Hi,
I just installed a custom ROM on my phone and it's working very well.
The question is that I made a nandroid backup and want to copy some files from the backup. So how can I open the system.img and data.img files on my windows machine in order to copy the desired files?
Thanks in advance.

Hey guys,
asked this question in the wrong section so I'm asking it here.
Is it possible to extract an old nandroid backup to view memos I may have had?
I don't want to restore the backup, I know something in it is wrong as it would freeze on bootup after I tried a restore, that isn't important. What is important is there were memos stored on that backup that I need back.
I used unyaffs to extract system.img, but everytime I try and extract data.img (which is where I'm guessing the memos are stored) I get a popup in windows 7x64 that says unyaffs.exe has stopped working.
I copied data.img off my sdcard and am trying to extract through windows terminal.
Can someone tell me if I am correct in thinking the memos would be stored in the data.img and where they might be located and why I am unable to extract data.img?
Thanks in advance!
Hello
My problem is that I downloaded the nand stock rom from the thread and extracted it and tried to put it in the clockworkmod\backups folder and I think it was ok (not sure) but by mistake I deleted all of backups (the stock and the one i created) and I tried to copy it again and create another one but I noticed that there never 2 backups.
The one that I created I can see only from the restore option in recovery and not in the folder ( I used to see it in the folder ..) and the stock one I can see in the folders but not in the restore option.
Should it be like this ? Am I doing something wrong ?
How can I restore that stock backup if I cant see it ?
I'm on ordroid 9 with TWRP recovery.
And the stock one gets in ZIP but i extracted it and copied as folder.
Thanks in advance , I'm afraid to flash new version.
That's because you didn't put it into clockworkmod>backup folder in the sd card and btw you don't extract anything .....every nandroid backup must have 5 zip files in it (don't extract it) and should be named as the date and time it was created
The folder should be like this
Clockworkmod\backup\date & time folder\backup files

I know :\
I extracted the stock backup folder from the zip . not the content in backup.
Forgot the part about renaming, that actually might be the case.
Thanks both of you, I'll try it.
I was doing some changes to my phone so i did a backup and then copied the backup directory from the phone to my PC to save it. The backup was under /clockworkmod/backup/Jan312013.
I copied that directory (Jan312013) to my PC not even realizing when it copied it, for some reason it changed it to a zip file??? Now i have Jan312013.zip and have no idea how to copy that back to phone to restore?? If i open the zip it has all the files that would normally be in the backup directory but of course recovery does not recognize a zip file for backup.
Thoughts? Help? Thanks.
What version of CWM, if that's what youre using? I just used 6.0.2.3, and i believe there's an option to backup as .zip. Maybe you accidentallychose that method?
hello. i need to get back to stock im on cid htc 001

what i think iv found out is that there is no ruu out for this, iv found a nandroid bk up but it is a rar file. this is what im stuck on how to restore with it
Open the rar with winrar/winzip/7zip and extract all the files to your pc... and now transfer all the files to your phone in this directory /clockworkmod/backup/02-06-2013/ and put the boot.img file in the fastboot folder.
Go to fastboot mode and then flash the boot.img and then erase cache... Go to recovery and then wipe everything! and finally restore backup and then reboot!
PS: I'm assuming you have a backup made with CWM recovery!
CWM recovery made 2 rar file

hi there i used CWM Munjeni v5.5.0.4 i did was Used back up and restore option> in there i used backup option and the backup process begun > after backup in CWM folder i got an folder named backup> in that backup folder there was another folder named ""2014-04-11.17.41.43"" i guess its data and time used as name of the folder and in that folder this actual 4 backup files were there which are two rar files named "data.ext4.rar" and "system.ext4.rar" also other two files are ""boot.img" and ""recovery.img" .
FYI after backup i had fashed and installed CM10 for HTC Desire C .
