Droid X/Droid 2 keyboard for CM7? - G2 and Desire Z Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Anybody know if this is possible now that gingerbread has been made for Motoblur?
Sent from my HTC Vision using XDA Premium App

the gingerbread keyboard is already multi touch is there a feature you're looking for?

Gingerbread keyboard is nice, but the bigger keys help lots on the motorola multitouch keyboard! Just wondering if someone could get it ported to other devices now that its capable of being used on gingerbread, rather than just froyo with the new gingerblur update being released

I pulled the latinime and lib from the deodexed dx leak, but it seems it won't play nice.
time to decompile the apk..

[REQ] Gingerbread Droid X keyboard

Gingerbread (or Gingerblur) has been leaked for the Droid X/Droid 2, and i was wondering if someone could get the multitouch keyboard ported over for CM7 since its been formatted for Gingerbread! I like the stock keyboard, but that keyboard is so good! Thanks!
A picture at all? Wondering what it looks like

Looks like the same keyboard I have on my g2 already.
Htc_ime mod I think its called. It was the stock android keyboard on my mytouch4g...I personally despise this gray one that came with this g2.

This.
Tried BetterKB, Gingerbread, Swype, SlideIt, Ultra, but SmartKeyb pro is easily the best for me.
Personally HTC IME Mod is the best fit for me, nice big buttons, and plenty of useful features, like moving through text with the volume rocker or even much needed spell check for the hardware KB.
Swype. /thread
I still go back to the droid x keyboard, I love it.
themed gingerbread keyboard. Best. Ever

Agree. Swype is the fastest and easiest for me. You do have to have good spelling to get the best result out of it though!
Orderwise you ends up making silky ousts on treats

Can keyboards be combined? For instance Gingerbread with Swype
Shapewriter. It's like Swype, done right. I find Swype to be way too inaccurate, and I dislike the popup. Shapewriter is more accurate and has a bar of word suggestions above the keyboard rather than a popup.
It was pulled from the market when Nuance bought out the developer, but you can still find it fairly easily (as in, linked in the forums at www.shapewriter.com).
It is always one of my first installs, along with Handcent and Androzip.

What rom are u using?

This only works on sense ginger roms, no?
This will only work on gingerbread sense roms. I'm pretty excited for three point oh. I'm waiting for a full port though. There aren't many good, updated gingersense roms available IMO.

Working great for me. Thanks!
Now, let's find the apk that controls the accept/reject calls, dismiss/view calendar, etc...
That would be awesome. I have it on my Desire and it's really nice
doesnt seem to be working for me on virtuous it doesnt recognise that its an APK
Wanted this forever! Too bad ot won't run on meXperia v3 ): will check back for updates

Will this work with never-rooted Gingerbread Desire Z?
To anyone using miui there is a lockscreen in the theme manager download section that is more or less the same lockscreen from 3.0

Agile Lock in the Market is a much better Sense 3 lockscreen. The one linked in the OP is from the Doubleshot aka the myTouch 4G Slide, and it's not the complete Sense 3 lockscreen. It doesn't have shortcuts, widgets or customizations.

Regarding using the Sense 3 lockscreen? As noted this is a replacement lockscreen that looks and has similar features as the Sense 3 lockscreen, decided to check it out.
So, bought the full paid Agile Lock app for $1.40 from the android market...so far so good. Lots of settings and also on screen widgets + apps.

[Q] rotating menu buttons

I recently installed CM7 and the bottom buttons no longer rotate...I understand that this is due to the fact that CM7 is not running sense, But i was curious if there would be a way to implement this feature in any way..
No not at this point. The rotating buttons are a feature built into the sense framework and since aosp/cm7 has a different fw, it won't work. Same thing with animated data arrows I'm told.

Yep probably never gonna happen

Thank you both for you input. So the only way to get these features operating would be to flash a sense or a hybrid rom..any suggestions on a good one?

Has any one heard about a Sense 5 port for the One V?

I'd like to know that way I can reroot after my epic fail trying to simply set a font.
BTW ICS can now get Emoji via Google Keyboard!

I don't think our phone could ever handle sense 5. It looks lighter but I mean, just check the moving gallery and the constantly updated home screen, it's too heavy
