Want to know what the name of sprint id is so I can remove it. Also the other safe to remove apps. I have gotten rid of the ones I know of, but sure there are more. I looked but can't find the list.

I tried it for one day. It is much better than I thought it would be but still not for me. I think I would love it if it were virtualized. What I mean is if each id ran in its own space so that everything installed on that ID was only visible while you were in that ID. The way it works is if you install 6 id's than all of the apps, backgrounds etc can be seen from the default Touchwiz launcher. That may be great for some it just isn't for me.

No I'm using the Quick Settings found here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=16347577&postcount=4
Unfortunatly I don't know where they originaly came from. I'll I know is they are the only one's that I've found that actually work.
Should be noted that I am also using the 4 settings tybe apk's from the vision_gingersense-2.30.405.1 Rom because they do not have the 4G settings in them.
Come on guys somebody has got to know something, lol
I'm thinking the .xml's in the systemUI.apk aren't looking in the right place for the info that it needs. I'm just not good with that kinda stuff yet though.

Sense 3 or not it still looks the same. I need to figure out how to make it look for what it wants to find. Darker header and pulldown dosn't matter at this point...
Its one of those features people want and if I can make it work I don't mind putting it in.
Happened to me before on a rom, but I can't remember which. Reboot helped for a little while, but it returned shortly after.
Sent from my ADR6300 using XDA App
Its just kinda weird that a systemUI.apk from Sense 3.0 will work even with those weird strings but a systemUI.apk from any of the current 2.1 roms on the forums won't even work.
What happens is if I grab the systemUI.apk from any of these 2.1 that has the quick settings with sliders and put it in my rom the status bar won't show up. Theres no force close...nothing.
Has anyone gotten a hold of the new swype for the Nexus S?
http://www.youtube.com/watch?&v=SNNoEgY5emg
It looks nice and the new features are pretty cool.
did you try to get it through http://sprint.swype.com/android/get/ yet?
Yeah it didn't work
how far did you get with it? because you need to uninstall the stock swype app before attempting to install. I haven't tried to install this one but I assume it's similar to installing swype beta, which I have had success with.

That's because the swype installer installs the swype for the device its on.... you need to get the actual swype.apk from the nexus s forums lol.... I tried to do it to but I realized it wasn't gonna work after reading the swype instructions......

We'll u would need the build.prop from an ns4g on ur comp or sdcard...(probably have to download rom) and open both in text edit. It will probably be the lines before # end build properties.
Should look like this:
ro.build.description=SPH-D700-user 2.2.1 FROYO EC05 release-keys
ro.build.fingerprint=sprint/SPH-D700/SPH-D700/SPH-D700:2.2.1/FROYO/EC05:user/release-keys
Copy/paste the same lines from the ns4g build.prop.
Here is one i modified from the EH06 build.prop...
I am making a nandroid backup now before i try it out.
If anyone else wants to try it here it is.
From what I read on nexus s forums they check carrier also somehow
But since most if us are on sprint were good

Did not work for me with my build prop edit... you suggestion here will just get you the beta ... not the sprint version.
P.S even if a user of a nexus S 4g shared the APK it would not work as it licenses it per device...
Greetings,
I'm curious if anybody knows of a flashable mod that would enable me to have a similar dropdown drawer power menu that's used on the Unnamed ROM. In particular, I'd like to have that drawer while using Caukulin's E4GT 2.8 ROM.
Anybody know of one?

Come on guys nandroid and man up...lol Its a simple file and swap out from one rom to another all the time. Its the framework files and Phone and Contacts apk's you got to worry about.
I don't want to have to download unnamed rom just to rip out an APK, if someone is asking, they already have it.
I like mine fine the way it is, but a little tweak could be nice.

I'm running Darkside Evolution 2.
I'm really not digging the Touchwiz Dialer, which inexplicably leaves off the contacts tab.
Is there a way to replace the dialer with AOSP, or is this one of those things that pretty much needs to be baked into the ROM?

Just doing that doesn't seem to work, seems like phone.apk is very finicky.
Based on the lack of responses from anyone chiming in saying they've done it, doesn't sound like anyone has managed to pull it off yet it's so finicky.

It's possible. There was a zip somewhere that was posted on the Skyrocket forum. I can't find it, so I decided to upload it. Not taking credit for it, just can't remember where it came from: AOSP Patch.zip
Edit: Was having problems before, but reflashed from scratch, now all is well.
Just as a warning, if you flash the zip above, you well also be theeming your market and contracts etc. Also it's a darker version of the dialer without the blue accents.

Flash in recovery. I have tried to test every aspect of the Settings since decompiling to make sure there are no FC's so If you encounter any please let me know.
This should work with or without being de-odedex. However please delete the "SecSettings.odex" file in /system/app after flashing.

thanks for your mods running great so far on stock
On the stock ROM it didn't work until I deleted the secsecurity.odex file. Works like a charm now - thanks so much for solving one of the most irritating minor annoyances on this phone!
Sorry for being a NOOB, But base on the instruction, after flashing it, we are to delete the SecSettings.odex file in system/app.
After flashing it with TWRP, I went into ES File Explorer to look for it and cant find it.....Am I doing something wrong?
Thanks
