1650mah ORIGINAL Samsung batteries now available - Vibrant Accessories

Hey all,
As you know the Galaxy S 4G, Giorgio Armani, and a few new Galaxy S phones all have 1650mah batteries that fit in our VIbrants perfectly.
A person in the I9000 has located a store that sells them and is now relisting them on ebay in batches of 5 every one or two days.
If you want a replacement battery, this is a GOOD one. It offers 10% more juice over the stock battery you have and fits WITHOUT any additional battery cover or anything. It is original straight from Samsung
Price is 26 Euro which currently translates to $38.50. It is shipping from Europe.
Enjoy. I just bought one

Its way too much expensive. I just prefer cheap chinese batteries on Ebay. I am carrying one additional one with me and not anymore having battery problems.

Yup. Most of the China made batteries are much more cheaper than this & have better capacity. However, some are not in full capacity as listed but some are like Yoobao, Kingmax & Momax.
However, I may get one Samsung Galaxy SL battery 1650mAh in my place here for around USD15.00 only. I bet it can fit into our Vibrant.

Where is that you are getting the 1650 mah battery for $15?

Yup. I got the offer from one of the mobile phone shop here. However, after double check with them that the Samsung Galaxy GT-I9003 battery can't be fixed into our Vibrant due to the size is a bit thicker. Same as GT-I9003 thickness is more than Galaxy S GT-I9000 & Vibrant. No luck I guess.

Please confirm that you can charge the battery. A lot of other batteries, from the 4G or Fascinate, for instance, will work for the phone, but will not charge.

Cool, 3 batteries for 35 bucks...can put two on ebay and keep mine for free.

Anyone want to set up a group buy? I want to buy.it but don't need 3.

Dang! Nice find there. That seems to be original which is good.
I'm thinking of creating a group buy for these. I already have mine and it's great so I will either a. Buy 10-15 and resell them invidually on ebay for around $15-20 with the shipping included or b. Get orders here and split the cost.
That is if enough people are interested of course.

Just a quick note, that site has 2 batteries.for the sgs 4g with one being aftermarkwe(the one for 8) and the other being oem, which os.on the site for.20. Anyone know what the difference is between them?

I am in for a group buy, but like some one mentioned will there be a problem to charge these batteries in Vibrant?

No. The batteries WILL work correctly for charging.

get 3, a laza wall charger and you will never plug it in again ...except when transferring files

No offense, but I'm almost totally certain that this is not a Samsung original battery. The Spanish translation is absolutely wrong and literally makes no sense. Compared to the factory battery, which is correctly translated, it is glaringly obvious. Samsung has better translators in Spanish than the Chinese factory that cranked out these reasonably convincing fakes. They have improved the look of the label itself, but the tell-tale faulty translation is still there verbatim from the Chinese fakes that I bought myself.

Well you are wrong. This is from the i9000 forums. The guy is a regular xda member there. Pretty sure they are legit.

Well.. I have to ask the obvious question:
Is this guy from the forum fully bilingual and has he personally examined the point? I have both batteries myself, so I speak from experience, and it makes no difference to me on a personal level, but what I'm saying simply is true. The fakes are poorly translated. The factory originals are correct. I'm not trying to pick a fight. Just a public service announcement, so to speak.

I don't think they are OEM batteries.
Why don't these batteries show how many mah they have?

That's one of their multiple flaws which distinguish them from the originals. I think, as I recall, the do have a rating, but it's not accurate. They also should have a serial number, but these are fake also. Both mine are identical in serial number. Like I said, I'm not looking for a fight here. I'm simply trying to make sure that anyone who buys this knows what they are getting.
I bought two and complained about my list of problems, which I've not enumerated in total in this thread, and they were rather minor, considering the price, but because the item was falsely portrayed as Samsung, the seller refunded my purchase price, plus shipping.

Who has extended batteries and can we get pictures?

I am thinking about getting an extended battery for my Vibrant, specifically this one: http://cgi.ebay.com/3500mAh-Battery-w-Back-Cover-Samsung-Vibrant-T959-/280576737493. Now, I was wondering if I could get feedback from owners for extended batteries:
Which one did you get?
What is the quality -- how long does it last you?
Can you provide pics of how much fatter it made your phone?
Thanks!

Extended battery with Clear Protector for entire phone
Use this and your battery life more than doubles. It is very comfortable, rubberized coating, and the battery rocks. The door is quite thin considering and fits comfortably in the hand. They are also going to make custom clear protectors for the entire phone and have them up for sale within 2 weeks.

Yes. About 3.5 times the cost of a typical OEM 1500mAh battery but it's not like there is much competition at size. If they produced them on a scale closer to Samsung's own, they'd possibly be cheaper.
I've also seen the cheap non OEM batteries not even charge all the way up to their advertised capacity and then their efficiency is also worse than the OEM battery. I've also seen many Vibrants busted by using cheap batteries. They've overheated, exploded or caused component failures before exploding.
At least OEM batteries perform as expected for the most part. Anyone done any or seen any performance tests done on these Mugen batteries? I'd expect them to at least perform as advertised given the price. I might actually consider getting one of these even though it costs more than what I paid for the phone itself! LOL
If you don't buy direct, you can find the Mugen one online for less than $100.

Just an update with my Cheap Knockoff battery LOL. Its been running great with no leaks, no overheating or anything. its the 2800mah extended battery. Ive been getting 2+days with the battery. Thats with 3g on always, screen at brightest level and streaming slacker/pandora a couple hours a day. Please dont be scared to order one of the cheap batteries, they actually do work. Im just a cheapo that perfers grocery store brands vs the Big Name brands.

Thank you.
I would like to see something better comparison wise than a lighter, I really want to be able to keep on 3g all day and get most of a days charge.. I have to keep off 3g, bluetooth, gps all the time to get 17+ hours out of my phone.. and heaven forbid I use google maps or something.
Don't get me wrong, my phone is awesome, I am used to having to keep things like 3g off to have enough battery, but it would be nice to be able to USE the phone without fear of it dying too early..

yea, i just bought one i will see how works
On the captivate forums a user bought a few of these different mAh batteries and did tests with some battery meters. None of the batteries did as well as the stock OEM batteries. Even known "good" brands like Seido didn't do well. The higher capacity batteries never did as well as even stock batteries and the cheap eBay batteries that matched the originals did really bad.
If i want an extra battery i will just buy it from AT&T or Moto - or somewhere that i know the one i buy is genuine.
i bought one today too
I asked the seller:
Does the battery fit in the original battery-case?
here is his answer:
his is andida battery. It is better than the original battery thick only little .do not worry,it could be use
Do you think it will fit?
I looked and it seems to me like there's not really room for a thicker battery....
Make sure to check out the seidio battery...that might be a good one.

I would be very wary of any battery that is any thicker than the original. If you have to press harder on the cover to get it to clip on with the thicker battery, it could be physically stressing the circuit boards or other components.

what's the capacity on the standard battery packs? That 2.3ah one you linked to does not look much bigger, do you also need a new back cover for that one?

Only $5.99 USD?
That's too good to be true ... most probably fake, I meant it contain less than 2300 mAH.
And it is for "Galaxy Nexus prime" ... bwahahaha ... Yeah, right!
Also, it does not look to have NFC.
I bought this one: http://www.ebay.ca/itm/110797773716#ht_4338wt_905
It has NFC and it is (slightly) higher capacity. The back cover fits perfectly, and is almost identical to the CDMA GN back cover. Makes the device just a tad less concave near the bottom. Looks and fees better in my opinion.
I've ordered one of the 3,800 ones, I'll post a review when I get it!
Both the cheap ones do seem a bit too good to be true, but for the price of the so called 3800mah one I might try it and test it out.

Been thinking about this. I hate putting on huge battery packs so the 2000mAh was appealing. but $50 for such a small bump is hard to justify for me, especially considering I have no plans to get a desk charger and swap batteries.

I was thinking the same thing, but I went for it anyway. I bought it so I wouldn't have to swap batteries. The 2000mah battery has about 15% more capacity, so if you get say 12 hours on the regular battery, you should get 13.7 hours. If you get 18 hours, you should get 20.6 hours. As well, I find my GN feels much better in my hand with the extended battery: it is slightly heavier and less concave in the back (i.e., it looks like an LTE GN).

It is too good to be true. EBay is crawling with fake "OEM" batteries with a sticker that looks exactly the same as the real one. Makes it almost impossible to tell from a pic. If you want a "real" OEM battery, you need to get it from a known good seller. Shimshop on EBay sounds reliable from reports here. There's also Expansys, they likely have the real deal. The pricing I've seen is about $30/per for the real ones. Much cheaper and it's probably a fake.
i was thinking these: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Original-OE...ccessories&hash=item2a18a7b669#ht_4442wt_1247
looks legit but who knows.
Also newegg had some but I don't see them now.
I've been using the bargain-basement eBay China batteries in everything from DSLRs to cell phones for like 7 years. They never work quite as well as OEM but at 10% of the price for 90% of the performance I don't care.

Its funny you posted this. I ordered 3 of them with charger and got them a few days ago. They are not OEM however they actually work pretty well. I sent seller email before i bought them and was told in his own words they are OEM samsung batteries.. I did this so when they were delivered i would have proof that seller was stating the fact they were OEM... I knew however for 14$ there was no way they would be real. This way when I contacted seller to complain i would have a leg to stand on. I sent him and email stating that they were fake and that I wanted to know what they were going to do about it and 1 hour later a paypal refund for the full amount was issued. These guys know they are selling fake stuff however unless you have a trained eye and know what you are looking for it would pass as an OEM product. For the price.... They are good batteries...lol.. To be honest i would have gladly paid the money if the seller would have come clean on the matter.. I will take pictures and post them when i get a chance..hope this helps....cheers
I took pic of all 3 with charger and a pic with a real OEM next to the eBay battery...can you tell the difference? lol... Oh and pics were taken with my Nexus so please excuse the quality...
The "original" ones on eBay IMO are fakes. Also the typeface used on the label definitely doesn't match the OEM battery that comes with the phone. I would avoid them and buy from a trusted vendor like Expansys or Handtec.
If you email the sellers of these real, but fake batteries, they will quickly say they made a mistake posting and the batteries are not genuine... I hate when sellers play games like that.
We should all mass-purchase these "original batteries" and demand refunds at the sellers expense, just to teach them a lesson. It's not right to knowingly scam the public.

Agreed. Usually you won't go wrong if the seller has included "genuine" in the listing. Be careful when they don't include that word. That's common ebay sense.

I go to Shenzhen and HK regularly, and I've been in the shanzhai/jiamao markets there and they have booths with blank batteries and the stickers that look almost exactly like all the major brands, they will make you up 100 or 50 or any qty you like on the spot. When they sell a counterfeit battery they always include a charger.....guess why? They caution you not to charge that counterfeit battery in your phone, it might explode or catch fire!
So they always sell the charger with the battery.
NO WAY would I put one of those P.O.S. in my phone.
They are tempting though.
PS: Not claiming accuracy in my pinyin terms but you get the idea

Yeah ..i was pretty sure when I bought them that they were fakes so when I received them I was not so surprised.. I did however get 3 batteries and a charger for free..lol...They are actually pretty good...They don't heat up and seem to last as long as the original. They are about 90% as good as the OEM as far as discharge times. Overall I am quite happy with them...And for the price I can't go wrong..
Damn I wish I had seen this the only way I knew was that it was fake was the NFC didn't work.

I've been using ebay batteries in my G2 for a long time. For the price I'd say they are worth it. I had a 2200mah evo 4g battery from ebay in my G2 for over a year and I just recently had to replace it because it wasn't holding a charge quite as long as it used to. When I first got it, it would easily last a day, which was something the stock htc battery couldn't do. Now I have an extended 3500mah battery I paid only 6 dollars for and I can get 3 days off of a charge. I have a 2300mah battery on order for the nexus, I'll make a review thread and let you guys know how it does.

Counterfeit OEM batteries

I recently bought what I thought was an OEM battery from eBay for my Epic 4G touch.
It's a really convincing fake (or at least I think it's fake). The giveaway on this one is the QR code/data matrix next to the serial number.
On the three OEM batteries I have, the decoded barcode starts with GH43, and contains the model number. On the fake one, the QR code is just the serial number.
Thoughts? Could this actually be a real battery, and Samsung changed the way they barcode their batteries? Or, should I try to get my money back on eBay?
Does the battery work? How much did you pay?

The battery works. I paid $10.29. It also weighs two grams less than my original battery, and the contacts don't line up properly (I can see a black line in the opening for one of the three battery contacts. The typography is almost perfect, but just looks different than the three OEM batteries I have lying around (one from Epic 4g Touch, two from Sprint Galaxy Nexus).
I think I'm going to return the battery and hope that the seller will reimburse my shipping cost.
I got two batteries from Amazon, an Anker and a oem Samsung, paid similar price and both turned out to be good purchases. Have two epics 14 months old and needed to replace batteries in Dec. So far so good.

I'm afraid to use a counterfeit battery given that Li-Ion batteries have a small chance of exploding. I also could get a non-OEM one for two or three dollars off of eBay (they're probably crap), so why would I pay extra a "Samsung" branded fake one when it's probably the same?
You don't know what your getting until you open your package after ups delivers it.
I ordered aftermarket and original so I could compare then. The Samsung battery was identical to my original except it had a different serial number.
All good!

I got one of those a few months ago but I ordered it knowing it was a fake since it was $3 and not advertised as OEM but had the OEM label. It was an obvious fake on arrival but it worked fine. After a few weeks it definitely got worse life than stock turned so I peeled back the sticker and it was a 1500mah.
Here it is, the crappy label is already wearing off. And here is the info under the crappy label too. I made a thread with better pics a few months ago too. I recently got some EzoPower brand batteries off Amazon and so far so good.
Found my old post with more pics of my fake battery when new http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=32928599

Mine looks just like that, but with the sticker applied well. I'm definitely returning it now especially since it was $10. Thanks for the link to your pictures.
Sure thing. If its a good ebay seller I wouldn't be surprised if they just credit you.
I would trust amazon over ebay personally. I don't know if that is justified or not but have heard too many ebay scam and counterfeit stories. I have never been disappointed from any amazon purchase but have on many ebay ones. Ebay is more like going to the swap shop or yard sale than doing business through a business.

I've read they outlast Samsung batteries on countless occasions. I just ordered a two pack with and included charger for 19 bucks off Amazon. Winning!

Is this the battery you got: http://www.ebay.com/itm/OEM-SAMSUNG...-Galaxy-S-II-Epic-4G-Touch-D710-/261118779287
seller: bestway268
I just purchased one this morning before reading your post. If it's the same seller, then I'm going to have them cancel my order
Yes that exact item.
Who would waste their time creating a counterfeit $10 per battery scheme, that's really dumb crime, is it even profitable? ::sighs::

Ummm Chinese battery $2 fake sticker $0.10 sell for $10, so $10 - $2.10 = $7.90 profit per battery. Yeah I'd say its profitable sell 100 batteries you just made $790 profit on a $210 investment. And most likely they arw paying well below $2 ea for bulk orders of batteries.
I like to break stuff!

Works just as well if not better than OEM. Love the travel charger it comes with too

I got my money back, so I decided to take the sticker off. Lo and behold the battery is faker than I thought. It's thinner than a real battery, so they just glue a piece of black plastic to it to make it thicker.
