Is this a pretty good rom, any issues with the Full version that has touch wiz? Second if I want to get back to Stock instead of using ODIN can I just use SWUpgrade for SPH-D700 to get back to EB13? Lastly I am running EB13 rooted any reason to go to EC05 or not to. Thanks
Not sure about reflashing to stock but as far as the ec05 modem it has given me better signal in low signal areas and doesn't try to stay on sprint if the signal is low. As far as the Rom is concerned I have tried others and love SRF in both versions and can't find any real complaints.
Smooth, fast and easy to install make this the Rom of choice for me.
Hope this was helpful
Thanks
I will give it a try if it goes bad I guess if I odin with the pid file it will put me back to stock?
I too am happy with the ACS Frozen 1.1.0 ROM.
Its been great to me.
As far as going back to stock you will need to keep the files to ODIN back, if an OTA upgrade comes out you will need to go back to a stock ROM to be able to apply an OTA update.
I just flashed this ROM this afternoon and am having several FC issues. These two keep FCing on me android.process.media and Marked (process com.android.vending). Any ideas?
I tried re-wiping all the caches and then re-flashing the ROM. It has been pretty good so far.
Off topic, but....when you use Titanium Backup to restore data, how do you do it? One at a time or in a batch?

I think that I'm about to ditch this ROM. I got the two other FCs to stop, but now I keep getting TwLauncher (process com.sec.android.app.twlauncher) force closing.

Personally I like MyBackup Root for backing up my apks+data. I would recommend LauncherPro as a more stable launcher, my preference. As far as the FCs, there shouldn't be any on a clean install with all data cleared 3 times. Have you had an improper shutdown or battery pull perhaps? This would cause data corruption, my suggestion is do a clean install, make a CWM Nandroid backup, and then restore that backup to initiate journaling and prevent data corruption. Any performance loss is negligible or non-existent.

I have had the phone lock up for 5 minutes. I had to do a battery pull to shut it down.
Ok one question did anyone able to tether with this will on 4g

Yes, you can tether with 4g using the Wireless Tether (Ad Hoc mode) app that you can download from the market. The Wifi tether (infrastructure mode) app, even if you download the latest version, will crash phone if you are using 4g.

That will cause data corruption my friend. Since this ROM doesn't have journaling enabled, any improper shutdown will lead to this and then you have to reflash the ROM.
I would suggest reflashing the ROM, getting everything setup the way you want it, ensuring everything works, then making a nandroid backup through clockwork. As soon as you make the backup, restore it. This will re-enable journaling so no more data corruption if you have to pull the battery.
The ROM is designed this way, so no, it's not a flaw or a bug, it's just the way it is. Journaling off leads to a slightly faster phone, which is why they choose this instead of journaling on.

I'm still on 1.0.2 so it might not be quite relevant, but I'm able to wireless tether with 4G without problems with the native wireless tether app included in the ROM.
Make sure the phone type is set to Epic 4G, and I just enable 4G after I start the tether. I've read that starting 4G, then the tether will cause FC.

Let's build a FAQ here to help everyone get the full benefits of this outstanding ROM! Let's not make this into a discussion thread so that it makes everyone's search alot easier to find what they need. I'm starting this since there is no FAQ or WIKI in the OP.
I'll start first...
MMS FIX: clear cache for your messaging app (whatever you are using) under Settings >>> Applications >>>Manage Applications>>All. Reboot into recovery, clear cache, Dalvik cache, and finally reboot.
I already posted this in the general forum but this seems more fitting. I installed CM7 on my Evo earlier today. Everything was amazing until I realized that the market app wouldn't work. Within a second of me tapping the icon I was back at my home screen. I wiped all my caches and wiped+ reinstalled CM7 but still no luck. I've reverted to a backup ROM for now until I can get this sorted out. Any help would be awesome!
Issue:
Bad Front Facing Camera Pics "Dark"
Bad Video on any setting other than "High"
Tried Different kernels:
SavageZen 0.0.3, 0.0.4, 0.0.5 no luck
Issue: Titanium Backup does not successfully install when I attempt to update from the market. Think it might have something to do with the GPS, but I don't know...
Attempting workarounds, anyone know if I can use Root Explorer to remove it and then re-download?
Hi Everyone
I would like to share what I have learned over the last week. First off. AWESOME ROM. Great job!!!
I discovered after many hours that a backup with Clockworkmod 3.0.0.5 does not restore on my HTC EVO no matter how I do the backup (i.e. manual or using Rom Manager). Good news is that if you revert back to 2.5.0.7 when you do the backup (either method), I have success on restore. I did the GPS fix by reverting back to a prior image and using the ##GPS….# method and then restored my CM7 and I am happy to report GPS is working.. I did flash Savaged-Zen-V0.0.5-CFS-HAVS-NoSBC-WiMAX-GB-Signed to see if that would improve things. I did them together so I can’t be totally positive which one fixed it. I believe the combination works though. 4G also works which is good news. I do not see signal strength or the icon in the notification but the Wi-Fi shows it is 4G connected (does not say sprint though). It also is consistent in range with what I had with the Sense ROM.
I also just confirmed that the Wi-fi hotspot also works on 3G (no 4G in my hood). I connected my laptop and ipad without problems and connected to the internet.
I tried everything flashing / restoring, etc to get Sprint Voicemail to work. I gave up and downloaded a program called YouMail. So far, I am happy with it (works very similar to the Sprint product and it is free).
Camera appears to also be working. I will do more tests.
I will keep you posted on the things I learn over the next few weeks. I hope some of you find it helpful.
I will answer questions if I can. Thanks for the great ROM. I look forward to updates.
Rico
Issue: No Disk Mode after flashing tast kernel.
Fix: Use savage kernel. Make sure its a Gb wimax kernel.
Issue: No WiFi tethering (bluetooth and wifi tethering both broken). I won't work in 3 or 4g.

Tried that. Didn't work. Used Root Explorer to search for all Titanium backup files. Erased. Checked in /system/app nothing there as well. Checked in Applications list to see if it was there, it was. Can't seem to erase it completely off. Tried to redownload and reinstall from market. No go.
hey guys, for the mms fix, i can't seem to get that to work. mainly because the clear cache buttons are greyed out for the original messaging app and chompsms

You need to flash the proper Gapps for CM7. Do a google search for 'Gapps-GB' and you should find the download for it. Save it to your Sd-card and flash it using recovery. Hope this helps.
I am not sure what the problem is. Are you using the built in wi-fi tethering. I read somethere what the tethering app does not work.. I have had no problems with the build in wi-fi tethering. I ran my phone yesterday with GPS and some calls, text msg, etc and left it on overnight to see how it would do. I woke up and still had 38% after over 20 hours since last charged.
I am currently expierencing terrible wifi reception on my evo, also the data seems to go in and out of connection sometimes
also my mms is not working properly and I cannot seem to fix it, I have ran fix permissions in ROM Manager, Clear cache in settings, and reseting app data in Titanium... I dont want to wipe my phone (too many settings to mess with to get it back to how I like it ) but I am willing to if thats how it will get fixed...
After rooting my sprint evo 4g my market no longer works. I have tried the advice from gat (gadgets and tablets) but that did not work. What do I do???
Need more specifics. "Not working" is very general haha
Does this mean:
1) Won't load
2) Won't download apps
3) Isn't showing up at all
4) Is just force closing like it's its job
It will let me even search for an ap most of the time but will not let me download and will force close every time. This puts a damper on tethering because I cannot download the wireless tether after root ap. I'm still on clockwork mod and rooted via unrevoked
I'm actually downloading another ROM, MikFroYo 4.5, in hopes that flashing another ROM would give the market another chance to work properly. All the people I know that have rooted androids, including one with an evo, have fully working markets and can still download aps. I am not sure of another way to get the wireless tether after root or titanium backup. I have been trying to learn from forums and google but I seem to be coming to a dead end on this topic. It seems to be happening to some other people but nobody has given them a useful answer it seems. The best answer I found was from GAT but they were specifically doing the process on a tablet and after trying this process my market was still a lame duck. Also, while someone is checking on this thread (thanks so much by the way, this is the second time I tried to get some feedback on this forum and the first went by unanswered for about a half a week), what would be a good ROM that would not take away 4g capabilities, let me get an ap back like sprint t.v. but still allow most sprint aps (nascar, blockbuster, nova, etc.) to be deleted (although I think I can do this with titanium backup if I can ever get it downloaded), improve speed and battery life, and not be very glitchy/buggy?

Okay, go to the 2nd post in this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=900584
There's a .zip for the stock android market. Boot into recover (if you don't have rom manager, turn off phone, volume down + power, select recovery) and flash the zip. Should install the working stock market. I used it when I uninstalled updates using Titanium Back-up and it deleted my whole market.
thanks dude i'll check it out.

eww, I had high hopes but it still force closes when I try and download wireless tether. Any other suggestions? In the mean time I'm going to see if using another ROM might help the situation...maybe give it a fresh start or something.
Yeah same story after new ROM...not able to download anything yet anybody else had the same problem and came out on top/would love to hear your solution?
What rom were u running first? Try flashing a stock rooted rom? If that doesn't work try ruu but leave s-off so it's easy to re-root quckly.

clockwork standard untouched from unrevoked and now mikfroyo 4.5...still no luck. I'll try another ROM but I think I have to have a new market or something like that. Is ruu unrooting?
Are you wiping data and cache each time you flash a new ROM? If not, you probably need to.
Are you restoring apps with Titanium Backup after flashing the new ROM? If so, only restore user apps (i.e. don't restore system apps). I've seen some squirrelly things happened when restoring system apps.
Last thing, from your home screen, try going in to Settings...Applications...Manage Applications. Tap on the "All" tab at the top and scroll down to Market and select it. Tap on the "Clear Data" button under Cache.
think i got it under control
You need to reflash gapps if you flashed a new cm rom

Hello!
Since Yesterday I tried install EK02 few times. Everything good until I'm restoring data. Then I'm getting reboots by itself every 2 or 3 minutes and I can feel the device getting very hot.
I have no idea what causing the problem. Well, maybe only one idea I have. It might be some apps which is not compatible with 2.3.6 and messes up everything.
Question. How can I find this app if I have more than 200 installed apps on the device?
Maybe somebody have this problem too? If yes, can we contact somehow and try to find what is going on?
I've installed only stock roms. Installed from scratch.
Please, guys, I really need your advice?
Thank you!
Are you restoring data from a 2.3.4 setup? Also, unless you go through and re-install the apps from the market individually, it may be hard to pinpoint the exact issue

Restoring system apps across different frameworks can cause undesirable results. I bet that's what your doing.
How many apps are you restoring. I found that if you have more than 50 apps on SD Card (apps2SD) it will cause hot reboots on EK02. This did not occur on EG30., I downgraded back to EG30 and kept the modem on EK02.
Does updating to EK02 remove your apps?
If you are using the OTA "patch" updates, no it won't remove any of your apps.
If you use the "full" EK02 updates, it'll remove the apps you have in /system but preserve the apps you have in /data (ie most of your apps)
Yep. And don't restore data.

This seems kinda dumb because everytime I flashed a new ROM before, I actually couldn't avoid the process. However now I can't get it at all.
So as we know, when you flash a new rom after wiping data or whatever, go through setup and whatnot, your phone then starts downloading the massive amounts of apps you had previously had installed. Lots of people hate it and want to avoid it, however I flash new stuff a lot and wipe data a lot. Ever since I got my GNexus, I can't get it to auto download the plethra of previously installed apps. It sucks, going through and downloading 50 different apps manually everytime I want to wipe data.
Any suggestions why it isn't detecting a new setup or whatever?

I think it depends on the rom you are using. I didn't have it with Manhattans rom for example but everytime I wipe and install the AOKP rom which I use all the time it works fine.
I think it has something to do with whether or not the dev of the rom has included Google auto restore process. I could be wrong though. What I used to do was use app manager to back up or titanium beforehand although I do think the auto restore is a lot easier.

From what you say, maybe more the GApps package I'm installing? I would think that would be part of it. Its just weird. Does this on both CM9 Kang and GummyNex, granted both use same gapps package (kejar31)

A possible work around would be to use TiBU and select just the apps you want back, +/- their data.
(auto restore works on bigxsie's rom but I stop it and use TiBU because it's faster out here in rural Aus)
Ok so right when i got my sprint galaxy nexus (last friday) i rooted and unlocked the bootloader and got right into flashing after running Black Ice rom i was loving it til all a sudden i was getting FC and random reboots, i thought it might of been the rom not liking my phone. So i reflashed and let all my android apps download via market and only restore data of certain ones and restore other apps in titanium. Still issues with random reboots
I then decided to try Gummy and it was working great no force closes or anything then just out of no where my device rebooted for no reason?
I restored apps the same way via play store.
Do you think i should exchange it for another one? Or do u think its an app or what?
Suggestions would be greatly appreciative.

Why are you not asking this question in the rom thread? Because obviously it has to do with something in the rom not interacting with something else nicely. Most likely an app or data in an app which doesn't want to play nice.

Pretty sure it's an app. If you have time and patience reload the rom on clean install. Download all the apps fresh from play store do not restore any. On the apps that you feel you must restore data do one at a time, use the phone for a while and see if it does it. Then restore data for the second app you feel that you must restore data on and again run the device for a while all is good move to a third. Eventually you will run into the issue again and just go back one step delete the app that you last installed data for and see if it goes away. Unless you have a logcat of the reboot and you can pinpoint what caused it
