Text To Speech forces close whenever I try to access it - Desire General

Title says it all really.
I installed an alarm app that speaks the time when the alarm sounds. It worked OK until I flashed to a new rom. This morning I noticed that the alarm didn't speak the sound. I went into the text to speech settings and it comes up with the force close message.
Anyone know of a resolution for this?
I have rebooted the phone but issue is still the same.

[Q] Alarm Clock Notification Bug?

Do you guys often find that the alarm notification icon sometimes disappears for no reason?
Yeah, mine comes on and goes off for no apparent reason. Have looked at all the setting but have not found a solution. Not a deal breaker though since there are so many other alarm apps on the market, although it would be good to get the stock on working reliably.
no issue with mine. i purchased mine 8 days ago and i use the alarm every day with no issues so far. i am running the bell rom and am rooted
This happens with mine as well, but no issue of the alarm not coming on at the correct time.
this happens to me too!! i've my morning alarm set for 7am all weekdays. however, whenever i turn off the phone, or after an one-week cycle, the notification icon would disappear.
Although it still indicates that the alarms are "on" when i look at all alarms within the Clock app, i just get paranoid that i wont go off the next day (since the notification icon disappears and the lock screen does not indicate an alarm is active).
does anyone know a fix to this?? please help!

[Q] Not getting text message notifications.

I'm getting texts and no audible text message notification.
This seems to have happened when I went into text message settings and changed the text message notification to an m4a. I've since changed it back to be "default" but still don't receive an audible notification.
Volumes are fine, selected notification previews fine but I get nothing when it matters.
Anyone experiencing the same thing? Or care to try it out?
I'm on 4.0.2, no custom ROM involved.
try a reboot for hahas.

Worked after I set the message alert back to "default" and rebooted. I'll see what happens when I set it to a specific alert tone again. Unfortunately for this test I don't get text messages very often...
Seems like a very simple thing to get right/wrong. Odd bug.

When I try to use voice commands to set an alarm, nothing happens

I don't know how long this has been an issue, but I was playing around with voice commands recently and discovered that when I tell my phone "set an alarm for 8 hours from now" a box will pop up asking me to confirm setting the time, and when I hit "set" the screen goes black and nothing happens.
Has this happened to anyone else? Know what might be the issue?
I think you need an alarm that supports voice setting and the stock one doesn't.
I didn't know that. Thanks. I'll check out other alarm apps.

Can't add alarm tones...

Recently my clock app stopped letting me add alarm tones. I go to alarm tone, click add, the window goes away momentarily like it's opening another window, but then it goes right back to my list of available tones. I cleared data for the clock app and the issue persists. Cleared every default I could think of, but no luck. Anybody know what the issue might be? Phone is unrooted on stock.

[Q] Text Notification Ringtone not working

Not sure if this is the correct place to post this question. But, my text message notification ringtone suddenly stopped working. The phone vibrates when i get a text message but no sound. Which means im missing all my text messages. All other sounds seem to be working. This is happening with both the stock HTC messaging app and hangouts.
I've tried different ringtones, I've rebooted and it works for the first text message then stops.
Im using Santod's stock 6 sense rom.
Anyone have any ideas?

In the stock messaging app go to settings>Notifications and see if "play notification sound" is checked. Then in notification sound set it to the preferred sound and see if that works.
If all else fails do a clean install of the rom and you should be good to go. I am currently running the same Rom and on first boot my ringtone in sound settings was set to silent.

Thanks for the reply, everything is turned on as you suggested. I even changed the ringtone back to a HTC ringtone thinking one of my custom ringtones was causing the problem. But no change. I was trying to avoid the reset but i guess that's my only option.
