Hi,
I have a problem that when i shutdown my device ( i choose to power off ). after it shuts down it automatically goes into clockworkmod recovery (v3.0.0.6).
When i then choose power off, the device starts up again after about 15 seconds, back into recovery mode.
The device is plugged into the loader.
If i choose reboot system android loads. running latest leedroid 2.2.2
is there away to turn my device off ?
thanks,
regards, mark
It is a "feature" of clockworkmod. There is nothing you can do about it. Unplug your charger and the phone will stay off.
Thanks,
I think i did something stupid though..
i chose boot into recovery, and now my device won't boot anymore, is stuck at a nice white screen with HTC logo.
Do i have to reflash ?

Did you try a battery pull ? , take your battery out put in back in and turn the phone on .
unfortunately that didn't work.
What did work was, pull battery, startup with volume down
then do factory reset... this got me back into CWMod
Then did a restore, and my phone is booting again...
I do wonder though how i got myself into this predicament :S

Basically, I just installed a ROM. Then at the reboot process it kept cycling the boot. And now it wont boot. Anyone know what I can do?
Thanks alot, Appreciate the help and time
Basically, I chose the wrong ROM to install and ended up installing the wrong thing. The thing that was installed was a theme. So I presume there is no ROM on the phone. Anychance I can do it without using the GUI?
What is happening now?
My DHD is just cycling boot. HTC screen, then Black screen and then Off. And all over again. Won't stop. I entered recovery mode but I get a message saying Image error. I try everything and it ends up going back to the boot cycle. I just got my phone back from warrenty. I really cant do with the hassle of sending it back
Please help
Did you pull the battery and try to hold vol- + power to get into recovery?
You do have root?
If so, and if you are able to get into recovery, download ruu of custom rom and flash that...see if that works..

Boot into fastboot,To enter fastboot either >adb fastboot or remove battery, replace battery and turn on whilst holding volume down
Flash clockwork recovery, Fastboot flash_image recovery recovery.img
reboot into recovery, power on with volume up and flash the rom of your choice
So I recently flashed my phone to the newest MIUI. I decided to delete CWM for some stupid reason and now my phone won't boot up.
I figured I can just flash my old 2.2 SBF back in and redo everything. Well, it goes into infinite boot loop.
So now...
Battery won't charge (doesn't recognize the battery when plugged to charger)
Tried all different kinds of SBF and all of them end in infinite boot loop
Only thing my phone can do is bootloader. Recovery mode doesn't work either.
Any ideas?
what happens when you try to enter recovery?(power button + volume down)
if it shows android with exclamation mark then press vol up+vol down at the same time..then wipe everything and reboot.
Battery was too low (0%), won't boot into recovery.
I did the Mcgyver trick and got it going.
System wipe + 2.3.3 flash booted it back up. It can charge again now. Right now trying to get rooted and get MIUI running again.
This time I'm not touching the 2ndinitdefy.
Everything was running so well and I had to go and screw it all up.
it happens....
everyone learns from their experience
All the best
Hi,
I've attempted the JB update
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1737899..
fastboot flash boot boot.img etc.. which said all was well..
But now find that my phone will not boot up, doesn't get past the Google and unlock screen.
I've tried all combinations of volume buttons, I can get to the fasboot menu where I can choose either Recovery Mode, Power Off, Start or Restart bootloader.
None of these appear to do anything, recovery goes to the google a screen followed by an Android on it's back with an exclamation mark over it.. then goes to the Google and unlocked icon screen and stays there...
I fear my phone is bricked... Please help..

1.) Your phone is far from bricked at all. You have access to the boot loader (i.e. the screen with the options). The recovery you're seeing is stock recovery. All you need to do is go into boot loader and fastboot flash recovername (CWM) and you will have your custom recovery back to wipe data and reinstall a rom or restore a nandroid backup
Mine is doing the same thing, weird thing is, it was working since yesterday on jellybean, it just randomly froze this morning and and now won't boot..
im currently at work so i don't have admin rights to do a fastboot flash..
any idea why it would randomly stop working when i havn't flashed anything on it besides the jb rom?
Sorted..
Thanks for the comments.. yeah i was over-reacting a bit there..
I downloaded the Galaxy Nexus Toolkit, got a stock rom form gopogle, flashed it.. back to normal, well, it will be after i restore the CWM backup i took.. phew..
Thanks again
Ian.
Still stuck
I'm also stuck in the same situation(google with the unlock screen). I fear I'm a little more stuck. I also can see the recovery/restartbootloader screen. However, everything I try still comes back to that same google screen and gets hung up. Need some help!
this has happened twice today and i think it from using volume+

Boot into recovery, wipe cache, Reboot
Hello,
I got a 'little' problem, I think that my HTC Desire HD is bricked.
And I dont know how, because when I woke up this morning, I tryed to boot my Phone and it just didn't.
I've noticed that my orange led was blinking, so I removed and reinsert the battery, so i could start up my phone again. That worked fine,
but when it reached the white screen with the green HTC logo, it's just got stucked in there and it won't do anything anymore.
So I rebooted into the recovery screen (with On/off button + volume down) and choose for Recovery, but that didn't worked because then I got stucked in a black screen.
The last thing that I tryed is to use fastboot, but if I choose for bootloader it kicks me back in the recovery menu.
I have installed HTC Sync for the drivers, but still don't know what to do further.,.
(When my SD card is needed, I could put it in another phone to change or place files on it.)
I already appreciate your time for this and I hope there's someone with a solution for me.
Best regards,
Donny
So earlier today I plugged in my charger into the phone, and it gave me an error messaging saying something about the cable being damaged, and System UI crashed. I unplugged it and made a mental note to buy another charger.
The device was having some issues with SystemUI properly rebooting, so I restarted the phone and got caught into a boot loop.
The device will not go past the HTC splash screen, just rebooting every few seconds.
It doesn't reboot when I go into the white screen bootloader, nor does ADB or fastboot oem detect it.
If I select download or recovery mode, one of two things happens:
1) It displays the monochromatic HTC logo for a few seconds and then reboots back into the normal bootloop.
2) It stays in the monochromatic HTC logo without doing anything else.
ADB does not work in any state, nor does trying to flash an RUU.
I've tried sticking an RUU with an SD Card and going into download mode, but nothing happens.
The device was running Leedroid at the time.
The bootloader is unlocked, and it is S-ON. It is a T-Mobile device with the Marshmallow Firmware installed.
I would very much appreciate help for this as I've been searching for solutions the entire afternoon.
I don't quite understand how a faulty cable would cause a bootloop but not completely fry the device.
Thanks.

So you can't even get to download mode by holding power+vol down for several seconds?

No, it just brings up the same issue of it getting stuck on the monochrome HTC logo.
no idea as i've never had this happen, but when i've had issues in the past i'd let the battery drain completely, then charge it a little, then try booting to download mode. maybe you could try that? did you have twrp or any custom recovery installed?

I've tried that, and I have the latest TWRP.
