Ok so I want 2.2 but once I go from DI18 > EB13 > EC05 I get some bugs:
* Freezes
* Crashes
* Boot loops
I tried everything, I think. I've reflashed rewiped bla blahh. I also put VisionKernel on and not much happened although I do like the kernel a lot.
Can someone make a nooby guide for me or something because I must be doing something wrong...
Thanks.
EDIT: I'm trying to run SRF

ODIN a fresh (pre-rooted if you want to save some time) EC05 then flash SFR.
Yes best way is a fresh install using Odin. The tar file is in the development section with Odin and the instructions on how to use it.
Sent From My Evo Killer!
1) odin to stock ec05
2) use the cwm 3.0.0.6 one click
3) flash the rom then let it fully boot (there's gonna be issues)
4) flash the rom again
5) let it boot
6) flash the kernel

Ok ill try it in a bit, but can I have some links? I see 2 different EC05 modems. And do I need to flash EB13 since I'm on DI18? Or just flash EC05.
Sent from my SPH-D700 using XDA App
It doesn't matter what version you are on, ODIN factory resets you then installs the fresh rom over it.
OK!
And its working with just some minor freezes which don't bother me. Otherwise great ROM!

If you get freezes, use the kernel linked in the second post under the changelog.

I am running sydicate frozen 1.2 w genocide kernel ec05. When I first rooted and installed my new rom n junk, I could flash any ec05 nocid noproblem but now I keep gettng FCs after flashin between a couple themes. Even if I clear both caches, hard reset, reinstall ROM, etc and try a fresh install w a theme. Everything I tried will still result in FCs now. I tried everything but reflash stock ROM and reflash SRF but I don't see how reflashing stock ROM then SRf would be any different. Any idea what gives?

You have data corruption. You will have to wipe everything and start over on a fresh Rom. Use the .zip in the SFR thread to turn on journaling once you have the new rom flashed.

Install your ROM, reboot, then CIQ, then Themes... Sometimes doing them all in the same CWM session junks'em up. =)

I'm running a ROM w nociq. I prefer nociq. I only do 1 flash per cwm boot. Unless its a boot screen or something that won't interfer.
Should I be running CIQ to prevent this? If so, is that even possible without flashing a ciq rom?

I flashed srf 1.2 and genocide kernal 1.1 about two weeks ago and ever since my phone is just been really buggy.
For example: I go to call someone and and it connects for about one second and then ends the call. When this happens it also shuts down all the sounds, like the ringer volume buttons don't beep. The only way to get it back to normal is to shut it down and pull the battery.
I don't know if this is a problem but the 3g symbol has two arrows, sometimes it seems like they are white colored for a really long time like no 3g data is coming or going.
There also has been just a number of little annoying things that happen at random.
I have reflashed once already and it seemed to cure some of the problems but then new ones came up.
What are the possibilites of what is wrong? Rom,Kernal,Both, bad download?
What would you guys do? Should I odin back to normal and then download rom and kernal and reflash?
Can someone give me a link to some known clean files that i need for odin to flash back to eco5. If i do odin back to i need to erase anything before i do? Like themes or stuff like that.
Thank you to anyone that can help.
I would re-download everything to your computer, then transfer to sdcard. Then Odin to stock EC05, then wipe cache, data, dalvik 3 times each, then flash the ROM, then flash the kernel, then any mods you want. Reboot between each flash.

Correction, flash rom and kernel in the same flash, otherwise you'll get stuck on boot without a kernel.
So what files do I need for odin to go back to eco5? Does anyone have a link for the correct files?
I will start with a recommendation once you get up and running to enable journaling seeing that you seem to have some stability issues. Get that here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1071723
For ec05 stock go here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=773032
To get the files also has instructions. If you like visual instructions there is a link in my sig for qbking's videos.

Almost so necessary on 1.2 that it should probably be baked in with the option to flash the zip to turn it off

Ok so I downloaded the journal On and Off files from your first link. They seem pretty straight forward. Once you have your custom rom and kernal installed you use CWM to flash the ON zip file to enable journaling and you do the same thing with the OFF zip file if you want to turn it off. Is that correct?
Now for the stock files in your second link, I am still not sure which ones I need. I read the whole post and I am wanting to go back to complete stock setup. I think I need this file:Ok so I downloaded the journal On and Off files from your first link. They seem pretty straight forward. Thanks to everyone that is helping me.
Yes, you just flash the journal on zip right after ROM and kernel then reboot. It adds stability. From the look of the link, it will restore you to an early version of stock and you will most likely be prompted for an OTA update to get back to EC05

I would try going step by step. First go into settings/applications. Go to Maps and force stop and clear data. Try the app again. If that doesn't work, do the same again then power down. Boot into recovery, wipe cache partition and Dalvik cache 3x and reboot. If that doesn't work, wipe everything and hopefully you have a good nandroid backup. If not, you may have to flsh the ROM again. Odin shouldn't be necessary on this one.

Actually..i have no idea. When i flashed the eg22...i still had the vision kernel on there. I was fine for a few hours, things went bad when i tried to put gen 2.0 on. My phone never liked gen 2.0 but since i changed mods, i thought things would change. i uploaded gen from acs updater, but of course, it sent me to blue recovery..so i booted up into cwm after i pulled batt. when she came back on, everything started force closing and text messages wasnt working. I went back to eco5 and now everything is fine. Now that i think about it, since it was a leak, maybe it wasnt compatible with set cpu..hmm. As far as the map thing..i tried everything....then it dawned on me. Just delete it and install from market..she brand new now and maps is running.

Phone works great. Little hard on my eyes, might be the coloring of the theme. I just want to try something new, like CM9, but noticed that I have to go back to GB before I can go to CM9. Im just confused as to what to do now.
My phone currently reads:
Android version: 4.0.4
Baseband version: S710.10 S.FE10
Kernel version: [email protected] #3
Build number: RUJELUS22 The Blu Kuban FE10 1.0.3.5

Ok well Odin on PC would work fine. Download all your files (rom, gapps, whatever you need to) and flash the el26 kernal with cwm. Then when that's finished and your phone tries to reboot, pull the battery and then put it back in, then boot into the recovery. Wipe all data, wipe cache, wipe dalvik cache, then flash rom, then gapps and whatever else you may need. Be sure to do a nandroid backup when you first get into recovery.

el26_stockcwm.tar.md5?

Be sure to wipe everything first. And yes that .tar file is the one you need. Do yourself a favor and re-read the cm9 installation process just to be safe.

Ok, if you want gapps, then download whichever kernal the rom comes with, just the kernal tho. Then flash el26cwm again and flash gapps, then before you reboot, flash the kernal that you had just downloaded with rom. You won't lose any data so you have nothing to worry about.

Ok.
So Im using Odin PC to put EL26CWM back onto the phone, then boot up the phone into recovery. Then I flash gapps onto it, but before restarting flash the kernel thats supposed to come with CM9. Right?
Now, I don't really like the recovery that comes with CM9, I feel like the display is a lot darker and I don't have as many options. Can I use another recovery?
Also my boot screen is for the I9100 and it has a yellow triangle. Whats that about?
Don't worry about the yellow triangle for now. We'll get rid of that later. And about the recovery, no. Leave the one that it comes with. If you flash a gb kernal then your phone won't boot. And the ice recovery isn't safe. And it won't be until source comes out and our devs make a safe cwm for pics. Til then, just stick with what you've got.

ok I've rooted and installed clockwork recovery as per the instructions in the how to. Still each time I go to flash a rom I get nothing but the galaxy sII logo and it hangs there indefinitely. Did I miss a step in these instructions ? I'm on EL29 baseband if that helps.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v7pWjmKCsoc
those are the instructions I used. and I don't think I've missed a step. I've reverted back to stock and re rooted my phone and installed clockwork. How do I get roms to actually flash?
Depends, what are you trying to flash?
Sent from my SPH-D710 using xda app-developers app
I see the link in your video is just for rooting, but you can get into CWM? did you try the auto root EL29+CWM? Also, if you are following to Devs instructions on how to flash the ROM you should be good to go. have you tried wiping everything first or just installing it over the previous ROM? i suggest downloading Calkulin's Format All zip. flash it before you flash a ROM.
Link: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1527041 its at the bottom of the 1st post.
Link: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1342728
is this what you used for CWM?
yeah those are the things I used actually to get clockwork. It'll let me use clockwork, wipe everything install whatever but when I go to reboot to start it up it hangs at the galaxy s2 screen. I let it go for 2 hours last night. Any rom honestly would be fine at this point. I'm pretty familure with twrp, cwm, and 4ext from the evo 3d but nothing works with this phone.
Would the steps for flashing a rom say blazer for example be
Wipe data, dalvik, and chache.
flash zip from sd reboot? like normal or am I missing a step with another kernel or something?
it would be the same. but I use the Calkulin's Format All zip to do it for me. I know you do get a longer boot then normal because its building delvik cache but not two hours. have you tried downloading the ROM to your computer and then transfering it over to your phone? I had an issue a few days ago because of a bad download(good thing I had my nandriod). What CWM do you have? 5.0.2.7?
yeah thats the only way I do it actually. D/l from the laptop and copy it to sd. then use calkulins to wipe everything and it still just sits.
I just googled "flash ROM boot loop" it came up with something. What is your default launcher? Some people have had problems if they use for say go launcher or another launcher and not have one set as default. On calkulins ROM.

I am still on the stock rom. only thing I can do is root it with odin and and add clockwork mod with e4gtauto prog. I still have no idea whats going on.
So your on stock TW launcher?
Try flashing a different kernel. Like rogue, that is another recovery based off of CWM. That's what I use, well I use both and haven't had a problem. Another thing is get an MD5 checksum program for your laptop and check the file sum for integrity. Sorry it took me awhile to respond, finally have a day off.
Sent from my SPH-D710 using xda app-developers app
I actually tried flashing one wth mobile odin that I found on the cyanogenmod page. It booted to the android text logo and that was it. so thats a step in the right direction. Should I just flash it through clockwork after I flash the rom like normal?
That's your problem. If your flashing a GB ROM you need a GB kernel. If your flashing an ICS ROM you need preferably EL26 kernel then use CWM to flash the ROM and kernel. flash the rogue kernel in the kernel repository then try flashing a GB ROM. After that then you should be good to go.
Sent from my SPH-D710 using xda app-developers app

flash kernel/recovery through odin.
calkulins wipe all
flash rom
flash gapps if needed for said rom
reboot.
I've also tried without the 1st step.
I've tried flashing the el26 kernel that everyone seems to say is safe through odin and that boots me into the recovery and I try to wipe then flash and it still does nothing. am I just flashing the wrong intitial kernel to begin with? I can't figure out why Im having this problem now since I've had multiple rooted phones in the past with no issues.
But now I'm back on stock gingerbread again completely just rooted and then the did the e4gtauto to get a recovery.
