Hello, I have a branded US T-Mobile HD 7 which has the TELSTRA NoDo on it. I would like to know if it's possible to flash the phone back to the pre-nodo stock rom? I would like to do this in order to try to attempt to get the official T-Mobile Nodo update.
Thank you in advance.
P.S. I posted this in the HD 7 section as well because I'm a noob to these forums and not sure where the question should really go.
In Zune, when you go to Settings->Phone->Update, do you get a section where you can restore a previous update?
If so, that should take you to the Pre-NoDo state.
No, when I go to update it just looks for the update and then tells me that my device is up to date.
Odd... You should have a previous restore point set up if you've installed NoDo.
What version number are you currently at?

Will restoring to factory settings remove the new 1.47.... update. I would like to root my phone but I hear with the new update it can't be done. Or is there anyway to get to an older software version
sprint .exe
You can try to use the posted Sprint factory .exe that is located in the roms section of the evo development area. I used it to unroot my phone before the update came out. I'm holding off for a more stable process. All processes are still in beta. My advise is to just do your update then get the official froyo ota then wait for a stable root for that build. I can't say that doing this will work since the latest ota but if you're willing to try then go for it. This should/will put you back to the original shipped build before the .6 ota release. I take no responsibility if doing this bricks your phone.
Good luck.

unrevoked had something up, just wait and they will figure something out.
Thanks I saw the unrevoked 2.0 but didn't know if that was a patched working version or not
So my phone just notified me there was a system software update available but that,s all the info I got. Pretty sure its from Telus but....
Here's the question: Now I assume it would be bad for me to dl and install this update on my rooted HTC Desire but what is it? How can I find out, by calling my provider I assume? And should I unroot, install update and re-root?
I have searched the threads with no luck and I figure it's because it was just released in BC perhaps....
I know that most of these are terrible noob questions but better to ask than to figure out what to do with my expensive new paperweight....
Thanks in advance!
whoaa im on telus in BC too! lol
ok anyways I didn't get a call though so i don't think that was a genuine call
maybe check for system software updates in settings?
No updates were available for me. Have you already done the 2.2 OTA update from telus?
Update
I did the 2.2 update in October and this was a notification through my phone and I declined it and checked via the settings/about phone/software update and it showed up again.
I'm going to call Telus this afternoon and ask.
What software version does it say it is?
And no, don't try to flash it on the rooted ROM
I figured best not to from what I've read before. It doesn't say what it is.
it was sent and that's all that matters!
hmmm, OTAs normally say what version number they're updating to
Okay now it gets weirder...
I just went to recheck and make sure there was no other info and now it says my system is up to date?
WTF!? Perhaps I need a reinstall of my rom and and a nice reboot!
it was sent and that's all that matters!
Can I downgrade my rom? I forgot that chevlon unlocking doesn't work on nodo and would like to downgrade to the old rom and then reupdate back to the nodo after i have unlocked it?
Thanks

Zune performed a backup before nodo was installed. Don't ask me where exactly, but somewhere in zune you can do a rollback.
Thank you Very much! Will try and find out Thanks
hi for some reason i dont have any backup?
i got the option to restore in the update tab in zune, it said your phone is upto date, you can restore
yep but i updated sraight from original to nodo bwcause i wanted to debrand but i never knew that the rom i was updating too was a nodo. So I can use the update as I never updated using zune.
Ok for anyone who needs to know downgrading can happen! Just did it nothing wrong!
Why do you need to downgrade?
My phone is still dev unlocked after the NoDo update.
similar issue...
I forced NoDo on my Samsung Focus which worked...
then bought an SD card the next day out of excitement.
Not realizing the reset would void my unlock... i try to rollback through zune and it won't let me!! I am assuming because the SD card is now in the picture (which works fine)
Will a hard reset take me to original firmware???

It's on the Update Tab, with a rollback option.
The same update Tab you visited to get the Update.
I've been trying to find an answer for this to no avail. I had unlocked my phone using the methods described here (really in ansar's thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=1101344). My problem is, I rolled back to Nodo hoping to get the Tmob firmware update without having to flash the phone and wipe everything. I also rolled back Zune to 4.7. But, the only thing I get prompted to update to is Mango 7403. Which I thought would only happen if 1. You had the UpdateWP.exe to point your Zune client to the MS test servers and 2. There was a file to initiate on the phone that allowed it to get the Mango update. So, after completing deleting the Zune client and reinstalling, I still only get the Mango beta update message, which leads me to believe there is something with the phone that is keeping it from seeing the updates from Tmobile. And maybe it has to do with the Update_Mango.xap that alters something on the phone. I guess my question is, by using the methods in this thread and Ansar's, would that keep your phone from receiving firmware updates from the carriers? Or has anyone who has unlocked up to Mango beta, then went back to Nodo on Tmob, received the firmware update? Thanks a lot!
Also, wasn't sure if this should be in General, Q&A or what. Chose this section since it stems from the use of hacks in Development section. Please feel free to direct me accordingly.

I think if you update to Mango beta, you possibly miss the firmware update of HTC for HTC phones, or people who update to Mango earlier.
Just roll all the way back to 7004 and 7008 if you have HTC device and get the update with New Radio and Firmware.

Ok, maybe I will just roll all the way back. I just didn't want to as I have to reinstall EVERYTHING and set my phone back up the way I like it. I assume that you saw the update after rolling back as I saw your other thread?
I rolled back to my NoDo update that I had right before upgrading to the first Mango beta. I still had the beta version of Zune, and the phone prompted me to update the HTC Update, which installed fine, and then I continued to upgrade to beta 2.
Keep in mind that the HTC Update is going out slowly, not all at once, so not everyone will get prompted all the time.

Ok, well that's reassuring. I think my problem is that I didn't do a backup of Nodo before I updated to the Mango Beta. Later on (after provisioning the phone and such to receive the Mango beta), I rolled back to Nodo, set up everything again and then did a backup. You are right though in the fact that I could just not possibly have received the HTC update as of yet.
Did you unbrand your phone? That was my problem. I have mango installed but my phone was unbranded. All I did was rebrand it and got my firmware update from Tmobile for my HTC HD7.

Thanks man

I used the official HTC update that was leaked last week to update my Trophy. All went smoothly. However, I got no updates afterwards. I then tried the zune trick to no avail.
I can't restore back to NoDo either with my restore file! What can I do? I wanna get back on the Zune update bandwagon. Any body with success stories?/Help

I think you would better find an appropriate NoDo ROM and flash it back, so you can perform the update through Zune without problem.
