Hi XDA Users,
i have a big Problem.
I was build the string
\My Documents\My Ringtones\Roadrunner_Sms.wma
When I click save the the Omnia 7 vibrate unlimited till i touch the back button.
When I look in my settings then I see the MS alerttone and i registry is the Original String.
How can I change the sms tone.
PLS help me.

hello ppl been a while...............my xda2 has konked off. my ringtone goes back 2 windows default irrespective of how many times i change it .im using wm2k5 buzz version plz help me ...give me a permanent solution...thanx ....n also my vibrator stoped workign ne help is appreciated thx ppl

u must check that the ringtone u wish to use is stay on your pocketpc under windows rings if not he using the default windows ringtone

Recently upgraded my XDA Orbit to WM6 using one of the ROMs from TUPISDIN ( http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=314675 )and all is well apart from an annoying missing feature:
When creating a new SMS and typing in the name of the recipient, previously it used to suggest names from my contacts after 2 characters & more. This now does not do this and I have to select to add a recipient! Is this just mine or does this happen on all WM6 installs?
My smart dialing works fine so it really is just SMS.
Hope someone can suggest ideas as this is a small but irritating feature

Hi there DMan, well the answer you are looking for is within keyboard options you have changed you "suggest word(s) after * letters" increased to more than 3, ruduce this option back to 2 and contacts will display again when typing in the recipient.
Errr...... OK, I am DMan, I found the answer after playing around for quite a while, then couldnt see how to delete this thread! Sad I know but at least I have helped someone, even if it is me

newbie to this... i have just flashed my BT branded device - now works a treat without all that BT junk...
but one thing - i seem to loosing my mind wrt the keyboard when texting - the qwerty function is not there - 0 thru 9 operate like a mobile fone predictive text keys not the wersdfxcv etc...
how can i get full qwerty functionality back? it's doing my head in!!!
i have read similar threads but would like a simple guide if possible...

Read and follow the directions.....very simple.
1- Transfer this cab to you "my documents" folder on your phone.
2- Using A file explorer (resco Explorer) on your phone find the cab and click on it to install it on your phone.

Mickey does that eT9.cab solve the problem of having to press FN with , = ;
& FN with . = :
So as to make the usual 2nd layout "Hold" key work.

No it doesn't but was worth a try, not that fussed to be honest.
I am having exactly the same problem, texting with the multi-tap system is really annoying. Is there any way to have Qwerty back? My tab key is not working so the pop-up menu that's supposed to appear when pressing SPACE+TAB is not working for me. i have a excalibur S621 that originay come with windows ce without mobile office, but the htc have other same S621 with windows mobile 6.5 with office, and becouse of that i upgraded my phone with the windows mobile 6.1. But, with the new version comes with T9 keyboard driver and my keyboard (qwerty) become to be confuse, like the phones that dont have an keyboard like my phone.

ok my mates just got a LG GM750 and it must be the worst WM6.5 device ever, i hate it to the core and my mates always having issues and wanting me to solve them, ok i need help on a few things
1) the UI is c*** and i can turn most of it off like the home screen stuff but the other stuff like the weird SMS/EMAIL/MMS theme they added just takes the piss, to send a message u have to navigate though 3-6pages of c*** to open a message or read oen or send one, id like to disable it completely and use the default windows mobile version is their a way
2) is their any LIGHT roms as this rom he has from vodaphone comes with no kiddin approx 100mb of s*** installed by default and its pointless
3) is their any way to add the htc sense ui with the htc messaging to this phone

I don't know about the phone. Probably difficult to disable their stuff. Maybe there are some DLL re-directions in the registry? Try compare anything SMS, Tmail etc. related with another device. Probably you gonna go through few hard resets. maybe it's not even possible since I assume they also got their s**t deep in the OS like HTC, Samsung, etc.
LG != HTC so I doubt it's possible to just cook a new lite (or Sense-UI) ROM.

Maybe you can try and search some freeware applications that provide a replacement for the stuff you want to get rid of, and maybe they're able to overwrite it.
I also bought this phone.. and i really hate it too.. i can't believe i gave so much money for something that is such a piece of cr*p...
if somebody can find how to just make it winmo 6.5 without all the stupid no-good UI on top of it, please tell me..

The only thing that remains if you disable the lg menu is the sms/mms thing.
This fixes easily with a registry editor.
Here is the fix for lg messaging app:
HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Inbox\MsgTypes\IPM\SMStext \
LGEUMS.dll --- change DLL to "htmlnote.dll"
HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Inbox\MsgTypes\IPM\SI\
LGEUMS.dll --- change DLL to "htmlnote.dll"

Does anyone know how to stop the LG notification for new email and SMS? I prefer the original MS notifications.
hklm/software/lge/apps/initapp ... did not test but there u can find "lgenotifi.exe". This exe is the popup from lg. try to remove or rename this and may it stops.

My SMS message dates are showing up as GMT. Outlook, clock, calendar etc are all showing local time as they should.

I did the registry change. However, when I receive a message, the lg embedded software is automatically activated as the default message receiver to show the new message. What can I do to get rid of it eventually?

This can be easily change at the sms notitification settings on lg messanger app.

I'm struggling to like my new GM750. I'd like to disable the caller id skin (so that I can use e.g. S2U2). But If I disable it by modifying HKLM\Security\Phone\Skin\Enabled, the dialer skin is also removed. And I happen to like that one better than the default WM dialer (which lacks video call). Is there a way to only disable the caller ID skin and keep the LG dialer?
The flashing LED while in standby is a feature I loved in my HTC Trinity. There is still no way to fix it in GM750?

on my gm750 the led only shines when im loading my battery or in some applications..
idk how to do it sry..

Major problem with this fix. MMS messages no longer work!
For those of you who use MMS leave the default values on MsgTypes\IPM\MMS\ (I haven't tested this yet but it should work)

Can we change these replay somewhere in the registry ? or edit some file ???
