does it help or hurt performance/battery life/etc...?

The connection optimizer basically turns on wifi to search for a signal and then shuts off if it can't pick up anything. Of course this only happens when you have it checked and using data. I'm not certain what the qualcomm enhancement location service does besides help you getting a gps lock.. I know I've always had it enabled and gotten an instant lock almost all the time with great battery life. On a side note, you'll love the speed and build of this phone, plus our devs are working hard to bring us jellybean sooner than sprint/lg

Thanks for your help, I will leave optimizer off and turn qualcomm on.
I came from the Evo Shift, and I am just blown away with the speed, screen clarity, and beauty of this device. I've had to go back to my old shift a couple times to get a thing or two off of it or check what apps I'm forgetting and each time I get pissed at how slow and small it is haha. I'm loving it so far, and hopefully with these small issues worked out I will love it even more. When the roms start dropping, well thats just a bonus =]
Thanks again you guys!

Haha I hear you. I had the ep4t before this and although I still think it's a great device, i can't believe how slow it is compared to this.. Plus the difference between the two screens isn't even worth comparing. Glad I could help

I had the shift and then went to the photon. even the photon seemed slow compared to this lol
In regards to notifications, is there any way to limit update intervals for facebook? I feel like its going to eat my battery up if its always telling me about facebook stuff the moment its posted lol.
Also, is there any way to increase the rate that the notification light blinks? I feel its not blinking regularly enough for me to notice it if I've got a text or something.

Under facebook settings just change interval to update less regularly. I use flash blink. It actually flashes the LED light to let me know. Unless of course you want to be private about it.
To add a little about the Connections Optimizer: It's Sprint thing that they're adding to all of their phones. It basically turns on wifi briefly, even when wifi is off, to try to connect to open wifi networks. I'm pretty sure it's an effort by Sprint to keep people off their 3g/4g network and on wifi whenever possible to reduce bandwidth usage. It is also incredibly annoying, because it notifies me of the free wifi in my city (that's strong enough to locate, but not strong enough to transfer data and stay connected) every time I am in certain areas. The pop-up about new open networks also gets in the way of receiving phone calls sometimes. Turn it off. Android already connects to your remembered wifi networks automatically, and I think you can handle the wifi on/off toggling.

I couldn't stand connection optimizer. Walking through NYC to go to work, I'd look down and see my phone actually connecting to and using ANY open wifi signal on my walk down the blocks. I would think that's a huge security issue for phones to randomly connect to any network it sees. Just think of how well easily it could be to rig a router to sniff all those data packets!
