I've searched for this but no real confirmation:
Would my EVO 4G support a micro SDXC 64GB card? Anyone actually done this?
OR, is there any way to get my EVO above 32 GB of internal memory? Just want to fit all my music...
pretty sure the max for android is 32gb...try it and find out. should be 32 though
Yeah I don't think the evo will handle a SD card larger than 32gb...
Does this even exist yet? I didn't think microSDXC was on the market yet. I've seen SDXC cards, but haven't seen micro.
That said, I really do wish that some of the newer phone coming out would have support for this (since it's backwards compatible with microSDHC cards), just for future-proofing. Then again, maybe cost effective microSDXC cards are still far enough away that it doesn't really matter.
I can not find any 64gb micro SDXC cards available in the world, I'm googling and turning up nothing.
They better hurry, because Apple is about to have 64gb phones and customers expectations will be to match them.
Any updates? I know the 64GB micro SDXC works in the Galaxy S2 phones if you format the card as FAT32. Anyone brave enough to try the same in the Evo 4G?
I'm pretty sure it will work - mine works in my SGSI, SGSII, Sensation, and Transformer.

This is not true. Not everybody wants the same thing. Apple is **** anyway, so who cares what they are coming out with.

We concur with Evo4eva's statement of fact about Apple...it's unanimous!
SanDisk is selling them directly. Expensive, but price will drop soon.

Neither does anything else, but it works.
You need to reformat the card as fat32. This will limit the max size of a file to no more than 4gb.

if you want to be precise, no phone on the market supports microsd (all variation) above 32GB, but thats on paper, sometimes the unexpected do happen in real life, and manufacturer dont like to release these info out.

I just received my 16gb class 10 microSD today. I got it from Buy.com
http://www.buy.com/prod/oem-16gb-16...class-10-card-reader/q/loc/101/220244316.html
It was $32 after tax.
It comes with an adapter and a reader, which basically looks like a little usb flash drive that you put your memory card into and then plug into the usb port.
So far, no problems with it. It is actually like 14.9gb, but I guess thats just how it goes. It's been holding and managing files well, but I don't really know how to accurately test it. I've been downloading a lot of songs and pictures, taking pictures and video, moving files around, deleting things, and its handling everything, no errors.
Just one more update...
The card is still working well. No problems what-so-ever. If you're looking for a good LEGIT 16gb card, this one is a good deal.
I've just noticed that nobody really follows up on a review for batteries or sdcards, they only talk a lot.

Most people are looking for speed tests to validate a card being the class that it claims. Since there are so many ones that tend to exaggerate their speeds.
Perhaps run a speed test on the card and post the results. You can find some freeware ones doing a Google search. I personally have used Crystal Disk Mark and it worked fine.
http://crystalmark.info/software/CrystalDiskMark/index-e.html
You could try SD tools app. I bought a class 4 16g sandisk.
I modified the read ahead to 2048 but didn't do a test before dunno if it helped

Looks nice...I might have to buy one because I think my POS Wintech 16gb cl10 card is starting to fail on me.
My 8 gig class two that I've had through two completely different phones and countless downloads and erasing files as well as a few reformats has similar speeds after using SD speed boost...I've hit higher but scaled it back as I was afraid of hurting it.
Post a pic, lets see what urs comes in at.

Awesome. I tested my slow 8GB card and it doesn't even come close to that. Just bought one of these. Thanks for the speed test. Hopefully mine is as fast.
I just bought this today and hopefully it will be here by the end of the week. I will post some screenies of my speed test when it comes in as well. If mine has this same speed this is a great deal for anyone looking for a 16gb card. Anyone else who bought this should post some screenshots of their speedtest results on this card. The more we have verify the speeds the more likely we will know whether this is good or just a gimmick or just luck of the draw on speed.
Bought one of these for my 2nd EVO today. Will post speeds when SD card received and tested. I have a 32GB Class 10 in my 1st EVO and it screams but don't need quite that much storage capacity in 2nd EVO. Hope it turns out to be a good buy with great speed.
so i just did a test on my class 2 card i bought from frys, i get a 10 mb/s write but only a 5 mb/s read. this probably explains all the time i have to wait for my pictures to load in my gallery.
Hi all.
I have a 32 gb class 6 card (Topram) which I purchased about 2 weeks ago. I partitioned it with a ext2 and converted to an ext3 and had been running Mik 3DSupersonic with a2sd with no problems. Today I was copying the contents of the card to my computer using a card reader and something went wrong. Upon inserting the SD card back into the phone it was unrecognized. I have tried partitioning it with my phone through RA Anon recovery (it completes almost instantly) unsuccessfully and also through my Windows 7 computer without success. Are there any tricks I can try or is this brand new card shot?
Thanks for any insight.

Really? It was working fine for over 2 weeks. I purchased it through buy.com from a third party seller. I doubt it.
Yeah sounds like a 2gb card hacked to read 32gb until you try filling it up past the 2gb. If you don't mind me asking, how much did you pay for it?

If you're right it had to be bigger than a 2gb because I had upwards of 9 gb on it when it was working. I paid $46.75 Here's the link http://www.buy.com/pr/product.aspx?sku=219375390
I've contacted Topram about a warranty replacement. I'll keep you posted on the outcome.

Topram is really not a very good brand. SanDisk is the only manufacturer that actually has a working 32gb card out right now.

I learned my lesson now. I wouldn't have even considered it except it had very good reviews.
i have a small question about sd cards, i have a sandisk 8gb class 4 sd card that i am using and i used the app SD Tools to test the speeds of my card and my results were as if the class of my card was higher than 4.....but i dont fully understand what speeds are for each class, from what i have read a class 4 should have 4mb of write speed, but mine ranges from 8-10 on the tests...does that mean my card is like a class 8 or 10?...if anyone could clear this up for me that would be awesome...ill put a screenshot of my test results if that would help also...

this is the fastest results btw
Samsung's memory cards were updated late Wednesday with large-scale production one of the world's fastest microSD cards. The new 16GB microSDHC card runs at the same UHS-1 (Ultra High Speed-1) spec normally used for the latest full-size SD cards, giving it performance that would previously have been reserved for pro memory for DSLRs and video cameras. Sequential read speeds peak at about 80MB per second, or roughly four times the 21MB of regular microSD cards.
The storage is ostensibly meant for LTE-capable smartphones and tablets, where flash memory speed could bottleneck the connection. It should nonetheless be useful for cameras that take microSD storage and support UHS-1. Samsung reached the density through a combination of its more recent 20-nanometer manufacturing process to build 64-gigabit (8GB) chip layers as well as a toggle DDR2 interface that can saturate the newly available bandwidth.
Release schedules and prices weren't given out, although mass production usually precedes a launch within a few months or less.

We need to know which file system those cards are formated in order to reach the high speed. If it is exFAT, then those numbers are pointless as all the smart phone storage currently formatted in FAT32 which is much slower.
Awesome, now just tell me how to fit one in my One X.

It's a proper partition as opposed to a virtual partition like transformer prime. Wipe is fine, just don't tell it to wipe sd partition.
Only issue at the moment is that recovery doesn't have UMS, so if you don't have a booting OS and don't have backup/rom on phone then you are in a bit of a pickle Will be resolved when recoveries get more advanced. Very early days.

Hey guys,
For those of us running custom ROMs that enable USB-OTG, I just saw a really cool kickstarter project yesterday (and am already a backer) for a miniature microsd reader that you can just plug into your phone/tablet. I'm not in any way related to this project, I just really, really want to see it get funded. Here's an excerpt from the project page http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/andyfei/mini-microsd-reader-for-android-smartphones-and-ta
Hello world! You like your Nexus tablet but you hate the fact that it doesn't have a built-in SD card reader for storage expansion? My brother and I felt that way when we first got one in July 2012. So we decided to do something about it -- make one for it. After many months of hard work, finally we have something that we feel good about and we want to share with the world.
What does it do?
Well, it is just like a SD card reader that you use on your computer, except it is for Android tablets and smartphones that have MicroUSB port. You can use it to read/write MicroSD cards, copy files between your phone/tablet and a MicroSD card.
It supports MicroSDHC cards up to 32GB (max capacity by SDHC standard), and MicroSDXC cards up to 64GB (max capacity available on the market). SDXC standard supports cards up to 2TB -- this reader should support future MicroSDXC cards of higher capacity up to that, but we have no way of testing it right now.

it is common for the galaxy s3 to damage sd cards...
The same happened with Note 3 twice with two different card (64GB and 32GB)
What brand is the SD card? Maybe it's Made in China junk. Even Sandisk have had batches that suffered premature death. I've never had any issues with several Samsung phones since the original Galaxy S but I stick to established brands like Samsung, Delkin, Sandisk, etc.

Sandisk 64gb, toshiba 32gb
I had a pny 64 die in it and a 64 sandisk that works fine in every other device start acting up the way he pny did before dieing. a 32gb sandisk is working fine now with no hiccups. I'm not risking another $50 card in it whether it's the tablets fault or not.
I shoulda jumped on that 35 bb deal though.
I am using sandisk 64gb class 6 on my note 10.1 2014 with no problems so far
Sent from my SM-P605 using XDA Premium HD app
My S4 had that message happening with a Sandisk Extreme 64gb card a lot but it would always work still. Formatting it fixed it. My Samsung 64gb Extreme card hasn't had any issues yet in my Note. If you haven't formatted it yet, I would try that.
I had similar problem with the first note 10.1 2014, it had problem with the microsd slot. the card would work for a few minutes and then it would stop detecting it, showed corrupt sd card errors. I think the microsd module was broken, it "sunk inside", so it was really hard to insert the microsd with just fingers. I exchanged it for the new one.
The sd card works fine now, but this too has that weird defect with the module sunk in, i have to use the edge of another microsd card to fully insert one inside till it clicks in.
Not sure if anyone else have the same problem, but I may return this again and buy one from different store.
the tablet reboot when installing/update apps from play store will the sd card in (SanDisk 64gb).
