I recently rooted my phone G2 and flashed CM7 RC4. Everything is fantastic! There is only one thing bugging me and I'm not sure if it is just me. When texting, all sent messages are displayed above the received messages. Is this normal? I can post a picture if needed.

Yea. You have to change the clock settings location. You are using wrong time sone.
Haha, I figured it out. Under the messaging settings, I had "use original timestamps" checked. I unchecked it and now it is back to normal!

If you're using handcent, under settings, did you check the box that prevents re-sending of a message?
Its happening to me also, I been receiving same text message from various senders since about 1pm! its really pissing me off!!! My setup is in my sig.
Just stock SMS. I even loaded handcent and selected don't resend and it still does. Help

Have you tried going into settings -> applications-> manage-> then force stop mms, then clear data and cache? Also if that dosen't (i think it should) remove all messages from your inbox you should do that also.

Just talked to sprint and the problem is how the SMS gets stuck in a loop on their servers. They asked if i was running any foreign Rom (of course not), as that can cause the corruption. The will have to fix it on their side.

Sprint fixed my SMS from hell. They tried to tell me it was the phones, but considering the sending phone was off, and the receiving phone was still getting them, I proved them wrong. Tier two took over and flushed something on their side and the text messages finally, thankfully stopped.

Hey guys
I just got my DHD 2 days ago, and im loving it!
I have a little problem with the stock messaging application though. When someone sends me a message, and I reply instantly, it sometimes shows that my reply was sent before the actual message. Or it says shows that my reply was sent 1 min before the initial message that i received.
For example, I receive a message at 6:39, and i reply to it instantly, it shows that my message was sent at 6:38 therefore it shows my message above the one ive been sent. Im guessing its a time issue. Perhaps my phone is abit delayed?
Another question, Im now using SMS Pop Up, i tried Handcent and Go SMS, but didnt like them as much. I want an App that has the same iphone messaging application, like the same bubbles n push notification n all. Are there other good ones? I didnt like the pop up notification of the Handcent and GO SMS.
Sorry for the long thread. I hope you guys can enlighten me
Happens to me too.
My guess is, that the messaging application simply uses an inaccurate timestamp or simply ignores the "seconds" part of it.
So no one knows how to fix this?

I'm disappointed that no one is able to help

The incoming sms is time stamped from the network. Ur issue probably happens because the person who messages u is on a different network that has a slightly different time. Also make sure ur time app is set to use network time. This might help.

Yeah the person is on a diff network but this didn't use to happen on my Nokia E71. Message times used to be based on my phone's time.
No other solution?
Thanks for your reply.

Hey guys, recently my Epic has started to receive multiple page text messages in a weird way. I'm using GoSMS, but I checked on stock and it's the same way. Anyway, how it's going is that it'll show up at (0001/0002) in front and then the second one will be (0002/0002) BUT the second one will be cut off and come as another text.
Also, if the sender's phone adds on like a (1/2), the (0002/0002) text will be part of the (1/2) text, then send the (2/2) text on two separate texts... if you need clarification on this, just ask. It's getting kinda annoying.
Anyone know how to fix this?
Thanks,
Hasseo
Oh yeah, I'm using GoSMS (the latest version) and I'm on SRF 1.2.
This here happened to me recently aswell. And it fixed itself. Lol....

Fixed itself? Danggg. Did you uninstall an application or flash another ROM?

Hey all,I have a problem. I am using chimpanzee ems for mu txt messaging,I unchecked everything in my stock sms program but I am still getting notifications from my stock ems along with my chimpanzee. Any ideas on how to fix this? Any help is greatly appreciated.
Sent from my PC36100 using XDA Premium App
Double check you UNchecked notifications on stock; that'd be the only reason why you're still getting them.
Yeah,I did that. I actually unchecked everything that was available to unchecked. I re-installed my Rom and it worked good the first day, then it started back up again. Confused.

Sometimes having weird stuff happening after i end a call: goes to some random contact in edit mode / dropbox app opens / etc
Tested carefully and it's not due to accidental touches around the "end call" button, it even did it once or twice without me ending the call...call ended by the other side, calling screen got closed and some contact popped out.
happens rarely, but wtf?
Are u on custom rom???

I'm unrooted and I get the same things. It's like I pushed something bit I heaven't. I hope that HTC will address this issue in their next update

The thing that pops up... is it the last thing you used or used recently?
Like cronus101 asked, if the apps that show after ending the call are the most recently used apps, then I'm guessing HTC Sense (the launcher) is crashing each time and since there's no home screen to go to, it displays the last used app. Pressing back will also cycle through the recently used. This is my guess. Try clearing data of HTC Sense in Settings-Manage apps. The best way to get rid of this is to do a factory reset and start afresh. There could be many reasons why Sense is crashing. This behaviour is typical of any launcher when it FCs. If you don't want to factory reset, you can try using a different launcher (Apex, Nova) and see if this still happens.

Lol today it ended up in medialink setup screen....none of the apps that pop up are in the recent list btw....

Hm, out of ideas. Factory reset should fix it once and for all.
