[Q] Headphone buttons not functioning properly after rooting - Desire HD Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

hi,
before i rooted the play, next track, and previous track worked fine.
now when i press play, it doesnt always respond, and when it does, it either goes to the next track or pauses/plays.
pressing previous track also results in moving to the next track.
so,
FF = next track
Play = next track or play/pause
RW = next track
i did the usual rooting, and i am using the stock ROM
any help? do you know why this is happening?

[Reasonable REQ] Mapping of Hardware buttons

Guys, is it possible to map the hardware buttons of SGS to perform other functions than it was intended to?
Like mapping the long press/double tap of 'home' key button to pause (while music is playing), long press of volume keys for next and previous track?
Cause, one of the main reasons for me going for this phone is its 16gb internal memory which will be suitable for my music play. If only it had hardware buttons, there is no need for me to take the phone everytime i want to change a track or pause the music.
Please tell me if its possible
P.S: Of course, even if this doesn't work, i might still go on for this phone and stick on to sony 4gb walkman for music playback.

Doesn't the headset have these features?
I thought the supplied headphones are of low quality and I must plug-in my Creative EP-630 to get the whooze i'm used to
I absolutely agree with that, i own some high-end headphones and i'd very much like to be able to switch tracks without taking out the phone. Anyway this is possible (with the stock music player and others like bTunes for instant)???

[Q] Supplied Headphones - Track skip?

Hi, i've searching for this for a while, but to no avail.
I love my new Galaxy S2, but there is one issue that bothers me, and that is that I have to take it out of my pocket to skip tracks.
I heard from one person stating you could skip the track by long pressing the button on the supplied head phones, however I cannot get this to work. Does this work for any body else?
If the headphones can't skip track, does anyone know of any that do (volume control is not important)? Or an app/trick to skip track without needing to take the phone out of my pocket? (such as long press volume rocker)
I have an old bluetooth stereo headset, and even this won't allow track skipping, only play/pause, despite working fine with my nexus one. All help would be greatly appreciated.
You skip tracks by double pressing the mic button. It's a pain to get the timing right, but it does work with the stock music player.
You can download PowerAMP Music Player from the android market.
It's a better music player and you can longpress the button to change the track
Trail version is 15 days, you gotta buy the full app after that

So If my headphones can't even play/pause the stock music app , I might have an some other underlying issue?
Strangely I play/pause with the headset if I install Fedes music app alpha v4, and possibly others. Will try uninstalling all music apps again and see if they were interferring somehow.
Confused!
To follow up, the double click to skip works in Fedes Music app (you're right about the timing) but still won't work in either the stock music app or the music hub.
Really fustrating.
The double clicking works on stock but you have to get the timing right, which is near impossible. The whole Samsung s2 stock music app is a load of crap compared to the original S, the sound, the music contol, the whole thing is much worse! I don't know what they have done, but they have definitely gone backwards with the music app!
You can use a remote from an HTC headphone for skipping tracks.

Sorry if I wasn't clear, but the button does not work at all when using the stock app. No play/pause, no track skip, nothing.
All other music apps seem to work as intended. So surely this must be an issue with my stock music app? As if there is a hidden setting I turned off, but can't find to turn back on.

About 2.5 years too late but I think I've nailed it. I can get a consistently successful double click skip by holding the first click a little longer. Using a pair of cheap Sony earphones on the S2.

[app] volume up to skip music

https://market.android.com/details?id=com.seya.plugmusic
I found an app,Plug In Music Widget, which able to do the volume up to skip music, but the bad is, it is very hard to just skip 1 songs, it would skips more then 1 track..........
It works with the android music player.
additional
ok, i just install Headset button controller after the plug in music widget and Now
it does skip 1 music track, but still have some drawback, here's the setting.
Plug In Music Widget:
double click timing 0.3sec
track change using volume key: when screen off
plug out function: none
no auto start
Headset button controller:
target music app: pick you apps, i am using MymusicOn
under
right button action: single click: next track (our volume up is right button action)
the rest of the button, set to disable.
plug in action: disable
plug out action:disable
This will skip 1 songs if you double tap volume up.
The bad: I won't play songs automatically if you plug the headphone. I need to plug the headphone when the screen is off, the it would play and the other bad is
if you plug the headphone at the very beginning when screen is off, it would skip 1 song and play, basically resume last song won't work.
and don't know how to go back previous song yet.
Headset button controller does the same bit is more easily used, and more customizable, I recommend you give it a shot

So this allows you to skip songs with the volume buttons on the phone while screen is off? With stock Samsung player? Sorry I ask so many questions I can't really try it because I'm on the remastered beast mod which has this feature but I'd like to move back to a different rom that doesn't have this feature so this seems perfect.

This is the best I've personally found so far, you might like it: https://market.android.com/details?id=com.purelogicapps.android.tactileplayerfree
One really annoying thing though is you have to double tap volume instead of long press. Seems like most of them are like that. I wish they'd at least make long press an option, grr.

long press skip tracks.

Hi,
Does pa newest build contain a long press to skip track feature does anyone know? I listen to Spotify a lot in the car and it's very useful for me.
Wanted to confirm before I went flashing

Unable to skip to next song in spotify/music player

I am using my iPhone headphones with my oneplus 5T and when I try to skip to the next song on spotify by double tapping the play/pause button on the volume rocker in the cord of the headphones like I have on my iphone and other android devices, it just skips to the next song but does not start playing as says the next song is paused.
Now I have tried the apps from the android app store that add these gestures but same result as above.
Is this due to me using an iPhone headphone on an android device? Something to do with a setting in spotify? I've also read that this is not a feature for oxygenOS? I've also noticed that using the volume up/down does not adjust the volume as well. I know oxygen OS offers gestures to change to the next song but I do not want to do that if my phone is in my pocket.
This is very frustrating when I have my phone in my pocket at the gym and need to skip to the next song. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
