Video recording is out of sync - EVO 4G Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

So, I have an EVO running Myn Z 2.2. I decided to do my first video blog for Big Fat Loser, and when I finished recording I noticed the video is way out of sync.
Any idea on a fix? I tried using software to resync it, but it gets progressively worse, and the software I found would just let you lag the video by so many miliseconds.
Here is the Video
Any suggestions?

Bump because im impatient

is it just this one video? Could have just been a glitch.

It could very well be related to the kernal. What kernal are you using? Are you using anything to set CPU speed or profiles?

[Q] Sorry this video cannot be played

Please help..... I get this error after watching a few minutes of streaming video. Or sometimes it happens right after the video loads.
After the message pops up the video and audio is still playing fine in the background, but once i click "ok" to acknowledge the error, the video just quits....
Am i the only one experiencing this or what!
Running the latest 2.2 8/01 rom. What is the fix?
Any links ????.
Thanks?
I have gotten this to, however I don't have any roms just modified kernel and 2. Radio. I can't seem to find a fix any where

Same here. Anyone found a solution for this yet?

[Q] Video will NOT record.

Well I've been using Offical HTC 2.2 Build for a while on a unbranded desire, And today I tried to record and video and the timer went away and would not do anything, The phone then became EXTREMLY laggy, I've tried different video settings not working, It is REALLY annoying, I recorded video without any problems 2 days ago.
Bump, Still trying to record stuff doesn't nothing but mess with my phone.
Did you upgrade the radio too? From what you're saying, it looke like you've forgotten that part

720p video lags on cyanogenmod 7

on stock desire, 720p playback on moboplayer or rockplayer, the same 720p videos were runnning smooth (only some rare very brief freeze at times) but on cyanogen using moboplayer, 720p; the video runs very very slowly and sound is totally out of sync.. what settings do i need to change to get playback as smooth as on stock rom??
edit: thought cm7 was supposed to be better than stock rom in terms of performance...
no one has this same problem?
i've had similar problem. let me say first that video recording worked great on unrooted device, then on rooted with stock rom, then on InsertCoin 2.0.1. rom, then back on stock rom (i went back with clockworkmod recovery), then again on Insercoin for a week or so...(don't ask, i did some experimenting )...
but then all of a sudden, after a full week on Insertcoin ROM, without me installing something new or fiddling around, out of the blue, video recording went loco. everything looked ok while recording but when playing video would pause every few seconds, then quickly catch on, then pause again, and so on...as if sd card couldn't catch up writing the video. but that couldn't be the case because everything worked fine before. i forgot to mention, both 720p and 800x480 recording didn't work...
i didn't try removing setcpu app and defragmenting sd card. instead i went back to unrooted stock rom and now everything works fine again. now i'm little tired to root and flash any custom rom over again. if anyone has the idea what went wrong please share...thx!

i will try defragmenting sd card. If it does not work, will switch back to stock rom. Got some other issues with cyanogenmod 7 also.... it is not as great as everyone keeps to say...
today recorded video started pausing again. i forgot to mention it earlier, but i bought new 8GB class 4 SD card and it didn't help. i don't think defragmenting will work (at least for me). it seems that this prob might be hardware related...
I had this problem on relextense hd, just figured it was the norm for the phone

i read a few threads on this issue and it seems to me that it's because of gingerbread which does not have the necessary codecs... let's just wait for official gingerbread and see if it works again...
i have tried cyanogen 7 (android 2.3) and miui (android 2.3).. in both roms 720p lags
thx for suggestions, guys. but i'm on stock froyo rom. i'll try removing some apps and see if it's related. after i flashed back stock rom it all worked fine, but now it pauses again. i removed poweramp and rockplayer but no luck. i really don't want to remove all downloaded apps all over again....any other suggestion?
720p works fine for me. Maybe hardware issue?
i have some update on the stuff. today i uninstalled all apps i've downloaded since buying the phone, including the updates to it's native gmail and facebook apps. after that, i restarted the phone and voila, video recording worked again, smooth and steady.
so i went to install all apps again, one by one, and after each one i tried video recording again. the result was that after some apps video was recorded with pauses, and after some it wasn't. so i uninstalled those apps again and tried video recording, but it didn't help. then i went to install them back again but not in the same order as the first time. again video was fine after installing some apps and not fine after the others. but, it didn't pause after installing some apps for the second time, the same apps which i have installed the first time when video was recorded with pauses. so it seems it's not app related after all.
but, after so much installing and uninstalling it became clear that video recording worked flawlessly after each phone reboot. at some point after rebooting the phone video begun to record with pauses again. after some more testing i can confirm that this occurs after installing new (any) apps. as long as i don't install anything, video will record normally. i cannot possibly imagine what can cause such behavior, but for now it seems to be the pattern. i hope it'll help some of you with the same problem. but nevertheless this shouldn't happen at all. i have sent a ticket to HTC support, maybe they'll come up with a more permanent solution.

720p video playback is smooth on your cm7? i have tried cm7 and miui (gingerbread) and 720p video is slow and out of sync with the audio
seems it's related with your sd card.. what class are you using? i think the more apps u have installed, the speed at which sd card is accessed is slower.... my 720p recording/playback is not smooth as well, i have like 60-70 apps installed (lol), that's probably why

[Q] DINC choppy or laggy video after CM7 flashed.

Hello guys,
I flashed CM7 onto my DINC, and of course I cleared cache, firmware, data and everything before actually doing it.
After it came up, I began installing you tube app and such.
When I played video on it, any video played looked weird like it backtracked each second, like whatever image it played, it played it again 1 second of it and then moved on.
Very weird issue if you ask me, so I thought it was the youtube app or something, but then when I shot a video then showed it to my friends, same thing happened. So it looks like any video played on my DINC after flashing CM7, seems to be playing very bad.
Any ideas?
Running a 2.15 radio?
Yes sir, I am running a 2.15 radio. Is that bad?
Nope, it's mandatory. Which kernel, governor, and clock speeds are you running?
Allright:
Kernel: 2.6.38.8 incredikernel
Governor and clock speed: haven't changed them since I flashed this and ROM together. I also installed incredicontrol.
Would you like to do me some video recording showing exactly the lagging problem?
I may just backup everything tonight and reflash, see if that solves the problem, though I highly doubt it due to the clean flash and just starting to have that problem.

[Q] Videos won't play without a restart

Hey guys,
So just a little background: Running PA 2.53 on Trinity 63
The problem: Sometimes I'll try and play a video, on youtube, locally, basically anywhere and the phone just won't. It'll sit there loading then when I hit back the app FCs. A restart will fix the issue until I run into it again, at which point I have to reboot again.
Extra: This isn't exclusive to my configuration. I've had the same issue since I got the phone (before root and rom). The issue persisted on PA with the included kernel as it does with the Trinity kernel. I like PA though and would like to stick with that. I don't know if this is related, but when this happens my face unlock also stops working (loads for a second then flips to the pattern grid)
So, folks, has anyone heard of anything like this? I don't think it's a hardware issue since a restart usually clears it up, but it's really frustrating (and embarassing when I want to show someone a video I literally just took) Any suggestions on how to fix it?
I had the same issue. Uninstalling VLC beta solved it. I don't know if you have a third app video player installed, but you might want to try that.
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using xda app-developers app
Only QuickPic. I just uninstalled it now and am seeing if it makes any difference, doubt it will since it's not a video player with its own codecs like VLC.
Bump, other opinions?
I have found a similar issue on another site that outlines the exact problem I'm having, seems many are having them since Jelly Bean. Factory Resets don't help.
