[Q] Help Reboot loop [LeeDrOiD HD v.2.2.2] - Desire HD Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I am experiencing reboot loops with LeeDrOiD HD v2.2.2.
Background:
DHD unlocked, ungraded over the air to Froyo 2.2.1, sometime after noticed GPS was not working properly anymore (Perhaps it never did)
Downgraded to previous Froyo 2.2, noticed GPS still didn't work (Tested with GPStatus)
Following tutorials on this site perm rooted and applied S-OFF, ENG-S-OFF Clean wiped phone and installed LeeDrOiD HD v2.2.2.
After first few reboots: Flashed radio to the one recommended in LeeDrOiD HD main thread here Flashed kernel as per the same thread. Manually reinstalled apps etc. Tested phone that no reboot loop present.
Problem:
After some time (I think it may have been after configuring WIFI)
Phone restart hangs at HTC white screen.
Have to clean wipe and reflash rom to recover.
I have tried flashing and configuring rom numerous times and always the same result. (Phone is fine for some time and then inexplicitly will get stuck in a reboot loop on restart)
Anyone know if this a known issue or encountered similar? I have tried seaching here and on the LeeDroid mini site and haven't found anything.

Is it always just after you set up wifi?
There is a similar issue with CM7RC4 on some Radio's.
The solution if same problem is quite simple, let it get boot up then before it has chance to, power it off manually the power on again.
IF it's the same issue.
Failing that, remove SD card and try again.

There has been some bootloop issues when the usb debugging has been turned off. You didn't happen to do that?

Flash the latest kernel 2.2.9. You'll find it on the first page down a little.
Lee has enabled usb debugging in this, his latest kernel.
Place it on the sdcard and flash through cwm recovery same as ROM.
If you wish, flash the i/o performance patch directly after, then reboot. Let the kernel bed in and reboot.

untick fastboot... see if that helps.. some time back i was experiencing loops... and xda member told me to untick it which i did and didnt experience the loops again..

Its just a bad flash.
Try reflash again. Do a full wipe first.

Thanks for all the tips,
Believe it or not I couldn't find my own thread on here I thought logging in would let you see your posts or similar.
It could well be the usb debug being disabled as I definately remember doing that at least once. Is it a requirement to leave usb debug enabled whilst on kernel 2.2.9? I also experienced the boot loops whilst on the stock kernel.
I think I'll try a full wipe then reflash the rom, leaving usb debug enabled.

You need it on with Lee's ROM. Just flash the kernel 2.2.9 via cwm recovery same as you would the ROM, and all will be fine.
If you dont have it on sdcard yet, download to pc, in cwm recovery, "mount usb", will connect sdcard to pc same as disc drive mode. Unmount from pc & flash away. If you want to use the i/o performance patch, flash directly after, ...then reboot.

Lee's latest ROM and integrated kernel is out. Flash that instead, then any patches. Reboot system from cwm. Full reboot at least once before applying themes etc.

Ridiculous Boot Loop - Two bricked DINCs

Both experiencing the same problem,
One UD 8.0 got stuck in loop after I tried installing Koush Kernel
2nD one is running CM6.0.1, was fine until I tried using to read Phone #1s MicroSD to figure out what was wrong.
2nd phone (CM6) then restarted randomly while plugged into PC, which started the bootloop.
Tried everything, nandroid (Couldn't mount /Data), I wiped, factory reset, tried reflashing update.zip for CM6 phone.
Both phones are completely useless, not sure what to do at this point and CM6's owner was leaving town.
Any ideas? Ultimate way to unbrick a DINC? If you know of anything, please help.
A boot loop is not a brick. I would nandroid back to stock(you did this right?) or use an RUU.

Does this mean you can get into hboot?
If yes, you should be able to ruu an official release..

I do not have a great deal of experience, but since you can get in recovery, place King Kernel #3 on your SD card, boot into recovery and apply the KingKernals #3 zip file from your SD card for the 1st phone. See if that fixes it. Just sounds like incompatibility with the kernel if it happened right after you flashed it.

UD is an AOSP Rom, King's kernel does not support it at this time.
I would try a fresh install of the 8-26 leak. Do wipe first, then do dalvik wipe under advanced settings. Get deodexed version of rom Here
If that does not work let's get some information
Did you run unrevoked forever and get S-off status?
What radio version are you using?
You should not be borked if you are getting into recovery you should be fine.
@ToyTank
BOTH phones are - 2.05.00.6.11 S-ON, Neither are unrevoked forever.
Problem with phone 1 (UD) is that the SD card is completely messed up now. It's an 8GB that has nothing on it, the compuiter is reading it at 758MB. Any function of Recovery leads to errors mounting, so flashing stuff isn't working, nandroid as well.
Phone 2 (CM6) let's me flash stuff onto it, "Install from sdcard complete." but will continue into a bootloop when I restart the phone.
I attempted RUU last night and maybe I'm doing it wrong but the software is giving me an error connecting to USB. How should I go about installing the 8-26 leak? Just wipe > throw in PB31IMG and install?
I assume I don't need unrevoked forever for this, I tried 8-26 and flashed PB31IMG.zip, Device 2 Starts dancing until it says "Main Version is older! Update Fail". Anybody know a workaround?
Try formating the sd card to FAT32 using a computer. That might help with phone #1. Error with usb can be solved using these steps.
1. Try the RUU executable. it will give you that usb error, taking you to the black htc screen.
2. Exit the ruu program (leaving phone in that state) and run it again. This worked for me when I RUU'd mine.
Who knows though. It may have been a one shot deal.
sounds like you are trying a bunch of stuff without READING about what you are doing. you flashed kernels with a rom that CLEARLY states that they will not work and then you tried to flash unsigned roms through hboot which will not work without s-off and then you try to downgrade when you have the ota leak (radio 2.05) which will not work.
you either need to get the ruu working, get s-off applied or follow the steps to go back to stock hboot.
time for you to start doing your homework to get yourself out of this mess.
Neither are bricked. Ruu back to stock.
yeah bro not good practice
@Fretless, @Lafester, @GermanBrat. Thanks for the comments - going to try RUU 3.21.605 and report back.
Hey guys RUU worked for Phone 2 (CM6) but is not playing nice with Phone 1. USB connection error. I appreciate the help so far, any more ideas for this phone?
It's basically stuck in white htc inc screen and will go no further. It's completely wiped and nothing will mount in recovery. RUU can't detect a usb connection but the PC beeps when I connect via usb

[Q] Flash new ROM after boot or recovery no longer works

I recently installed Leedroid 2.2d with A2sd on my HTC desire (unbranded) and it no longer boots (it doesn't make it past the HTC logo). It did this with the previous version but if I removed the battery and left it for a while it would eventually turn on again. Before this happened it started randomly restarting and I think that might be the problem.
Possibly useful information:
I can boot into the fastboot menu but it won't go further than the HTC Logo from there.
I can plug it into my PC and it will display "HBoot USB Plug"
Booting into recovery also only shows HTC Logo, it goes no further.
I have HBoot 0.92.0001 and the radio is 5.10.05.23.
I am trying to work out how I can re-flash in the hopes it will sort this out possibly with the RUU program and connecting from windows.
It has been a few days now and I can't get my phone working and I'm starting to get a little desperate, any help is appreciated as I'm a little overwhelmed by the amount of information available and the endless options.
I have downloaded the RUU from forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=695667 (RUU_Bravo_HTC_WWE_1.21.405.2_Radio_32.36.00.28U_4. 06.00.02_2_release_126984_signed.exe) and run it.
It starts working and then stops with the message "Error[140]: Bootloader version error". How do I get the correct RUU for my bootloader (HBoot 0.92.0001)?
I have also tried Froyo downgrade (forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=768256) but it just returned a whole lot "Error: Device not found" messages.
Tried flashing RUU_Bravo_Froyo_HTC_WWE_2.09.405.8_Radio_32.43.00.32U_5.09.00.20_release_140022_signed and received an error about a file not being able to be opened for writing.
Just ran RUU_Bravo_Froyo_HTC_WWE_2.10.405.2_R_Radio_32.44.00.32U_5.09.05.30_2_release_142828_signed.exe and it completed successfully but it still doesn't go past the screen with the white background and the green HTC logo.
RUU_Bravo_Froyo_HTC_WWE_2.10.405.2_R_Radio_32.44.0 0.32U_5.09.05.30_2_release_142828_signed.exe didn't work originally but I charged until it was fully charged and then tried booting it again and it worked.
I had taken my sim and sd card out so I switched it off and put those back in and again it booted up fine. I was then switching Wi-fi on and it suddenly restarted and now it refuses to boot again.
Any ideas?
I can now consistently get it to boot by doing the following:
1. Remove battery
2. Put battery back
3. Charge until full and then leave plugged in for about 15 minutes.
4. Switch phone on.
Unfortunately it is still randomly re-booting while using the phone, could be it be a bad partition on the sd card?

try flashing the bootfix on the first post of LeeDroid thread
EDIT: here it is http://db.tt/QLu5cPL
Thanks for replying. How do I flash the bootfix?
Also, I don't have Leedroid anymore and I am back on stock Froyo ROM.
you flash it the same way you flash leedroid. through recovery.
have you rooted after you flashed the RUU? if you have, flash LeeDroid, flash bootfix and then reboot.

I used ROM manager to flash leedroid so I'll try a that again. I'll have to try it later as luck would have it, I can no longer boot using the fully charged battery method

have you rooted? you can do it manually via recovery. hold down volume button while turning the phone on, then choose recovery. you can choose zip file to install.
i've never flashed anything using ROM manager so i don't know how it works. does it reboot automatically after flashing something? if that's the case, then you might need to do it via recovery. because you need to flash the fix before rebooting.
More frustration. If I take the sd card out it will boot up so that I can see the home screen but then it just reboots again, and again, and again at the same point.
When I put the sd card back again it gets to the HTC logo and stops again.
This is really starting to annoy me

I have yet to get recovery to actually run, always stalls on the HTC logo. I also can't get the phone to start with the SD card in so I can't load files onto it.
One thing I've noticed (unless I've missed something) is you've not tried another SD card. I'd give this a go as it may be corrupt

I don't have a spare one but I might be able to get a mini sd card reader and then format it via windows. Would that work as well?

i'd try that if i were you. this goes without saying but make sure you back up first.
I actually don't think any of the above made any difference...
I just put back my SD card and the phone is working perfectly again. The only thing I can think of is that during the day it is too hot and it is cooler now (at night). This seems to be backed up by this thread - forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=676402
has been running since yesterday evening without a problem. Weird...

HELP PLEASE - EVO 3D Stuck in Bootloop!

Hello All,
I recently rooted my EVO3D using the HTCDEV method because the bootloader was version 1.5.
Here are the steps I followed to root (sorry for the copy and past but I want to be as detailed as possible)
Files Used
su 2.3.6.3
TWRP Recovery
Steps Taken:
1)Take both the su.zip and recovery.img files and put them in your sdk tools folder.
2)Now do the following in ur command prompt, hitting enter after each command.
3)Code:adb push recovery.img /sdcard/And,
4)Code:adb push su-2.3.6.3.zip /sdcard/Then,
5)Code:adb reboot bootloaderUr phone will go to fastboot and should look like the after picture above. Now you can flash the twrp recovery, so do,
6)Code:fastboot flash recovery recovery.imgIt will ouput something like this,
7)Code:sending 'recovery' <5068 KB>... OKAY////writing 'recovery'... OKAY///finished. total time: 11.355sNow you have twrp recovery, so you can navigate to it. On ur phone, use the power button to pick bootloader, then scroll down to recovery and pick that. You will then be booted into recovery.
8)Here you can pick "install zip" and then pick the "su-2.3.6.3.zip"
It will flash, the you can pick "back to main menu", then "reboot system now"
9)You will boot back up and have working Superuser. I have had no trouble with Titanium Backup, Root Explorer, Quick Boot or any other app that requires root. Before you do too much, it would be good to go back to recovery and do a Nandroid backup. Always best to get one ready before you start modding anything.
All of this worked fine, and the phone was "unlocked."
Then, I flashed the most recent version of CleanRom (2.7)
Again, the phone worked fine, battery life was a little crappy.
I decided to flash Ziggy's kernel.I flashed the kernel simply by putting on the SD card, and then rebooting into recovery. This worked fine as well, but I noticed some of the buttons for example the menu popups displayed volume where it should have said more, or bluetooth options where it should have said preferences. so this is where the trouble started, I downloaded kernel manager, and flashed silverneedle through that program. Now, I am stuck at the White HTC Splash screen bootloop. The phone turns on and after 15 seconds reboots, and reboots, and reboots.
What Ive attempted:
I have done countless wipes and clears of the dalvik cache and cache
ive formatted the system and the date sections (advanced menu in twrp)
ive reflashed the rom after wiping countless times
ive tried flashing different kernels in recovery to no avail
factory reset and wipe havent helped
im not concerned losing the contents of the SD card
I need help because I already had two phone claims in the past 11 months, and if I claim another lost phone I will lose insurance for life with Asurion (sprint)
anytips or help would be greatly appreciated
i can provide any additional info
Similar situation, Not sure if you've already solved the problem but I'm going to copy paste my solution from another thread...
Hi, I'm not sure if this is the right place to ask but this is a preety derp question. I've gone across the internet and tried a lot of reflashing to repair my sort of "bricked" evo. What happened, was that I had a evo 3d s-on htc bootloader unlocked, with custom recovery -clockwork..anyways I had flashed the leedroid 3d 4.0 rom and It worked the only problem was my wifi, so i attempted to flash another kernel onto it, but I had accidently flashed "Rcmix" kernel which I later found out was cdma =.=. so now my phone keeps rebooting at the htc screen, it would just load up with the green htc letters, then after 10 seconds or so it'd reboot, and then begin the process again. I can boot into bootloader and recovery but whatever I flash doesn't seem to work including restoring my backups...and then the battery died so i couldn't even charge it or go in. But i managed to work out I could load into bootloader from the CMD and the furthest i've gotten to is to have the bootloader show FASTBOOT USB. SO I must be getting somewhere...? I did read that i had to load from the cmd and not just from power+vol down..but I'd appreciate any help towards restoring my phone to the way it is or at least before i flashed the rcmix.
Just a note tho I've tried factory resetting but all i get is that it loads into recovery at the bootloader options i dont get "clear storage" as an option and "restore to factory settings" and what not just boots me into recovery agian.
EDIT:
I Managed to fix the phoneeee!!!..just for future preferences and anyone else who has this problem...
I followed bits and piece of IL DUCE's advice to izzy spun, the important part was booting the recovery from cmd. I wasn't able to "erase recovery" But I tried just booting it,
First I would remove the battery,
Put it back in,
Plug the usb cable in
1. Type command, from your Adb/fasboot folder, "adb reboot-bootloader"
2. After that I made sure my bootloader said "Fastboot USB", and then I issued the command, "fastboot boot cwm-4.0.1.4-shooteru.img" or with whatever recovery you had..
3. From there I restored from my backups my original rom. Rebooting, and fixed.
--- and It worked. At the time I was on clock work recovery, i only had the Revolutionary recovery img. Cwm-4.0.14.-shooteru.img to be exact,
after going in there I just cleared the cache and davlik and then, proceeded to restore my backups (I'm not sure if it would've worked if I had re-flashed the leedroid or a custom rom)
and then I simply rebooted the phone, and it got back into my phones original state before leedroid (as I had Only backedup before then)....
Apologies for the lengthly post, but I guess reading does help, but I've been going nuts before I managed to fix this. Just thought I'd leave this post incase someone were to need this.
Same problem
Hi there. I just recently joined so excuse my noobness but i have a similar problem. I recently just rooted my evo 3d sprint with the the boot 1.5 and everything went well. I decided i wanted to overclock my phone so i followed zeemaxs way. Before going into the overclock procedure i decided to do the the RCMIX Evo 3d kernel v. 2.2.3 first so i would have better results when done with the overclock procedure.I bootup the kernel through the recovery mode on the phone butit failed to load so i just reeboted. After that my wifi and 4g stopped working. So i downloaded an app on the market called "flash image GUI" which lets me flash the kernels through the app. I flashed the RCMIX kernel and rebooted and now im stuck ima boot loop. I COULD just go back and back up to my old rom and settings etc...........but the problem is i dintmake any kind of back up or recovery i think. I know i know im stupid and an idiot but i just sort of panicked n ended up with this. If anyone can help please tell me.I do not want to pay for a new phone at full price. PLEASE HELP THIS POOR NOOB!!!!! X(

What your going to have to do is flash the original kernel you started with. thats why your in a bootloop
Similar problem
Hi everyone!
I have a kind of similar problem, so I won't post it in a new thread.
Yesterday I rooted my phone following this guide: androidforums.com/evo-3d-all-things-root/494212-complete-newbies-guide-rooting-flashing-evo-3d-roms-kernels-using-fastboot . html (i am not allowed to post links to prevent spam).
I unlocked it with htcdev and installed a custom ROM without getting any errors. After restarting the phone, it got into a boot loop; it showed the starting animations of htc and the ROM and then shut down again.
Here some more information:
-Evo 3d Europe gsm
-hboot 1.5
-s-on
-image version 3.28.401
-installed ROMs using clockworkrecoverymod (as proposed in guide)
I have tried these ROMs (all leading to boot loop):
ICS NonSense
Cyanogen Mod 10 – DisarmedToaster (v. 1.4 and 1.5)
Jelly Bean 3d (by Ubuntuz)
SAD 2.1 DEsenseX
I installed the ROMs by doing:
Connect device via usb > flash boot.img via fastboot (from pc) > clear Cashe/UserData/DalvikVM > install rom.zip from sdcard > reboot
I really don't know what to try
Any ideas how I could install a running Android OS are highly appreciated.
Thx for any help
Problem solved!
Ok, I solved the problem by simply relocking the phone and installing the stock ROM with the RUU.exe
RUU.exe
I'm glad someone else mentioned Relocking before running the RUU. I've read several posts be others that have actually stated that Relocking wasn't necessary but in order for the RUU to take you have to Relock. IF you get a chance check out CoolICS Rom and MeanRom both are pretty good.
Thanks all for the help, had to revisit this issue today.

[Q] One V problems!

So after rooting my girlfriends HTC One V and testing a few roms, we seem to keep running into problems. At the minute i have put Sphongle on it, think its the latest version, but its lagging, having problems displaying the notification bar, random crashes on a daily basis and so on.
So i want to go back to the original stock software, it was on 02 UK and i looked up the CID as some guides said and somehow got pointed toward an RUU for Europe and was told its the correct RUU. So i did the guide, found the ROM file in the temp folders, attempted to run it from the PC via the installer and it worked fine until it rebooted the phone, for some reason the wizard couldnt find the phone after the reboot. So i then followed another guide and renamed the ROM file to the specific phone file needed, PK76IMG i believe, and did it through the HBOOT part. At first the rom wouldnt work, it would read the file and the activity bar would show it was loading something, but after a short while it would say wrong zip file and sit in hboot. So i found another version of the RUU Rom and tried that, it read the file in hboot, then said checking file, then parsing and then nothing, it sat back in hboot and didnt update.
So im kinda at a loss now, i need to get this back on a stable original rom but cannot seem to find a way without running into problems!
Any ideas????
Cheers
I am running SPHONGLE on mine as of now.
Try following these instructions carefully and see if they help, I hope I may be of assistance as I ran into problems myself whilst flashing last night.
First of all, boot into fastboot by turning the phone off and holding the VOLUME DOWN button when it is turning on, once into fastboot attach your HTC to laptop/PC and it should say fastboot usb on your HTC screen. (Make sure all your adb drivers and SDK platform are installed on your PC...)
Secondly, take THIS kernel (Hellboy's latest kernel) and flash it through fastboot flash boot cmd.
Once that is done, select bootloader from your HTC and boot into recovery (hoping you have custom CWM/TWRP recovery...? if not install before you do this...) perform a full wipe of everything /cache /system .. dalvik cache etc. then find the ZIP file for SHPONGLE and flash the ROM, then flash the GApps file included in the SHPONGLE OP.
Word of warning DO NOT use the hellboy kernel included in the SHPONGLE OP use the one I have linked you too.
After you've done that select reboot and let the ROM boot and settle for 5 or so minutes. Hopefully everything should be okay... let me know. :victory:

LG G3 Stuck In Bootloop

Hi XDA, many threads here have helped me in the past so time to ask another (probably stupid) question. It's a bit of a long story so I apologise in advance.
I've been running CM (one of the nightly builds from about 3 weeks back, don't have the file so I can't say which) on my phone for a while with no issues until a couple of nights ago when it was overheating (charging while playing a game, stupid I know) so I decided to turn it off so it could cool down without taking it off charge.
The following morning I turn it back on to find that it's getting to the blue android head logo of CM and getting stuck there. First thing I do is reboot into TWRP and flash my backup from right after I installed CM. Reboot and... same result. Okay, no biggie right? Time to reinstall CM (the latest nightly build from yesterday) and Google Apps (nano package) via TWRP and reboot again. Still stuck at the blue android head logo. The reinstall was handled after using the Wipe-Factory Reset function of TWRP, as the guide here explains.
At this point I decide to do a bit of research and learn that it's called a softbrick or bootloop and apparently flashing the stock rom can fix it. The LG software suite won't even recognise the device but a friend of mine found this guide so I attempted to run through it. All goes well until it comes time for the software to connect to the phone - I pop it in download mode while putting the USB cable in, the program says waiting for connection, runs for 14 seconds and says it's trying to put the phone into download mode, at this point it fails saying the phone can't be put into download mode.
Some of the comments beneath the article offer fixes like using USB 2.0 instead of 3.0, putting the program into compatability mode for Win7 and running in administrator mode. To be thorough I tried every USB port on my machine (both 2.0 and 3.0) and run the program in compatability mode (with and without admin mode) for several versions of windows. Same result every time.
Another friend then suggests that somehow permissions got borked and it might be worth reflashing SuperSU to the system but at this point I'm at a loss for how to do that. I have the one click root script that I got from god knows where (not this one because that didn't work for me) that has a SuperSU zip in it, presumably it flashes that to the phone when it runs (found this out the hard way because I've been a moron in the past and tried installing SuperSU through TWRP and broke the boot previously, fixed by re-running the one click root script - this was ages ago before even installing CM.)
So right now I can put the phone into download mode manually, get into TWRP and use all its functions as well as connect to my PC and use ADB functions while the phone's in TWRP but can't boot into CM or flash a stock rom. Any help would be appreciated, I've spent a whole day reading guides, asking friends and clumsily trying to fix this only to get nowhere.
Have u tried installing the stock via TWRP? Via zip ... Wipe cache delvik also..

I haven't tried that, I didn't even know it was possible. Could you give me some more detailed pointers on how to do this? I noticed that the stock ROM I have cames as a .TOT file but CM is several files and folders in the zip. Will it install fine from that zipped up TOT file?
Thank you so much for your time.
When the rom is uploaded by the dev its also uploaded in .zip file place it ur system rom just go into twrp recovery flash the the zip file before flashing wipe cache n delvik too its easy as 1,2,3 search here on xda for ur compatible model
