I just got the legitimate nodo focus update, Just letting everyone know before they go flashing for no reason.
network????
Hacked?
What software version were you at? Had you previously updated to NoDo. What method did you use? Did your firmware version change? Radio change? Bootloader change?
Wow, you can't just say that and not give ANY details...

I was trying to say it diplomatically but I am glad you got right to the point. Poster should have had something to add.
I got my NoDo update right at the end of March. I'm on Rogers, 7004 is what I was on before NoDo I think. The phone is still unlocked and I can load xaps, it hasn't gotten any faster or slower. Copy and Paste is nice though, very well done in my opinion.
OP, show proof!
Old news.... Rogers ATT in Canada pushed that a while ago... Those of us on ATT State side still have to wait another week or so
I got the NODO update this past Thursday night. I'm on AT&T in the US... I debranded my phone using the Samsung registry editor though.
only problem is that WiFi stopped recognizing AES type WPA2 encryption. I had to switch everything to TKIP. Other than that, it's great!

I'm currently running 7.0.7390 and just received another new update message. I'm at work and far from a computer just looking for a heads up.
That's the May Security update (7392) first showed up on May 3rd.
I have a HTC Arrive rolling 7389, anyone know if the security update will eventually roll to us as well? Or did they come with that already installed.

I'm sure it'll hit your phone, Sprint probably hasn't cleared it yet. It hasn't hit AT&T yet either.
I'm with T-Mobile USA and the update showed on 10-May for my HD7.
I wasn't sure it would since I updated my radio software (5.51.09.29).
Microsoft hasn't updated that "Where's my update?" site either. It shouldn't be much longer.

True. I forgot it came bundled with your NoDo update.
As many of you know, AT&T and Rogers Lumia 900s arent getting the tango update.
Someone in the general windows phone thread posted the generic OS updates for tango in cab forms. Is it possible to just push these cab files to the 900? (Also which files to download?)

I'm not sure I pushed the right languages (I haven't developer unlocked my Lumia to check) but I pushed

Where is your proof for this statement?
Well we aren't getting the tango update Yet*. But we will get it.
Sent from my Lumia 900 using XDA Windows Phone 7 App
It would be amazing if we can push this update to our 900s but I thought only the 800 and 710 roms are out.
This is still better than waiting on carriers to release the updates. Heck rogers didn't release the purple screen fix yet!!
I've been reading on other forums and some people have been saying that AT&T and Rogers are completely skipping tango and waiting to go directly to 7.8.
Speaking of the purple screen issue, is there an AT&T Cab?
Rogers is saying they have an update for the 900s coming at the end of July. I would like to believe that it is the 7.8 update, however, because Rogers hasn't posted the purple screen fix, or allowed the network setup app to be available in Canada, i have my doubts they would be so proactive. They may have been a 90 day exclusivity contract for Canada in there that they are using to block the network setup app from allowing full porting to another carrier, which would end about the middle of July. I can't think of a good reason for them to sit on the screen issue fix except maybe that they don't want Nokia to succeed. The 800 seems to be doing well and is receiving lots of attention and updates,(which is not Rogers). Why we have such a huge delay is mystifying, and counterproductive to Nokia/MS big Lumia push.
I am working with SuperSport on getting 8112 and the Tango update on the Rogers Lumia 900. Will keep everyone posted.

microsoft said 7.8 will be available sometime after 8.0, at the dev summit. So its probably tango to hold us off.
So I was at work today and my Rogers 900 informed me of an available update. When I got home I plugged it in and Zune informed me that 8112 was available. Ran the update and it installed fine.
BUT THEN
Zune procedded to download and start to install 8773 (7.10.8773.98 to be precise). It's still going right now but it appears that I have been Tangoed out of nowhere.

Yup normal Lumia 900 bought at a Rogers store (in Toronto if it matters) with no modification of any sort. Had the "Use cell data to check for updates" option turned on and got the notification at work. Plugged it into my PC and Zune began to do two updates. First one to 8112 and then the second one to 8773.
Still trying to figure out a way to verify this is in fact Tango.

Very weird but similar as to how some rogers customers see the new camera extras app in the marketplace and other customers don't!
Just another confirmation for a Rogers 900. On tango now but still im still waiting for the purple screen fix. In the meantime... medium brightness it is.
Okay this is kind of weird because I know T-Mobile has not rolled out the update. In fact I believe they are completely refusing to do it to force people to resort to upgrading phones. But I got this system update on my phone this morning and I am wondering if anybody has gotten it as well or has any explanation. I haven't downloaded it yet.
T-Mobile SGH-M919. Weird because it says the GPE
it has been said before if you would have searched, but it is a patch for the stagefright vulnerability and that is about it.

Which rom where you using when you get this message?
GPE has already been updated to 5.1, so even if that is LP it's still older than current.
I have been calling TMOBILE (US) every week since May to find out where the LOLLIPOP UPGRADE is for my SGH-M919 ((Galaxy S4) and finally about 3 weeks ago I got them to confess that SAMSUNG HAD GIVEN THEM TO UPDATE FOR THIS PHONE - BUT, THEY WERE NOT GOING TO RELEASE IT.
When I asked why, I was given the B***S*** answer that there were known bugs and all other providers had problems with it - I said they were corrected in the 5.01, and 5.1 versions - he then basically (without saying it) stated they want people to buy newer devices.
I told him I OWN MY DEVICE, THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH IT, and I WILL ROOT IT AND PUT A CUSTOM ROM ON IT.
I was told, you will void your warranty.....I rolled with laughter and said...it is over 2 years old - THERE IS NO F***ING WARRANTY anymore...and I hung up.

Yet another great example of why I jumped ship for Cricket. Tmo does all this uncarrier crap because they say they care about the consumer, but when it's all on the table they're just like Verizon or Sprint or AT&T. If you're on older hardware, then they don't care about you. You're a number that they added years ago, and all that matters are the numbers they'll add today and tomorrow.
I'm still rockin' my S4 after all this time. When I'm ready to upgrade, I'll be buying my phone unlocked and ready to go with Cricket. Now that the new Nexus devices are on their way, I'm just going to save up and splurge on the Nexus 6P and not have to worry about bull**** carriers screwing me on updates and security fixes.
I buy T-Mo phones because they traditionally have unlocked bootloaders, so I can flash whatever ROM I like. ATT, and I believe Cricket, tends to use phones where the bootloader is locked down tightly. I like the open Nexus platform and am also considering one in the future...
So I just purchased a new pixel 2 XL, an I'm getting ready to update my phone to the latest 8.1 OTA firmware from Google developer section (pie looks to have too many problems that are unacceptable to me), and I'm seeing T-Mobile firmware. I am on T-Mobile in the US, but I'm wondering if this is firmware for European market or something weird.
Should I use the T-Mobile firmware, or the non-specified OTA?

Thank you for answering, unfortunately the only update that corresponds with OPD1 for my device is the firmware I am currently on. There are also multiple firmwares with the same date for other similar numbers (there is an OPD1 for Rogers, as well as one for Telstra and another with no signifier and so on). I'm not seeing anything that really correlates to my device in particular. Not for updates anyways. The build numbers have changed.
In my mind it is only logical that they have Google images and Verizon images as they never released model that was carrier specific outside of those two.

I really appreciate your help. I am on stock firmware and have really good connectivity, so I think I'll do what you have done and stick to similar firmware.
I have one last question. I'm about to sideloaded this, the instructions say to make sure there are no pending updates before proceeding. I have pending pie update which I have not downloaded, is this going to cause issues? I can't see why it would. I guess at worst it will reject my sideloaded at worst if it was expecting something else?

Lol. Yeah, much has changed since the good ole days. Welcome home! ?
Can some one confirm what OTA should I download for T-Mobile US on Pixel XL 2 for 9.0 ? Thank you
The one NOT for Telstra.
I'm hoping they release an update for TMobile. I'm having serious signal issues since moving to Pie... Once the signal drops a bit I immediately drop to 3G or even H+... Never had that issue with the TMobile release for Oreo.
As the headline states, I bought a Fold on launch day here in the U.S. My only option was the AT&T version as best buy was allocated only 6 units for the entire state on launch date and they were all AT&T models. Well, I am a T-Mobile user so I got the phone unlocked by a third party. Cost me $55 and had to hook it up to my PC but the phone was unlocked in less than three minutes. Phone is awesome in every aspect and although I still have bloatware and the AT&T logo on startup, the phone is amazing.
Problem: I see articles and postings about updates to the phone. Security patches, firmware updates that happened in October and now November yet my phone get none of them. Did some research and read a lot of back and forth over whether it was Samsung or AT&T or T-Mobile as to who would provide updates. Well, T-mobile doesn't carry the phone, AT&T will not update an unlocked phone of theirs and Samsung smart switch also does not work with AT&T branded, unlocked phones.
So here I sit with August 2019 security software and old firmware. with no way to get these updates. It's been ages since I rooted (or Jailbroke) a phone but it seems like this might be my only option unless you guys can suggest a way for me to get these updates. I would prefer to find a simple easy way to get this done over rooting but I don't even know if there is such a thing.
Any help or insight appreciated, thanks in advance for your time and efforts.

Change the s/w from AT&T ("U") to unlocked ("U1"). There's a thread in this forum with the files you need to download and instructions elsewhere on XDA. I changed my AT&T-branded Fold from U to U1 the day I set it up and have received two updates directly from Samsung. I'm currently on SK1 with the November security update. Leaving the phone running AT&T s/w prevents you from running call and messaging continuity and Hiya for caller ID and spam protection which are both pretty cool.

Ok, I read every page of this very long thread and am more confused than when I looked at the initial page. It has been several years since I have used odin to flash a phone. Would someone be kind enough to put a link to the latest U1 firmware and Odin download so I can get off to the right start?
I have AT&T Fold unlocked on the original firmware as I never received any OTA updates. Can I go straight to the latest one or do I need to do it in steps?
Much appreciated!
Edit: Just realized this was not posted on the long thread I was referring to, but still valid questions. There was another thread that was 14 pages long which I have been posting on as well.
I am having trouble getting the flash to work. Any assistance would be appreciated.
