[Q] Looking for anyone who can provide custom ROM - About xda-developers.com

Greetings,
My name is Don and our company works in the field of mobile network testing, we are basing our solution on Qualcomm chipset. We have all the necessary licenses from Qualcomm required for decoding layer 3 messages and we understand that some phones' diagnostic mode can be enabled through diag coded (*#197428640 for Samsung).
However, we desire a more permanent solution that can be applied across multiple devices, we are looking for anyone who can provide us with a custom android firmware image for Android phones that gives USB access to its qualcomm diagnostics port and must work with QXDM. If a general solution can't be found then the ability to connect to HTC phones and some selected models would sit well with us.
I don't know if this is the right forum for this kind of posting and if it's not I apologize.

SDIO WiFi which support Host AP,Can we build an Access Point

I know this may seem rhetorical, as most people use their PDA as WiFi clients. However, i've noticed a plethora of cheap SDIO WiFi cards, many of them OEM's. In fact, I have an Ambicom branded SD WiFi card which is actually the same OEM card as produced by Spectec in Taiwan. Unfortunately i haven't seen a pocketpc driver by them that supports the softap function. The specs for the cards show that they can do "Host AP Mode", which is what it takes.
What this means, is that with these cards it should be possible to turn the Harrier/(Blueangel with SD Wifi Card) into an actual Access Point.
My knowledge of how the Windows Mobile kernel operates and its packet routing infrastructure is pretty much nil. I have seen that you can add ICS (Internet Connection Sharing) as a catalog option when compiling a rom for Windows CE. An older product called Segue SoftAP by PCTEL actually did something similar while running under Windows XP, and utilized the built in ICS on it. I'm just curious if anyone knows of a way to build a ROM that something like this could be done through. I've never even seen a DHCP server for pocketpc, so there would need to be a few new things written for sure.
I would just like to know if this is absolutely impossible to do because of the operating system, i know that the hardware can do and handle this, easily.
Also, to know if there is an interest in having something like this by the users in the community.
Would be nice with a video capture device - streaming video from the handset directly to connections.
IH.
Actually, personally i was planning on using it with the Sony PSP to have internet access for it...
There would be many benefits to having the device set up as an access point. Almost limitless.
I guess i'll answer my own question. Apparently there is no routing built in to the OS (PocketPC).
However, companies like airscanner have managed to write drivers which interface to NDIS 6.0 for a firewall. Someone writing a packet router would be really cool.

[Q] BitPim Alternatives

Does anyone know about any good alternatives to BitPim? Other than CDMA Workshop or KINO? thx
BitPim uses a different protocol than KinO. I'm not sure what other programs are that can use the same functionality, though.
Is there some specific feature you're looking for that you haven't found in the others?
the key to hacking this phone
i want one that is centered entirely around filesystem browsing. i would use kino but i need something much more powerful. the key to hacking this phone isnt necessarily getting new os. what we want is a better internet browser with more functionality. if you think about it, its the browser that we want to replace because of its low functionality.
Technically it would depend on which protocol you want to use when browsing the phone. KinO uses MTP (Media Transfer Protocol), and BitPim uses another type of browsing, although I'm not sure what protocol it is. Many older Windows Mobile Devices and other portable devices use a form of Mass Storage protocol, although I can't remember if that's the official name.
It's possible we can get the Kin in that mode now (via the PROGRAMNITT menu), but you need a driver to communicate with it, and as far as I know, we don't have access to a driver to access this mode yet.

what is ANT USB Service ?

Hi
today i saw this on google play
anybody khows anything ?
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.dsi.ant.usbservice
It's something related to collect and transfer sensor data
Usually used by sport or health monitoring devices
Fyi, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ANT%2B
off-shore ting
It is interfacing code you need to interface apps writen for phones with built in ANT support that allows you to use them on phones with USB Host mode and an ANT USB stick plugged in. There was an anouncment about it on the thisisant website earlier in the week. I updated my cyceling computer app IpBike to add support yesterday, just a matter of rebuilding with an updated version of the ANT Android API. It's a fairly cool adition from my point of view as the number of phones with built in ANT support was fairly limited. I have put some more details on my site at iforpowell.com

Diag mode for QPST/QXDM/DFS?

Is it possible to enable a proper diag COM port on this phone? None of the usual methods are adjusting the USB connection.
I'm looking to poke around at the LTE band NV values.

Click to collapse
Compile the userdebug mode rom, brush into the phone, diag port can be opened through setprop diag, adb
But for now I have not found a compatibility driver yet
I'm not too worried about the driver. Curious to see whether it will ask for the generic Google driver or something specific to LG, which I have on hand.
So there's still no light regarding the diag mode on pixel 2 xl huh ?
Its a shame that google strip down such an important function from a phone which aupposed to be dev friendly.
Am trying to write the custom config for my company's VoLTE,
But without diag, nothing can be done. Sigh

Brookstone mp300a projector

Hello all! I would like to ask you guys for some help. I just bought mentioned projector (see subject), and it seems its running some android tv system. I would like to get the latest system possible but i fail to get anything...it seems that projector is no longer supported and i cant find anything literally in the internet. I even wrote to brookstone company but they are not knowing anything either...
Things i was able to find is that current compilation number/build is:
KOT49H.20170626_163421_V1.1.3
I tried to tap multiple times multiple options in the projector to get into developper mode - no effect. Update through system fails as it cant connect to the server (i guess its off due to no further support).
The only thing i managed to find is that its the same projector as ioChow i04 and similar to miroir m220. Unfortunately for these two i also fail to get any info...
Is there anyway to "read" projectors spec through any app, or programme from PC perspective?
I also can disassemble the whole projector to check chip or whatever is on motherboard if this would help anyhow.
In general it works greats connecting with HDMi but i also would like to try make it work as standalone (if possible).
Any suggestions or help you can offer - i would appreciate!! . Thank you!
Hey! I just dug up my projector and decided to do some research on it and found your thread through google.
Unfortunately, I do not think you can do anything further than what is on the projector itself. The build of android used is naturally stripped down, and I don't think its possible to "push it" past it's limits (at least on the software side of things ). But who knows? Maybe someday we'll see someone smarter than me exploit some vulnerability, for now I can only hope.
Sorry that this reply wasn't very helpful. I just mainly wanted to let you know that you aren't the only one wanting to get the most out of this thing
