Standard recovery

Hi, if I install the clockwork mod recovery, how do I get the standard one back if I don't like it?
And another question, if I install a RUU file, will it get the standard one back?

If you install a RUU file, your recovery will still be the same. Correct me if I'm wrong

That's correct. If you flash an RUU, the recovery will be original...

is there a way to retrieve the original recovery without flashing a RUU?

Can anyone confirm that this will work?

you can flash img with unrevoked custom option

I confirm that flash the recovery on PB99IMG.zip restore the original recovery.

How could I update ClockWorkMod?
any idea? any link? I have Desire and ClockWorkMod 2.5.x.x.x installed already, but want update it...how can I do it?

S-ON > You have to go through the root process again, and select a recovery you want to apply (in unrevoked select custom recovery).
S-OFF > Download the file from http://download.clockworkmod.com/recoveries/ and flash it with Android Flasher or via Fastboot.

Rom Manager, bleh. Best way if s-off is to flash through fastboot. Once rooted, you can't use unrevoked to flash a recovery since it will error.

I agree, but the last version of rom manager now do real flash if u are s-off..so no more fake flash...even i dont use it, but for newbie maybe is the easy way to flash teh recovery if theya re s-off

For my Desire, with file name: "recovery-clockwork-5.0.1.0-bravo.img" so, I am just wondering if I can flash this file in order to update my ClockWorkMod to latest version, I have 2.5 installed already, phone rooted and S-OFF
Can I flash this .img file using recovery mode? by selecting what?

u cant flash the recovery inside the recovery.. flash it using fastboot..search how flash it, or download rom manager app and install from there..

Please spare us... Use the foolproof method:
1. download rom manager from market.
2. press "flash clockworkmod recovery"
DONE... no more trouble for any of us

need help for hboot

please can some one give the right guide for flashing the stock hboot because i wanna go back to stock but i have cm7r2 hboot

Download the bravo stock PB99IMG_stock from http://alpharev.nl/
Place it on the root of your SD card and rename it to PB99IMG.zip.
Turn the phone off, then boot into hboot using volume down and power. It will search for the file and ask if u want to flash it. Use volume up to select yes then reboot.

you need to flash the downgrader first, as written on alpharev, where all instructions are also given
Downgrade protection, these HBOOTs cannot be overwritten by an OTA or RUU, unless you flash a downgrader HBOOT first.

i did as you say but it didn't ask me anything abou flash something after the key combo on power+volum down an i renamed teh file from bravo_alphaspl.img to PB99IMG.zip

You don't download the img and rename it to a zip.
You download the zip and rename it to what I said above. Here's the direct download:

Just get rid of the "_stock" and your good to go.

i applied the downgrader and after that the stock hboot and in the bootloader it shows me 6.93.0002 at hboot

I think the downgrader is only necessary if you want to flash an ruu.

Removal of twrp recovery

Can I remove the twrp recovery?
Because I can't update my phone using twrp recovery I want to get back from stock recovery. Thanks

You have the OTA downloaded, but can't flash it I presume?
Transfer the OTA download to your PC and open it with 7zip (it's free).
Find the firmware.zip and unzip it. Extract the recovery.img from that, put it into your fastboot folder and hook up your phone. fastboot flash recovery recovery.img

Hello,
Sorry to but in; If you flash the OTA recovery img onto a phone that has not been updated to that OTA will there be any issues with the phone booting up?
In other words if my phone is on v 1.19 with TWRP and I flash the recovery img from the OTA for v1.19 --> 1.20 will there be a problem?
What happens if you flash the entire firmware.zip for OTA v1.19 --> 1.20?
Does S-ON, S-Off play a role here?

Trying to update LeeDroid - Seriously confused - Can't find firmware

Really stuck at the moment
My CID is HTC_001 and I'm on version 2.41.401.3? (S-ON)
I'm trying to flash the latest oreo firmware however I can't either find the correct RUU to do it, on top of that I'm trying the flash (I think the right file?_) via SD card however I don't have one and people are mentioned using a command prompt which confused me more.
Please help ! If you can provide links to the RUU or the correct file I'm meant to flash I'd appreciate it

The easiest way for someone who doesn't want to take the time to learn how things work would be to download this Nougat RUU

To flash RUU:
Rename the file to 2PS6IMG.zip
Place on Ex SD CARD
boot to download mode
Press vol up to flash.
RUU will erase internal storage. Once RUU has flashed boot your phone and take the OTA to OREO. After your phone has taken the OTA flash the latest twrp then flash leedroid Oreo ROM.
The reason I suggest this way instead of flashing firmware is because your going to have to wipe data anyway and by flashing an RUU you have a clean start.

Hi, thanks for the advice. The issue I'm having is I don't have access to an SD card so I'm trying to flash via ADB sideload in TWRP however I'm now met with zip file invalid in TWRP.

You can't flash it with twrp. You can use htc_fastboot and flash from RUU mode.

Awesome okay, so I've booted in RUU mode however on the command prompt when I try to flash I'm met with target reported max download size of 157920000, invalid sparse file format at header magic. Can you advise?

If anyone wants to know what I did to get back to stock so I could download Oreo
Downloaded Fastboot/ADB(Use this guide) https://lifehacker.com/the-easiest-way-to-install-androids-adb-and-fastboot-to-1586992378
Enabled USB debugging on the phone
Download HTC_Fastboot (Google it)
Download the Zip yldlj posted (Only if you are the same CID as me, the check this go onto the app store and find CID checker and then look on XDA for appropriate zip)
Put the download zip into the same folder as ADB/HTC_Fastboot/Fastboot folder. Rename it ota.zip
In the folder where you've extracted the ADB/Fastboot/ hold Ctrl Shift Right click open command window here
Connect your phone via USB
Set your phone onto download mode
From there I used the command htc_fastboot oem rebootRUU
Once loaded into RUU Mode use the command htc_fastboot flash zip ota.zip
Once that was complete I was back to stock Android N which then enables me to update to Oreo

1: you need the ruu that matches your main version OS which can be found in the download mode
2: if you are on leedroid oreo means you have a oreo firmware and in that case you can not "just" flash a nougat ruu. Check the guides section, there is a downgrade dedicated thread with all the needed information
