hi, i got my DHD few weeks ago & couple of days ago i successfully installed ARHD 4.0 beta 4 sense rom on my DHD exactly as the way it has been instructed on the specific thread. everything is running smoothly, good battery life without using any battery saver programs like juicedefender, greenpower.
now i was thinking about trying the ARHD 3.3 rom as it is overclocked to 1.22ghz. how can i install that on my DHD? do i have to downgrade anything? or i can just download the rom & use rom manager to install it?
thnx in advance for the help.
Download ARHD 3.3 and full wipe to your SD card, flash full wipe and then the rom in CWM recovery. Note that this will be a clean install so you have to do a backup if you have something important on your phone.
thanks Hawks556. do i have to change any of the kernel or radio or leave it as it is & do a full wipe & install the rom?
There is a kernel included in the rom. Afaik it's one off buzz' kernels. After flashing the rom feel free to try any sense kernels.
There is no need to flash a new radio if your old one is performing well, but if you encounter any battery drain issues or weak signal try another radio.

Thank you all, done it, working fine.

I'm interested in trying a MIUI ROM and I wanted to know which is the best/most stable atm. I'm currently running LeeDroid 2.2f a2sd and want to know if there's anything i need to do first, before i can install it and if i can use ROM manager to do it. Any advice would be apreciated. Thanks.
I used miui-desire-0.11.5-deodexed_n_i_x some days ago. I also had LeeDroid before that and made a full wipe/factory reset and deleted the cache and the d-cache using Clockwork Recovery. It is stable, but you need to flash your language straight after u flashed the ROM or you will have japanese language.
Hi
Hoping someone can help. I recently rooted my Desire. I then installed LeeDroid and everything looked great. Then my phone rebooted itself and started rebooting approx every 10 minutes even when not in use.
I had wiped all data and caches before installing and made sure I had the correct radio version installed.
So I decided to wipe again and install the CM ROM instead. Exactly the same thing happened - it booted up into CM fine and then after 10 mins or so decided to start rebooting.
So I then restored back to my stock ROM and the phone was fine - no reboots since.
Has anybody else had this issue? Is it a problem with the phone or the ROMs or something else? I find it hard to believe it's the phone as it's fine when the stock ROM is running.
HELP!!!
Never had reboots like that, not on a single ROM. I followed everything as they suggested (ROM) thread. Check your radio version, if it is compatible with the ROM. Try a different kernel.

Sorry if i'm thick....how do i try a different kernel?
The radio version is compatible.
nobody else?
Serach for kernels here. Just flash them via recovery as the ROM. No wipe needed.
How do I know which one to try? Also, will this affect getting my restore back if it goes wrong or does my backup include the kernel?
Sense kernel for Sense ROMs, AOSP for non Sense ROMs.
Nandroid backs up the kernel as well. Which to try? I suggest the latest Neophyte 1000mv, because:

Just a full wipe, and flash RCMIX from recovery that will install it's own kernel.
i believe you come from Samsung or any other device where you need to flash kernel first and then flashing rom.
HTC is different, the rom itself contain the kernel. Just flash the rom, it contains the kernel.
Try out the ROM first, and then if you want to further optimize your overclocking, you can try other kernels. (usually the built in rom will work just fine)
Personally I recommend Jkoljo's utility to do that
If you do find a kernel you like and you flash another ROM you will have to re-flash the kernel again.
This is because, as previously stated, ROMs will install their own Kernel.

hi all,
using ARHD3.3 and clockwork 3.0.0.6, recomended radio
going to flash ARHD6.1.1 and recommended radio.
got some questions:
-is it ok to flash the rom and then the radio?
-how can i back up my sms (only)?
-they say, i need at least clockwork 3.0.2.x, which version is the best to use and where can i get it?
-pays off to wait for sense3.5 instead of 3.0 in ARHD6.1.1? what is the difference between them?
many thanks for any answer/suggestion/experience

Doesn't matter whether you flash radio or ROM first. I'd flash the ROM first
You can backup your SMS with google mail or an application for it.
Guess you don't need another cwm, the ROM gives you 4ext recovery automatically.
Can't tell you about the difference between sense 3 and sense 3.5 (one guy once compared it to windows vista and seven), but you should go ahead and flash sense 3 arhd anyway, you'll love it
And don't forget super wipe!

Hi.
My girlfriend is really fed up with the low amount of memory on her Wildfire S, so I've decided to help I've spent large portions of today and yesterday on:
unlocking the bootloader (using htcdev.com),
rooting (using SuperOneClick http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=803682),
partitioning her microSD (kingston 4 GB, class 2, fat32 + 1GB EXT4 + 256 Swap if I remember correctly),
installing recovery (installed ROMManager and flashed CWM recovery from there)
and experimenting with ROMs.
The problem is that I can't get the ROMs to boot.
I've tried:
1. m1ndh4x8r GB2.3.5 - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1432259 both odexed and deodexed - bootloop on the white HTC logo
2. Wildfire S Cracker GB2.3.5 - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1479002 - waited almost 30 minutes for the HTC logo to disappear and boot animation to start, but that never happened.
3. HenseMod 6 - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1434497 - the only ROM that managed to boot without problems. However I need all the HTC widgets, so I'm intending to switch to a different one.
I've also tried staying with the stock ROM and flashing a different kernel (OC Kernel http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1430677) so that link2SD would work with EXT4, but that didn't boot also.
Does anyone here have any idea what could be the source of all these problems? Maybe you could suggest something? A different Sense ROM, some "procedure" that could help me.
Please, I just want her to be happy
Cheers!
Sound's like a Kernel Panic. I dont know how to solve it. But I had a great Sense rom this worked for me.
Here you are:

I hope this will fix the Problem, and it's a really great rom.
before you flash the rom,did you wipe data and wipe cache, and what is the version of your recovery?you need use the newest 5.028 is better.

I always wipe data, cache and dalvik, just in case.
I can't check it now, but I installed Rom Manager just yesterday so I assume, that it flashes the latest version of the recovery.
I'll be able to experiment more on Wednesday. I'll try different roms, maybe the same roms, but immediately flash different kernel etc.
I'll let you know how it turns out.
Thanks
I have the MetroPCS version of the WFS that I've been messing with. I got the bootloader unlocked, I got it rooted, and I got S-off (without xtc clip).
When I try to flash cm7, it throws up an error and won't install. I tried m1ndh4x8r sense 3.5 and it 'worked' except com.Android.phone kept fc'ing making it unusable. wifi also didn't work. I'd like to have sense 3.5 but would also like cm7. i also tried the cm9 roms but they don't want to install either. Is there a ROM that has both (cm7 and sense) that's stable with working wifi? I'm not using the phone for calling, just messing with mods and such but may activate it at some point if I find a suitable ROM for it.
