It's actually a MICRO HDMI port.
Here's the one I got from Amazon, works great with the new HDMI Mirring App.
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B003YA0BT8
Yes its a MICRO HDMI, not mini. And the usb is also Micro usb, not mini.
I would HIGHLY recommend buying from monoprice.com, fast shipping, and great products. I order over 100 bucks in cables each month from them, never had a problem.
Here is the one you need:

Thanks for the responses folks, its funny, www.monoprice.com is actually who i am ordering it from, ordered many switches for my home audio from them, i highly recommend them as well.
Thanks

explain to me where our micro-hdmi port is located on our phone.
lmao, 'splain to me would have been even funnier..
samsung is supposedly going to sell a micro-usb to hdmi out
Right. Micro-usb is coming, I've read that but the cable you found OP, is worthless to us.

You gusy don hav a micro-hdmi prot on ur vibrant!? WTF next u'll be tellin me taht u dont hav a front facing camera, a 4.3" screen and that ur on t-mobile instead of Sprint... lul
If the comedians are finished. mini micro usb adapter. Look on this thing called google.
Don't know if it will function. but it will connect. Info helpful. Jokes pointless.
Wow it's even easier. DUH one end goes into your micro usb slot (where your charger/connect to a computer) the other end into the tv. I would understand some people not understanding this...maybe they don't have a flat screen so they don't know where to stick it. Thanks neukom. They are on ebay for 5 dollars.

If you look at what he is linking its not micro usb but micro hdmi which will not work with our phone. You need either 3.5 to rca or micro usb to hdmi (which I guess is not available yet, haven't really check).
I understand. Pardon me.
50 dollars on ebay. link is in captivate forum. Think it ships from cali.

Damn, that's expensive.... These things shouldn't go for more than like 20 bucks online... (30 if it was i-branded )
the jokes were kinda funny, but at 1am bored and sleppy at work that looked like an micro-usb port. but thanks for the help anyway

It's a brand new technology. Micro USB to HDMI hasn't existed until now (recently), so don't expect it to be cheap for at least a year or so.
It's unlikely to be just a cable. There will probably be a "lump" in the cable holding some electronics.
If it was as simple as a straight cable, someone would have leaked the pinouts and I would be making my own since both micro-usb and hdmi ends are available at most electronics shops online.
micro hdmi for evo and micro usb for vibrant have different sizes... micro hdmi does not match on a vibrant...
Has anyone on this forum purchased the MICRO USB to HDMI cable?
I haven't heard any talk about this and I wanted to see what others' experiences might have been.
You can pick the cable up here. I would imagine that cable, plus a few bluetooth controllers and an SNES emulator, would ROCK!
Thoughts or feelings?

They don't work. The Vibrant doesn't have this capability. You have to live with streaming through Allshare or something similar, or using the TV-Out cable for your headphone jack.
Thanks for filling me in. I read online in a few places that we would have the ability to utilize and HDMI out, but heard no reviews on a such thing.
Thanks again for shedding light on the situation.

I know this does not contribute anything to the thread....but...
I found this post, which clearly shows you were not paying attention to what the OP even says, in combination with your user name to be quite funny. lol no offense.
I'd love to hook up my phone (sprint Evo) to my pico projector, but can't seem to find any micro-hdmi to mini-hdmi cables. Anyone know where I can find one?
I've found a few places that sell an Optoma brand one but none have them in stock.
i dont think i have seen a mini to micro cable. You should be able to get a micro hdmi to hdmi cable, then a hdmi to mini hdmi adapter.
In ebay.de there are a lot of....
Did you ever find one? I too have a pico projector that I'd love to use my phone with.
thx , verry usefull
thank you, much appeciated
Is it...
the same one that comes with the motorola atrix? if so, i've got like 4 of them...i work @ at&t. I can send ya' one. Of course, that means giving me your address. Muuuhahahahaha....sorry, kiddin'. No, but really, I have them.
Dear Thunderbolt Owners,
Please tell me that the USB video/audio cable works on the TB... this would strongly influence my decision on buying it.
Question if it does work:
Does this show everything not just audio/video like the crappy moto X I have?
I am sure many of us want to know this
The official video out cable I have for my old Incredible does NOT fit/work on my Thunderbolt.
I got to thinking about this after the thread in the gen discussion board, and really the AV cable shouldn't work anyway. It's an analog signal instead of a digital one. So I don't know why I thought it would work to begin with. I would like to see this USB to HDMI materialize for us. My luck it will never exist. But it is listed as a accessory, so hopefully they aren't referring to the DNLA adapter that HTC just released.
Maybe something like this...
http://www.amazon.com/Samsung-ECC1HU0BBEB-SCH-i500-Fascinate-Captivate/dp/B004H9XXZY
I don't know, sorry I need posts for downloading something special
If this was sold direct though amazon I would buy and test. I'm not willing to just throw away 50 in case it doesn't though.
USB to RCA would have been dreamy

They should fit, it's the same Micro-usb connector, now work it's another story.
Nope doesn't fit. Tried.

As I stated before... it does NOT fit and it is not a standard micro USB.
The Dinc actually has contacts on the top back that make it a hybrid proprietary mix of micro USB and video out signals. I should know, when HTC took forever to release it I was attempting to build my own as were others on XDA using pinout diagrams.
-Lil'
I can only hope for your sakes they release one. I can tell you when I had my iPhone hooking it up in my car and viewing everything on the screen I have in there was amazing. Esp for navigation, music videos, or reading email. OH, and lets not forget geeky bragging rights.
I had my DINC setup that way too. I was actually just looking at the specs on the DNLA adapter HTC put out. I figured at worst I could hide that unit and use the HDMI and run it to all the screens in my Tahoe.

I really do hope we can hook up a micro to HDMI to the TB. Now that hulu is working on my TB I think I might cancel my TV and internet and just use my phone.

Also if anyone else tries it and it works can you describe what comes up: E.g.: Homescreen, media hub, dlna media transfer screen, etc.....
I will buy that cable when I get paid Wednesday and see how it works, though it is made by Motorola.

Hey guys that SKU for the cable is a Droid X HDMI cable. SKN6377A
Dont think it'll help us.
Yea after further review, don't waste your money. It is micro hdmi type D to hdmi. It will not work. We have standard micro usb ports.
I very much doubt this will work for our phones, but this is the cable you are looking for.

I posted in another thread about cables compatible with the SG2 and ended up answering my own question when I found one in my box of cables.
See attached for photos if you want to be sure.
Part number 5457 (USB to SG2 connector) is the cable that I have and can confirm that the micro-B type from Monoprice is the same as used on the SG2.
I have a thread on USB OTG cables, already some around that are very cheap and work
be very interested to hear about the other cable there though!
Yeah, the hdmi cable seems to be the one people are looking/waiting for.
I will update the OP once it gets in. If this thread gets buried to far by then, I can send you a pm instead of bumping the thread if you like.
That'd be great, although I expect lots of others will appreciate the bump if it is to confirm they work!

exactly...
Meh, they don't ship to Italy S:
Looking at what they say further they are talking about it connecting a Droid X to your television, and the close up shots of the micro-end of this cable do not resemble a micro USB particularly. I think these won't work.
dude, there is no HDMI, micro HDMI or MICRO USB to HDMI port on this phone, its MHL, dont waste your money on that cable.
Your posted HDMI cable will NOT work as it is micros-HDMI to HDMI and not MicroUSB to HDMI as needed on the SDS2.
The cables were cheap enough that I just ordered a few different ones to try out and see if they worked. With all the gadgets I end up buying, the ones that do not work with the phone will come in handy eventually for something else anyway.
Since there is more interest, I will bump the thread once I find out if the other cables I bought work fro the HDMI.
I got my cables in and can confirm that both the micro and mini HDMI cables are not the same end as the Samsung (micro-usb).
I did contact them, and they stated they are working on making a micro-usb to HDMI cable. There is no eta on availability however. I can let you know when I see them in stock if you like because the prices on these cables are pretty high elsewhere right now and will wait until some cheaper ones are released.
Id really like to fine a nice usb-a to usb-c adapter as my MacBook only has usb-a ports and my pixel cable like everyone's is c to c.
Alternatively I'd like to also get a nice ubs-c to usb-a cable.
Lastly just for reference let's hear who has good usb-c to usb-c cables.
Not looking for cheap cables either, let's comprise a listing of only high quality products. Seems a waste to buy a near $1000 dollar phone only to plug it into a crap cable and accidentally fry it. I have no problem spending a little extra coin to ensure a quality product. I'm sure others can relate as well.

I too only buy Anker cables. They are very high quality. I've had the same cable that was linked but in 6' for over a year now and it works great. Some of the best cables, chargers and accessories I've ever bought. I also have an Anker BT speaker that works very well.
I have a few of their latest version. No problems yet.

Wanted to bring this topic back to life.. What about USB-C to USB-C 3.1? I can't find anything longer than 3 feet... at least by a reputable company like Anker.. Any input? My motherboard has USB-C 3.1 onboard and the 3' cable is just too short.. I can get one from Google.. $30

When in doubt, start with Monoprice and compare from there. That said, buying USB-C stuff is super confusing these days with USB 2.0, USB 3.0, USB 3.1 Gen1, USB 3.1 Gen2, and now this USB 3.2 stuff coming out (that rebrands USB 3.0 and 3.1 stuff to 3.2). All that said, see if maybe this is what you're looking for? The moment you start going to 3.1 instead of 2.0 or 3.0, you start getting some expensive and thick cables.
Speaking of Monoprice, I'm a big fan of this charger - 45W for $17 right now. I own 3.

Looks like that will do the trick! I just need one long enough to use with my computer. I prefer using the USB C port on my desktop ... I know regular USB-C to USB works fine.. Just my preference. Thanks! I always forget about Monoprice and their wonderful cable selections!
