CDC Abstract Control Model
Maybe this will help you...
This Drivers are for Windows XP, tested and working - you can mount SDCard

This Drivers are for Windows XP, tested and working - you can mount SDCard
is it working on win 7?
Haven't tried it, but it should work... the only thing that may not work is that the drivers are not signed....
Worst case... driver will fail to install due to signing issues...
Please try and update us if they work...
the same after using it
i got htc dream in device manager but i want to share data and internet between diamond and pc is it possible?
its working on xp..
This is for USB Mass storage, you need the modem part of the driver which i don't know anything about.
The drivers are modified from an HTC Dream android driver...
I don't think i can help you with this part yet... i will try and search the net and if we are lucky maybe we can get it working.
Thanks you!!!

I actually found this trying to get a driver for the USB tethering/modem/RNDIS part.
hyc has fixed USB tethering, but of course WinXP doesn't have the right driver - or the phone isn't presenting itself correctly...
This Google page seems to think with a simple INF file it's fixed (NOTE - if you're on SP3!) but this seems to work for native devices only...

can some help with installing htc evo diag drivers on windows 7 64 bit
please im going nuts lmao
Read the rooting instructions.
1) Install the Android SDK. There's drivers in the sdk/usbdrivers folder.
2) Install HTC Sync. It'll automatically install any other drivers you need.
Really, is it that hard to read?

You have to put the phone in diag mode (##diag#) and then use control panel to hand pick the drivers for it, for some reason it doesn't recognize them
Ok, I have the evo in ##3424# and on a 32-bit Win7 it works fine. When I try to install the drivers on a Win 64-bit machine it doesn't find any suitable driver.
Does anybody have the 64-bit DIAG drivers for Evo that work?

Once you download the drivers create a new folder and rename it. Then extract the files from the zip to the folder you created then go to your managed devices and manually update hope this works for you

running motorolla defy with cyanogen mod 7
any idea how to get around the problem
I think you should go to Hardware Devices & manually select driver for your phone,
as it is showing MTP, you should manually select USB Transfer Device Or similar driver.
Best of luck
I have the same issue with my Defy on cyanogenMod 7
I have this problem after upgrade my windows 7 from 32bit to hp 64 version.

I am using win7 standard driver. Try to install Motorola Media Link if your windows doesn't have it. Click Update driver in Device Manager, and use advance, in pick driver, there're 2 compatible drivers, you can select it from there.
I tried that, but non of the drivers work. Thanks anyway.
Assuming you're using Windows 7,
-Right click on your [My Computer]
-Click [Device Manager]
-Check for MTP Devices, open it & Click on Update Software Driver
-Browse my computer for Driver Software, then Let me pick from List of drivers
-Choose USB & then Generic USB driver
It's gonna work perfectly fine then hopefully
Thanks but no go I guess it's a Win7 X64 problem. It doesn’t matter if it works or not. I never use the portal USB state anyway.
I'm just "anal" about stuff not working on my PC Usually I’m the guy who friends ask about Win problems . I guess it's time to step down from the throne. I didn’t think it would happened in my lifetime :=)
Works fine on w7 x64 enterprise.
Thx.

have tried it all,
no help, doesn't show my device as MTP device, even my nokia phone is recognized as MTP, but not defy with CM7
This could help you. For me it worked.
I have 'SuperOneClickv1.9.5-ShortFuse.Drivers.rar' on my computer. I've extracted the Motorola folder with drivers. Went to Device Manager, right click on MTP device and update driver - select manualy - browse to the previously extracted Motorola folder with drivers - select update. After few seconds the drivers were installed.
Here is the (dropbox) download link for RAR archive of the Motorola drivers (size 1.32 mb).

did that, now I can see that the MTP device shows no problems but when I connect my defy it doesn.t show up on windows as a MTP,
under devices and printers thought it shows all the motorola drivers installed fine
i bought my xperia play 4 days ago and i cant seem to get the usb debigging to work. MTP and MSC work fine, but when i enable usb debugging, all it shows is SEMC HSUSB driver and both MTP and MSC do not work. i have tried instaling the gordon gate drivers, reinstalling pc companion. i'm trying to root my phone (2.3.4) without unlocking the bootloader but i cant do that until i have usb debugging working.
I have found that some PC's just don't like doing it... Do you have another machine that you can test on?
I know on my PC it just won't pick it up correctly, even after reinstalling the drivers (and at one stage Windows and testing on a virtual linux box) and it just fails. I have to use my partners laptop.
thank you for your reply may i know wad os your machine was using? mine is windows 7.
Windows 7 also, but then so is the laptop that I am running on. Not sure what was the problem and just got sick of trying to fix it to be honest

ohh welll.... i just deleted the android sdk manager. i'll try to redownload and reinstall it and the pc companion. if that fails, i'm going to try using virtual box with windows xp. i've been trying for a few days now, hope i can root it successfully without resorting to unlocking the bootloader.
Might be better off setting up a dual boot with XP. Otherwise you can run into problems with sharing the USB slots between the host and virtual machine.
if only i could do that..... btw, do you have any idea how to install the drivers? its a 6mb file from developers world, and i cant seem to find a way to install it.. http://developer.sonyericsson.com/wportal/devworld/search-downloads/driver?cc=gb&lc=en
Yep, just extract the files and then when you plug the device in and it's looking for drivers, point it towards the folder that you just extracted. Should do it automatically after that.
If it doesn't look for drivers any more, which can happen if you have connected it in the past, you can open your computer manager (Start -> run -> Compmgmt.msc) then select device manager. Find the device in the list and right click and update drivers. Finally, just select the path to search to be that of the folder that you extracted.
i have tried what you said, but it says it cannot find the driver software for this device. this is with usb debugging enabled. when usb debugging is enabled, both mtp and msc do not work.. the only indication of the device on my com is from device manager.
Which OS do you have ?
64 Bit, or 32 Bit(x86) ?

Hi all,
I will be very thankful if you could help me with this one.
I am using Windows XP64 OS and I love it !
Recently I have bought One X (which I love as well), but as you might guess, the problem is I could not find drivers for it.
I have downloaded HTC Sync with hope that it will install the necessary drivers, and actually it did work on Windows XP (32bit),
but the installation failed on XP64.
Without the drivers, 'adb' does not recognize my phone and I can not continue developing on it (only on the simulator)...
Any suggestions ?
Thanks in advance,
Almoni
I'm in the same boat, Can't find drivers guess it's time to update windows
The biggest problem with WinXP 64 are the drivers. I doubt there are any.
Some people say this driver works for XP64.
No promise it will work but it is worth trying
I tried that one with no luck on my system. Windows does recognize my phone but not properly like xp 32 bit does at work.

How many driver are there?
Are there any more aside from this?

Here is the link to the Driver package for i747 and i747m (AT&T/Bell/Rogers/Telus) With this, you don't need Keis...unless you want to use Keis. Also, TRY a WINDOWS UPDATE after installing this driver package.
I found their to be side issues on my Win7 and XP pc's....too long a story. If you have issues, I will send you a link.

Thanks mad producer. Is this driver package all the drivers I'll need?
I noticed these drivers are from the samsung site.
Are there any custom drivers or drivers for rooted phone, on custom roms etc?
Are there different kinds/type, I recall reading about ADB drivers or ADB connections.
Can you also send me the link to the issues with the drivers?
Thanks a bunch!

If/when you need ADB (I don't use it) then just look around for ADB. I don't have a link for that.
When I first connected my S3 to my Win7, XP, 2nd XP machine, each one had an issue with the MTP protocol. This is what's used to transfer files to and from phone internal and external storage. I did my homework and massive experimenting and solved the issues. (pretty pathetic really) I just don't have a turn key absolute solution but here are some tips. Try one or all of these till it works...and it WILL!
(Backup your PC before attempting and use at your own risk)
XP
- plug your Ss in via usb
- install the samsung drivers
- after any/each of these steps, unplug/replug usb S3 to PC
- check Device Manager in XP for any Yellow exclamation marks. If there are none, then go see if you can transfer large files (eg mp3) to your S3 and back via USB
- if you can then your done
- if not, download this and install
- if it's still not working, (which I doubt) then update windows. After the Samsung drivers are installed on some windows machines, windows updates provides a specific update that helps. I watched it happen/work on 2 machines.
- still not working, get ready....sounds crazy...but install Windows Media Player 11. It is tied into the MTP framework somehow. This is the version I used
Win7
- plug your Ss in via usb
- install the samsung drivers
- after any/each of these steps, unplug/replug usb S3 to PC
- check Device Manager in Win7 for any Yellow exclamation marks. If there are none, then go see if you can transfer large files (eg mp3) to your S3 and back via USB
- if you can then your done
- if it's still not working, (which I doubt) then update windows. (remember to unplug/replug usb after.
- install wmp11 or higher
- if it's still not working, try this file (sorry...can't elaborate on it)
- STILL NOT WORKING...doubt it...but last chance, download this file and place it into c/windows/inf directory and reboot.
