OK so I have been trying a lot of ROMs and have finally found one that I really like and is more stable than the Stock ROM the phone came with. It's Calkulin's EViO 2 v1.8 for my EVO 4G. I download it here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=745205
Everything works and is rock stable except for one annoying little bug. In any home screen, flicking up makes the notification bar disappear. To bring it back I have to go to ADW Settings > Screen Preferences & then check the "Hide Status Bar" followed by unchecking the "Hide Status Bar".
As, I write this... I just realized that this probably an ADW bug rather than the ROM itself. I'm still new to the forums so I couldn't post in Calkulin's thread. I'm hoping he will see this and provide a fix. While I wait, I am also going to backup the existing ADW using Titanium Backup and try a new version and see if it helps. I will post again if it fixes the issue.

I'm pretty sure that's a feature of ADW. Last time I used it, you could set up certain gestures, one of which was hiding the notification bar via swiping in a specified direction. Make sure you don't have any gestures set up in the ADW settings.
It is definitely an ADW thing, but I could never get it to go away, even when turning off all swipe gestures. I like LPP better anyway, so I never really bothered to get into it. Interested in how to fix it though.
Figured it out. If you swipe up, the bar hides itself. If you swipe up again, the bar is visible again.

Just thought I would ask. I have contacted the developer as well.
I am using the latest Launcher Pro + and when I change the icons for my launch bar they don't seem to always stick. They seem to revert back to the stock icons instead of the updated .png files I have assigned it.
It happens randomly. Is it something I am doing incorrectly? Or is this a glitch?
Thanks for any comments in regards to this.
There is some talk about this over at the forum: http://launcherpro.com/forum I believe if you make it a blank link first, then put a regular icon link after, it kinda resets it and sticks. Head over there to verify...

Dude holy crap. I downloaded it today (I had a couple of times before, always crawled back to sense) and I had this exact problem. After a little while of being pissed and just re-applying, I found a solution, kinda like post 2 I guess. I just clicked on the slot, chose the same activity, and when it asked to choose an icon, THEN I picked the custom one. That worked
Thanks for the replies. I have tried that method as well. Two of the icons stick but like the center application icon reverts back first then the others follow. I will read more on the posted link. Thanks for some input. I am sure it will resolved. I like Sense but with custom icons and setting to bar to highlight froyowide I am enjoying it more and more. Please update anything you might find and vice versa.
Thanks

I've been using ADW since I started playing with CM several weeks ago. I really like it and have no plan to switch to anything else. That said, I am confused about different versions. I know CM ships with one version, but because of the magic of froyo (I think, anyway), a version that I downloaded from the market many moons ago keeps automatically reappearing every time I flash a new nightly. And until I select one as the default, they both appear as an option when I press the home button. Eventually, I get it reconfigured back the way I like it, but it's kinda time consuming and a bit frustrating.
One of the versions has an "Edit" button when you press the menu key while on the home screen. This pops up a nice little aerial view of your home screens and you can add, delete and otherwise manipulates those settings. However, it's not always there and sometimes takes a little fiddling to make it show up. So far, it seems to show up by accident or of its own volition. I've also played with the options to back up and restore ADW settings, but it never seems to remember my ****. Default screens, number of screens, shortcuts, etc.....sometimes they are there and sometimes not.
If anyone can make any sense of the versions or point to some place with some info, I'd love your thoughts. FWIW, I did actually try to search, but ADW is so common, the results were like finding a needle in a haystack.
Thanks!

CM6 uses a decently customized version of ADW since it is open source (LauncherPro is a superior launcher but CM6 is all about open source....)
Just delete your market version of ADW.
So Cyanogen's version is the one with the "Edit" button on the home screen menu? I suppose I could just delete one and see what happens, eh? Worst thing that could happen is I need to reinstall it, right?
Yeah CM6 has that edit button.

Lol to each his own. I have used ADW for a long time now, and I used LP for several weaks. I stoped using LP right around the time that he was starting to have a paid version. I didnt stop using it for that reason. I personaly like ADW. If you ask me ADW is the superior launcher. The only think LP has over ADW is a customizable dock, I loved that option. Other then that LP falls behind on some key features like swype gestures, the galaxy s app drawer and settings to adjust the speed of the app drawer opening and closing as well as settings to adjust the bounce between page changes on the home screen as well as settings to adjust the speed between pages. Furthermore, ADW also allows you to customize the size of the widget you are placing on the homescreen. ADW also allows you to customize icons with a custom icon image (think better cut here) it has a hidden dock bar that allows for tones of apps to be placed below it. Yes LP has a similar option but you can only place a max of 15 icons there the 5 you normaly use and 10 more no biggy though 10 should be enough actually 7 is for me. Oh and you can adjust the coloms and rows to allow for more or less apps on the screen and in the app drawer. Just saying man lol.
Its still comes down to the user and what he likes. I just like to keep the sides equal. Also I know LP has the notification counter icons but after not using them for so long I actually prefer it without. Wow I just said that.. that was a big issue for me when first changing from LP to ADW. LP is also more sense then ADW considering the creator is making some great sense like widgets. Great work from both developers I just prefer ADW, the options appeal to me.

If you have two ADW launchers then most likly google is restoring your apps when you flash a new rom. My suggestion is turning that off and restoring the apps manually. Manually implies finding them and restoring them from the market if possible. Titanium backup is great but you should be restoring an app you saved from a diffrent rom on to a new rom and so forth. I am not sure why you have to ADW launchers this is just my theory.
Have you tried removing ADW from your market downloads or uncheck automatic update? I don't use CM6 so I'm not sure if the apk info for the edited ADW version isn't being recognized by the market. But on the thing about the "edit" button, I don't think that's a custom CM6 option because I have it on my market-installed ADW.
For some reason I thought it was 2.2 that implemented the automatic backup of apps, but it makes sense that it's google doing it behind the scenes. I removed the market version of ADW with no problem and hopefully it won't come back next time I flash a new nightly CM.
Thanks to everyone for your help.
Yeah remove the the ADW that is located in your market downloads. Also the menu edit was impliment with version 1.1.2-.4 and is not just a CM6 option.
It is 2.2 that back ups apps I am not sure how that works though.

I tried asking in the development forum, but since I don't have any posts it wouldn't let me.......as I'm a newb. I rarely post on forums unless I have problems or can offer advice to help someone else, but I'm still new to all the root level modifications such as ROMS, themes, etc.
Anyways, I flashed Myn's Warm TwoPointTwo ROM, which I love btw, and all is working great, so far. I tried flashing the Themed LauncherPro for Myn's Warm TwoPointTwo and it flashed ok, and all seemed to work fine except one thing. When I scroll to the left or right there's only 1 screen on each side of the home screen whereas there's always 3 screens on the left and right side of the home screen using HTC Sense. I tried searching, but couldn't find anything on the matter.
Also, from what I could tell there was no way to go into any settings for the launcher pro after I flashed that theme. I had installed the original launcher pro app, but had to un-install it as per directions before flashing the "Themed LauncherPro for Myn's Warm TwoPointTwo" mod. I'd like to use this theme because it provides 5 rows on the bottom to leave more room up top on the home screen, but if it only allows me to use only 3 total screens versus the 7 total screens in HTC Sense then I'll do without it.
I hope I was able to describe this in detail enough for someone to understand what the heck I'm trying to say. I guess I'll find out.
You can set it to have as many screens as you like (up to 7).
menu > preferences > homescreen settings > number of screens
FYI, you posted in the right forum regardless of how many posts you have.

When I flashed it the first time and hit Menu, nothing happened except the haptic feedback. I thought this was odd that I couldn't access any sort of settings menu. I suppose it was a bad flash or there were some conflicts going on because I failed to wipe data, system and cache after having flashed a couple ROM'S with Myn's being the last. Last night I did a proper "wipe" and re-flashed Myn's ROM and then re-flashed a few things afterwards like Vanilla Lockscreen, RLS5 browser fix, Transparent Title bar, etc...
I'll try to re-flash and see what happens.
All worked when I reflashed!
The moral of my story is to do a proper "wipe" before reflashing ROM's, so things don't conflict. I'm still learning as all of this is still fairly new to me. I rooted for the first time about 3 weeks ago.

Nope. The paid version of Launcher Pro has Sense like widgets and with the paid fancy widgets app you can duplicate the clock, but the LP Plus widgets aren't quite the same and there aren't replacements for all the widgets.
Well since I don't have enough posts it won't let me post in the Dev section...ugh....anyway, I just wiped and flashed MazWoz-EVO ICS ROM BETA 4 and had to do it a few times because it kept screwing up after I would restore my apps and data via Titanium. I figured since this was ICS and my previous was Gingerbread there were some issues so I didn't restore data this last time and thought all was well.
I can't seem to get the browser to work and I tried Chrome Beta but I already read on the forum that is not working right with this ROM so I'll try something different. But I heard the ICS Browser is really good so I want to try it! Someone else posted the same issue but no response yet:
slikgman: My browser stopped working and i don't know when and why. I keep getting the message "unfortunately, browser stopped working" i am now using Dolphin HD browser. I've tried using the reboot and ROM manager permission fix to correct the problem.

Then I just went to unlock the phone a minute ago and my background showed up but no icons and none of the home buttons did anything. I could scroll between all the home screens but they were all blank except for my background! Hmmm...maybe I tried ICS too soon...though people on the Dev forum seem to be having a lot of luck with this ROM
Can't really help, but sounds like a bad install. I've been running this ROM for 2 weeks with no issues other than what is stated in OP.

Can I just re-flash the zip or will it force me to wipe again? I just got some of my main apps up and going so I hate to wipe for the third time in the last 12 hours...lol
Also, do you know how to change the lock screen options? I use Handcent for messaging and want to swap out the standard "slide up" to go to Handcent instead of Messaging. I can't figure out how to edit this for the life of me!
Until you've gotten a good install I would always wipe a couple times per the instructions in the OP.
Also, when changing the lock screen icons there is a trick to it. It's discussed many times over in the OP.
Basically (going from memory since I am not running the rom at the moment) you go to the lockscreen changer, if you want to add weather only you use the rosie utility. Otherwise you have to use the other utility option that is there. You can add/change whatever icons you want by tapping the icon and selecting the replacement. The icons on this screen may not update. Once you close the utility the icons and shortcuts should be as you desire. If you go back in it will reset and you will have to do the process over again.

I was gonna say! Thanks that's exactly what I needed!
Oh FYI...I sort of figured out the browser issue. All I had to do was go into my Manage Apps, go to Browser and did a Force Stop, Clear Data, and Clear Cache and then went to try it again and it has worked fine since! Weird....
Also, does anyone know where the Car Dock settings are for ICS? I'd like to change the setting to not go into Car Dock mode when docked, since it leaves the phone lit up the whole time. Some ROMs have that option and some don't, but I'd like to know if ICS has that built in and how I get to it.
Another weird thing about this ROM....
If I long press on the home screen to add an app icon, I get the usual list (Apps, Shortcuts, Widgets and Wallpapers) plus choice for Nova Actions. I can add shortcuts and widgets just fine but when I click Apps, it will show me my list of apps but when I select an app it just opens the app! It doesn't add the icon to my home screen! Annoying even though I can still add it there by long pressing the app itself.

So I finally scratched the itch and installed Blu Kuban last night. Thanks to various people on XDA, the install went smoothly. No moments of panic or anything. I really like how fast it feels, and the levels of customization. Not to mention, Sprint really pissed me off with their handling of our device, so I like having some power now with my phone.
I do have a few questions/observations. I'm new to the board (as a poster), so I know I can't post in Dev, so I hope this is all right and proper.
1. I looked through the various ROM options last night, and I could swear I saw some mods for switching/removing some of the toggles on top of the notification window. There's a few I don't really need. But I'm having trouble finding the option that I thought I saw last night. I went through the various update categories numerous times, and I can't find them now. If this exists, can someone point me in the right direction?
2. Speaking of options, is there one for splitting the ring/notification volume? This was something that wasn't working for me on the Oneclick I previously used, and apparently it is an ICS thing. I don't know if there's a solution for this in the ROM.
3. Timeriffic is giving me a slight display issue, and I don't know if it's an app thing or a ROM thing. When I tap on a rule to bring up its settings, the buttons for each option is dark, and I can't see what it is. The clock on the top of that window also looks different than it did previously (I used an sfhub Oneclick of ICS). I really should look around their site and see if this is an app issue, but I'm minutes away from leaving work for the day.
4. I know there's a mod to change the second shortcut on the lockscreen, to launch the dialer or text, or something. Is there an option to add more?
I've had a few isolated problems with FC's. Namely, if I tap+hold on the data toggle in the notification window, I freeze and eventually System UI force closes and reboots, sans my battery icon. Just now I had a random FC on the ROM Updater when I went to look at the boot animation mods.
Regardless though, thank you RUJELUS22 for the time and effort put into this ROM. I look forward to using it more and learning a lot along the way.

Welcome to the rom it is pretty nice and to answer your questions
1: It's in "Labs".. Scroll towards the bottom of the rom updater options to see it
2: if I'm correct I think you mean the notification while on the phone.. That can be found in "general mods" in the rom updater.. It's called "in call sms notification'
3: I don't use traffic light so apologies to not knowing that answer
4: at the moment there is no option to add more.. May be something you could request though... (widget locker works good if you want more short cuts)
5: that is a known bug.. So you can long press all the other toggles but that one.. And yeah sometimes the rom update does hang but it's from usually using it with bad signal connection.. Best to use on WiFi... But when it does hang u should be able to back out of it or hold the home button get into task manage and close it

Yeah I thought you may have read too quickly. I had to look a few times myself to make sure. Usually your replies are spot on. Been known to do the same myself. NP
Thanks to both of you. Funny I spent all that time looking at the ROM Updater for the toggle settings, when it was in the stock settings.
The Timeriffic/sound issue I'm referring to is how ICS deals with the volume level for the ringer, vs. how it does the volume for notifications. My notifications have been coming out louder than my ringtones, and I'd like to level them. Especially since I get more texts than calls, and I don't want to mute my phone at work (hey, if no one else does, why should I!). As for the color issue there, I'll wait until I can post in that thread and I'll ask, but I'll also take some time to look around on Timeriffic's site. I had a similar issue with another program running one of the Oneclicks, so I wonder if it's an ICS issue, or the way some of those apps were compiled.

Well there are seperate volume controls for ringers and notifications in the sound volume menu.
