Keyboard with æ,ø,å - Windows Phone 7 Software Development

Hello Guys.
Windows phone 7 dosen't come with Danish language, so that means the keyboard of course doesn't support æ,ø,å, which is used in the Danish language. I wonder if anyone in here has further developed the keyboard, so there is no need for holding O to get Ø?
Some one got a solution, please let me know
Best Regards,
Alexander W.

hey. search for native keyboard...

You can hold "a" to get ae and the other one. Unfortunately I don't know if you can make something a default.

Why not just buy the Danish keyboard app from Windows Phone 7 Marketplace?

Changing the keyboard layout

Hi everyone!
Many people out there from all over the world have upgraded their Artemis to Windows Mobile 6, thanks to people who are working hard on cooking nice ROMs for us. These people are used to a specific keyboard layout, many languages are using special characters too.
It would be nice to have a way to change the keyboard layout : something like easy installing CABs or a how to on what to change in the registry, what to remove on the storage, or whatever way to have our own keyboard on theses WWE ROMs.
Is it possible?

Hi Romano2k,
The only thing that i have found was this regkey:
http://wiki.modaco.com/index.php/Windows_Mobile_5_Registry_Tweaks
But afaik does this regkey only work for the 'hard-keyboard' and not for the software-keyboard, so this answer won't help you a lot...
On my P3300 nothing changed with these keys and nothing happend when i changed the keys in 'HKCU\Keyboard Layout' In another forum i found a thread and they are saying you need a third-party software to change the software-keyboard...but for me it's no problem to use the english keyboard...but french keyboards are much stranger (i think french keyboard are the strangest keyboards that exists) and so i can understand your problem
Cheers
Peter
Love your reply's title
I agree with you, the french keyboard is strange, I wish they were only DVORAK keyboards all over the world! But I need my "é" "à" and so on... I'm sure there's a way to change the software keyboard!

As far as I know it's a dll file that you would have to change. Never tried in WM6 to replace it, in WM 2003 it wasn't possible. Resco Keyboard would be an alternative if you don't want to try to change the layout yourself.
ups...
My french isn't that well....long time ago since school
I found a cab for the german keyboard, maybe you will find out more when you take a look inside this cab ? http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=321236

Heya,

Add dictionary language...

Hi,
I just bought a Desire abroad and I'm a little disapointed that it doesn't have the option to set portuguese input.
I have the phone UI in english (and I want to keep that way) but I would like the keyboard dictionary to be available in portuguese...
Is there any way to just add the option to select portguese keyboard? At the moment, the only options I have are english and french.
Thank you!
just install Jonasl HTC_IME mod, and that should end your troubles

[Q] Changing prediction lang for hardware keyboard

Hi there,
I'm wondering if there's a way to change the prediction language for the hardware keyboard? I have my phone configured with English and French as the 2nd language, and it works great when using the touch keyboard since I can change language at the touch of a button.
But when I use the hardware keyboard, prediction is always in English. Is there a way to switch dictionary language for the hardware keyboard?
Thanks!
I have the same problem. Wonder if this is a bug...
Check out the fix by REDGLASSES in the DEVELOPMENT forum titled [FIX] STOCK KEYPAD UPDATE FOR CYANOGEN, or something like that. I'm sure French is in there,... give it a try.

Mine it's not a keyboard mapping problem but rather a problem with the prediction language.
I have the same problem :
I wanna have a French prediction, but I have just the English one...Unfortunately, my phone is in English/Italian...
Is there any solution now ?

Add dicionaries to the android keyboard?

So am testing a gingerbread rom, and am wondering if its possible to add dictionaries to the android keyboard? My rom is missing the Norwegian dictionary, and am hoping there is a way of maybe manually adding it?
Thanks in advance.
I have the same problem with insert coin Rom v.1.9.1 d2ext, I have Italian language but not Italian keyboard, how can I set it?

Is there anyone that got any tips on how to do this please?
I had the same problem... after days of googling didn't come up with anything Now I just use smart keyboard pro with the appropriate dictionary - you can get it from the market. It's $2,73... but it was worth it for me.

[Q] Hardware keyboard settings

How do I change this from English? It's the default language and there are no other options to choose. I want to use Simplified Chinese with Pinyin input on the keyboard. The soft keyboard works fine, only the hardware keyboard has this problem.
I'd like to know it too. I'm using a DZ with stock rom and spanish hw keyboard, but I have only bthe english layout...

Well, this worked fine in my Windows Mobile phone. I could switch back and forth from English to Chinese on both soft or hard keyboards. But from reading around, I seem to find that the keyboard is locked to one language. What a dumb idea. Yet another stupid problem with my phone that shouldn't be a problem.
I'm using GO keyboard from the android market. You're able to download multiple language packs as well and Pinyin is working fine for me even on the physical keyboard.
Thanks for the advice, it works great. A bit of trouble to get Chinese working correctly, but it's fine now.
Glad to help. =D
Other keyboards that support language change via hardware keyboard are Smart Keyboard Pro and AnySoftKeyboard.
