I have notice that in the last day or so my phone sync icon has been constantly spinning and draining battery very fast....Help, is there a fix for this???

If you're on a Sense Rom & have removed any system apps that sync, the syncing will go on forever as it's trying to sync an app that's not there. Gmail, Facebook, Peep, Friend Stream & its counterparts, Weather... you get the point. Restore those apps or reflash the ROM to solve the problem. A temporary fix would be going into Settings, Applications, Manage Applications and force stopping com.htc.bgp but you'll have to do that any time the phone syncs.
I don.t recall removing anything...I just start to notice this about two days ago..I am running the Elite Series Custom Rom and have not had any problems untol now...strange...I really hate to reflash

Does a battery pull, wipe of cache, and dalvik cache, and then reboot solve it? It sounds like something is stuck syncing. Maybe Facebook, the weather, or something. When you go to menu>settings>accounts and sync, do you see any of your accounts stuck with the spinning sync icon?

Haven't found a way to remove frequently called or contacted from the phone or people app. Kinda sux seeing my ex's info right there every single time. Temps me to text or call. And yes drunk texts apply here so it'd b nice to be able to remove these on demand lol
Anyone know how?

Press the menu button and then clear call log.
Not the call log. The frequently contacted. Its the last column in each app, phone app and people app. designated with a star icon at the top of the people app

Oh sorry. I misunderstood you. You could try clearing data in the contacts app. Not contact storage.
I haven't tried it so I can't confirm. That's my only educated guess.

Have you tried. Logging in on your computer and digging around? I looked briefly the other day and didn't see anything.

Hold down on contacted and then hit the 3 dot thing and tap remove from log. To remove favorites you gotta log in and click on contact and then find the find the setting to remove starred contacts but it didnt update on phone. I dont know how to proceed with that part.

Clearing data in contacts storage works on mine, and it must on yours as well.
Only thing I can think of if that doesn't work, is if you store your contacts on phone or sim. But can't understand why you would do that.

How can this data be cleared? I have been trying to find a way to clear the frequently called list for weeks since ICS came out!!
Anyone thought about checking in their Gmail account online to see if Google has said contact(s) flagged as frequently contacted?

Sadly that clears even the call log. I want to clear the frequently called list or some specific numbers from that list but maintain my history.
I don't mind the frequently called list to be hidden since I can manually clear the history. Frequently called list however does not allow deleting some numbers.

This really is annoying.
you could just install exdialer from the market. you can delete individually calls from call history (incoming/outgoing/missed). and you get T9 dialing with it as well as a bunch of other useful stuff missing from the stock dialer.
doesn't consume much resources, very fast, and you can have it look almost exactly like stock dialer with its ICS theme.
If you want to have the same stock dialer icon you can use desktop visualizer (free) and link it to the stock dialer icon.
Hi All,
how to get the Gmail application asking for a password rather than going straight to my inbox / conversations... ?
Thanks in advance,
Wolf
Sign out? Or get an app that can password protect other apps
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using XDA App
I can't find any " Sign out " while i am in the Gmail app !
That will be a nice option though ...
I don't think it's possible to sign out of your Google account on your phone. There are probably some third party applications that can hide or protect Gmail.
Alternatively, you could create a second Gmail account and unsync your primary... just a thought I haven't needed to hide an account so I'm not sure what Gmail will do I. That scenario.
Good luck

Wow I could have sworn I had seen one, but I guess not cause I can't find it lol. Just get an app that password protects other apps

Since YOU didn't find it as well, lol
I will get an app that password protects other apps
Sorry about that

Hi All,
what app do you recommend to password protect other apps ?
Thanks
I used to use the one in zd box. And btw, if you force close the app that is password protecting another app it will stop protecting it. So don't find this out the hard way if you're hiding stuff from your wife or gf or whatever lol

Hey all,
Been having an issue and wanted to know if anyone has experienced the same thing.
I recently added a second Gmail account for my school email, and the first time it automatically downloaded some apps that I guess were downloaded from the market under that account. This is fine and I expected that, however...
I deleted all of the apps it downloaded because I don't want them anymore. A little while later it proceeded to download them all AGAIN without me doing anything. I deleted them a second time and then when I got home and connected to the wifi, it again downloaded all of the same apps.
Any idea on why it is doing this?
Thanks

Thanks. So it's normal for it to "restore" my apps more than once after adding an account, and after I delete them multiple times?

Just a heads up. Today's free giveaway of the day for Windows is software that allows you to recover the fore mentioned, also some backup features.

This could be beneficial should one accidentally delete something before or without backing up, assuming it actually works. I haven't tried it, just passing it on for those that might find it useful at some point. I'm thinking of more the recovery part of it over the backing up part. I often see posts by others wanting to recover deleted texts. I'm planning on downloading it, just in case. You never know in a pinch.
